Those effing things are microscopically teeny tiny. An abhorrent abuse of correct UI/UX. Apple has clearly lost their way completely. Eff these things, no matter what color or glass they are.
As far as I can tell they’re pretty much the same size as they’ve always been. Since 2001. How has Apple suddenly lost their way? If anything they’re pretty consistent in this regard.

They shrunk around the time of Lion I think and have stayed the same size ever since, can’t say I have any issue with their size.

What does need looking at is the green ‘full screen’ button where there should be a setting to change the default behaviour to ‘fill’. I’d argue this should also be the default behaviour.

Anyone new to Mac presses this button expecting to maximise the window and gets thrown into a new space with no obvious way out. Not great UX.

In a previous post, I wrote about how macOS 27 allows agents from third-party apps to integrate with Siri AI, similar to the ChatGPT extension. Turns out, macOS 27 also allows third-party apps to replace Siri's model.

You’re right they did become a bit smaller with OS X Lion, but then they got bigger again with OS X Yosemite I think (original size roughly) and even bigger with macOS Tahoe (as long as you have an updated app).

And agreed I really wish you could set the default behavior of the green button to fill. Just make it a setting what you want it to do standard: full screen, zoom or fill.

They lost their way ten minutes after these hellish dots were first foisted upon an unsuspecting public. Why round? "Oh, because it makes it thirty five times harder to focus the cursor on it." So, unless tahoe FIXED them, they are likely worse. More likely, tahoe reenshitified them.
