when Steve was releasing a new product we would always be shocked and always say:
"I can't believe they even though of this, how great this is!"

with Timmy new products you always say:
"oh no it doesn't do this, I though it did ! I need to buy an adapter or external device now !"

mark my words !!!!!

1. the mac pro looked nice but created a mess of adapters, cables and external devices

2. the macbook looked great but it was slow, the battery lasted less, one port only and 480p

3. the mac mini was neutered and has soldered ram

4. the iMac has soldered ram and 5400rpm drives

5. the phones and iPad have bumps

6. the watch is so slow

7. i have to stop working in order to charge the mouse with a port underneath

there is always something very very annoying about every single Apple product now !

And if that were the case, I'd agree with you, but it's not. Considering how long Apple takes to implement new technologies into any of their products, there's no chance of seeing Kaby Lake in a Mac this year. At this point, the delay is completely arbitrary as they won't launch a new MBP until Sierra goes GM. Furthermore, it sounds like Cook is worried an exciting MBP refresh might take excitement away from the iPhone 7 launch, so there's a chance we won't see them in September now either.

"there's no chance of seeing Kaby Lake in a Mac this year" - With the one exception being the 12" rMB

"so there's a chance we won't see them in September now either." - Not necessarily. Nothing stopping Apple from announcing / showing off the new MBP during the September event and then officially going on sale some time in October.

MAC PRO??! MAC........PRO??!!!! Even if this is a rumor...lot better than hearing iphone7 and 8. WAYYYYY better than listening to Eddie Cue talking about music app!

Are you sure you even remember Steve Jobs? All of these things are the exact types of things Steve Jobs was known for, even back to the original Macintosh.

Yeah I don't why DisplayPort 1.3 isn't getting supported yet. But remember Thunderbolt is a lot more versatile than DisplayPort, it's basically external PCI Express.

yes that's true! but thunderbolt devices have yet to be very exciting for more prosumer type folks like me. The most exciting pcie device for most folks would probably be a gpu.

as it stands it is mostly for daisy chaining displays or providing insane i/o eh? Do current TB2 storage devices even perform better than usb 3.0?

It does make perfect sense if you believe that the delay is related to:

1. Apple waiting for AMD's 14nm Polaris mobile GPU
2. Tuning macOS Sierra to the OLED function bar that will be on the new MBP

I don't think that the next MBP's coming out within the next couple of months will be based on Kaby Lake, but Skylake CPUs.

I honestly don't think the next MacBook Pro will have a dedicated gpu. They even sell 15 mbp now without it on certain models.
[doublepost=1472082674][/doublepost]
Agreed.

The best thing I can come up with is that they were waiting on Polaris. I still think they could have got the 13" rMBP out around June/July if they really wanted to, with the 15" dGPU model to follow later. But I guess they wanted to sell some old models at high prices a bit longer.

I hate to bear bad news but it's highly unlikely that the new mbp will have dedicated gpu. Gotta take something out to make em thinner.

We've seen a leaked MBPro shell, with 5 total. 4 USB-C-sized ports (presumable TB3/USB3/DisplayPort/power in one). Plus a round hole, presumably audio-out. Data-wise, yes, 3 ports plus power, or 4 when on battery.
.

This makes no sense to me if they have 4 USB-C and a 3.5MM. If it has an audio out, they should have another for lightening female port. So all the headphones that you will get with your future iphone can't be used for your computer?

I also was hoping that shell was fake, as removing USB would be a nightmare especially if you want to move files.

But this is Tim's Apple, so my next guess is he will some how destroy OSX and macbook pros. Probably remove all ports except one USB-C, and make it rose gold for the sake of innovation!

Let's not all get jolly good over some specs here....very atypical of any apple lover...

You guys should've learned by now: never ever buy 1st generation apple product. Wait for 2nd or even 3rd revisions before you spend your hard earned dollars.

Well than the delay makes absolutely no sense. Especially with the launch missing the back to school season completely.

1) the Skylake-H quad core chipsets with IP580 graphics just recently came out, and the only shipping product I know that has those so far is the Skull Canyon NUC — 2.6 GHz Core i7-6770HQ, a 2.7 GHz Core i7-6870HQ, and a 2.8 GHz Core i7-6970HQ — THESE are the most likely candidates for a 15" MBP, and the lack of other shipping products makes me think that they haven't hit high yields yet, or other issues. Yes the mobile Xeons have been available longer, but I think those are a long shot for the MBP due to cost.

2) AMD Polaris dGPUs are ... now available? about to be available? Either way, those are right out of the oven, about as fresh as can be.

3) Other factors could include production yields for the OLED bar or new screen technology, but I think the combination of 1 & 2 make the timing of the release perfectly reasonable to any objective observer.

4) Apparently this needs repeating in this thread: Kaby Lake processors out in 2016 ARE NOT THE MODELS YOU'D FIND IN A MACBOOK PRO, those variants are more likely to appear sometime in mid-2017, but who can ever tell anymore when for example this year Intel "launched" the Skylake-H/IP580 chipsets and 7 months later we see the NUC and nothing else yet actually released from 3rd parties at all.

Another reason: reality will disappoint.

Speaking of reality - I'm still awaiting SIRI activation without my iPad Pro 12.9" being plugged in. Same exact M9 processor but crippled because of some absurd reasoning that escapes me.

Never mind the fact that there are no Kaby Lake processors usable for a MBP coming out this year. Apple is indeed slow to implement technologies which are not available yet!

Kaby Lake natively supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Thunderbolt 3

Confirmation all new iMacs and MacBook Pro's to get Kaby Lake and not Sky Lake? Could explain why it's been so long with no new hardware updates.

Bring it!
I get so mad at stupid people on the internett..

That goes against pretty much all the evidence we have that they will put a mobile Polaris chip in them, so I'm really not sure what you're basing this on... "making them thinner" is not exactly a solid reason for dismissing the possibility of a dGPU.

I think by this point Apple is ready to use only integrated graphics given how far Intel has come with their offerings, especially with the alleged improvements with Kaby Lake graphics. It probably makes $ense to Tim & Co. For better or worse, we've been moving in that direction.

I think this is terribly wrong.... I don't want to carry a usb C cable that is a hub for all the things that used to be accessible already WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???? This just seems like a plot for apple to make even more money. I really like having the ports on the actual macbook as I can use them when I need... the charge cord and the laptop great, now we're supposed to carry some POS adapter. One of the coolest things was the magsafe ability if you hit the cord you device was fine, not anymore... I don't see this as innovation, it's a reversal of smart design. Its a reversal of what made the macbook's portability so unique to apple... BAD BAD BAD!!!!! I guess this is what happens when Millennials work for apple and can not create new ideas, instead mess with whats already good.. Why not create magsafe USB? or even make the USB C' magsafe... man I'm so frustrated!!!!

I do believe in Macs, I do believe in Macs, I do, I do, I do believe in macs...
