Nope. Sudo didn't work for me.Finally...someone giving extra info thanks. Mine was stuck being unable to install and guarantee that is because it didn't fully complete the download - even though the system said it did.
I ran that command, clicked update (No VPN and I'm in UK) and it has started straight up from 3GB download. This proves that it had only downloaded that much before. I'm confident that if this completes it will now install but I will updated.
It says it will take 22 minutes to complete and is flying through the download.

Extra credits for the rest of the download? 😈😈😂😂View attachment 1662702Mine is stuck at this screen, the bar doesn't appear to be moving. Anyone know if it does get stuck here for a while?
Get a coffee. I got one myself. It's 2:30 AM now in Greece and I need around 3 more hours to complete the download.
Any ideas on how to stay awake? (LOL)

Same.Nope. Sudo didn't work for me.
One more on the pile for that! Those of us that "supposedly" downloaded the FULL file earlier are still in purgatory. Won't even initiate a download because the broken file keeps trying to install first. I'll just pile on to the group asking how do we delete that file so it can start over! UGH
Που να δεις και το Μ1 που πετάειΚαιρό είχαμε να ξενυχτήσουμε για κάτι που να αξίζει.

I'm also in Florida and it still seems there for me. Broken as ever though.hey guys the big sur update seems to have been pulled. I'm in Florida US, and I just went back and ran the software update prefpane and now it says my system is up to date with Catalina.
Did you reboot your Mac? If not, do that and it should clear. Those of us that "supposedly" downloaded the FULL file earlier are still in purgatory. sudo softwareupdate --clear-catalog
The OS installer downloads to the Applications folder.Quick Q:
Can anyone remind me where the installer file(s) are stored when I get the initial 'click to continue' screen?
I'd like to copy them onto another Mac...
oh well, i'll just wait since you're in Florida, how bad of a beating did you get from the tropical storm that went across today ? I mainly got rain and 15 to 23 mph winds not bad at all.I'm also in Florida and it still seems there for me. Broken as ever though.
Thanks! That seemed to put it back. Not sure how or why it changed.Try running
and then restart preferences.Code:sudo softwareupdate --clear-catalog

Mine before it crashed had said it downloaded 12.18 GB. I'm stuck in purgatory in Los Angeles. The OS installer downloads to the Applications folder.
there's a bug where Software Update App. doesn't populate the authentication headers in the request it sends to Akamai servers and those return an error "403" aka "Prohibited". I am assuming there was an issue with the previous update of Catalina that screwed up the communication protocols.Well this is interesting. My software updates suddenly claims I have no internet and that my updates are managed externally.
