MultiFinder17, Oxygen-X1 (and his "brother" AlfredoM over at InsanelyMac) are upset with me because I still believe and have stated that Nvidia Kepler will be enabled on Tahoe by a future version of OCLP. My optimism irritates "them both" (although some have speculated that they are the same person). He wants OCLP to enable NVidia Kepler in Tahoe for his legacy Mac. I think he might be trying to use reverse psychology, thinking that it will somehow motivate the OCLP Devs to deliver a Kepler patch more quickly. I've just spent more time on this than it deserves.
I'm not upset with anyone, I'm sure it'll get figured out eventually. I was responding to someone else posting about how a machine without Nvidia patches is useless, pointing out that not every Mac has a Nvidia GPU. Please don't bring me into conspiracies.

You completely misunderstood my post. Please accept my apology for the misunderstanding. My post is addressed to you, saying that Oxygen-X1 and his brother AlfredoM are upset with me. Not you. After re-reading my post, I see that it is poorly written.
 
I don't understand why this needs to be such a big deal on this forum.

To Oxygen-X1: if you are unhappy that there currently no Kepler patches, write them yourself. If you are unable to or otherwise unwilling, then be patient. It is as simple as that and all of this bickering is entirely unnecessary - from both you and @deeveedee.

She's also free to do whatever she wants with her computer, even if that might be something less than stellar (like running macOS without acceleration - I would personally not do that). It's their computer, it doesn't affect you at all. Just let it go.

This Pretty much sums up what we Should say to anyone that says "where is Tahoe Support" or " Where are the x Patches yet?? When will they release?". Thank you for your work for OpenCore legacy patcher.

Hahaha... because he turns *everything* off—things like transparency and animations—and ends up using a totally crippled OS where everything moves in slow motion on his unsupported Mac with Nvidia graphics.
It’s simply laughable to work with a system like that. 🙂

I've tested running macOS Tahoe with tranparency etc. disabled. And by no means does disabling cosmetic features like these leave macOS in a "crippled" state in terms of functionality.

BTW: I have an iMac12,2 which I upgraded with an Nvidia GPU to replace the ATI terrascale GPU it came with since it doesn't support metal. And with the Kepler GPU I no longer have graphics glitches which I got otherwise. These include glitchy loading animations on websites, etc.

Quite frankly crippled would mean macOS is unusable.. but even without acceleration macOS is useable but barely.( Ofc no animations or or liquid glass/transparency tho)

^^^ That would be nice, if and when some Mx Macs will become unsupported: but would it even be technically possible (on new foundations)…?
It's a pipe dream. You'd have to first of all somehow get macOS to even boot on rather different hardware, and secondly write ARM macOS drivers for all of the NVIDIA hardware. It's a much bigger stretch than getting macOS to run on other Intel systems or old Intel Macs, because in that case it was at least running on mostly similar hardware.

Sometimes people do crazy stuff though.
 
Are you sure that processors in the ARM family differ that much from one another in terms of code and programming ? macOS can also run on AMD processors (use OC bootloader with special drivers ) , which are different from Intel processors. And the differences between ARM processors may be smaller than those between Intel and AMD 😃

The CPU might be the least problematic thing. The CPUs are likely similar enough that they could run the software without much hassle. However, the boot process is completely different (…see: you can't just boot "any" ARM Linux ISO on a MacBook), and rest of hardware setup is completely different (where are you going to find an NVIDIA GPU driver for ARM macOS?).

I rather thought about a “light” implementation of a hypothetical OCLP for Apple Silicon: that is, only to enable future unsupported (?) Mx Macs to run the newest macOS versions (i.e., for Apple Silicon, to run Apple Silicon macOS): that would probably be much easier, or not…?

Until there is a version of macOS which does not support specific M-series Macs, nobody can say what frameworks/drivers/etc have been removed, hence, nobody can say how easy/hard it would be to add/inject them back… and get new macOS to boot on unsupported Apple Silicon hardware.

Yeah, there are a lot of unknowns with this, but it certainly would be more feasible than trying to run macOS on non-Apple hardware.
 
In the meantime, let’s hope there’ll be first a 2.5 and then a 3.0 release for “classic” Intel OCLP…
Yeah really. I Currently Use the nightly Version of OpenCore legacy patcher 2.5.0 and it runs perfectly on my ivy bridge hack with intel wifi. As for 3.0.0 we can only really hope the developers Pull through and Support it one day..
 
I am very excited to see how this last intel release of macOS will run on my blackbook5,2 after everything has been ironed out.
Tried playing with an OCLP+ installer but no luck, not expecting much on my non-metal artifact, but I'd love to hear from anyone who's gotten it working on C2D macs, especially a 2009...
I have the board swapped into a near mint black housing, 8gb of ram, a 2008 macbook pro trackpad, and a BCM94360CS2 airport card. All I need for it to be perfect is a 3.06 C2D, and a keyboard backlight from a 2009 macbook air, then it will be perfect.
I saw the old screenshots with a couple core 2 macs in the mix, so someone's getting it in. very exciting! Conceptually*!
Curious how performance is before and after disabling the usual junk. And curious what the end state will be in a couple years with regard to graphics acceleration on non-metal macs.
Also I Might be A little late, but Apple seemingly have Skipped macOS Sequoia 15.7.6 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.6?
Today I Updated my MacBook retina 2012, and my Hackintosh to macOS Sequoia 15.7.7 but I didn't see the 15.7.6 release ( I know apple released some betas for both Sequoia 15.7.6 and Sonoma 14.8.6). Regardless Both Devices work Perfectly with the New Update with OCLP 2.5.0 Nightly.
Also, could you link this wallpaper? I mostly posted just to ask for this 😀

It has a new version number! It has liquid metal, it's a redesign update! The last intel version forever, our modern day Leopard, It's novel – it's fun!
Also, watch macOS 27 iron out every single kink. Will they strong-arm legacy platform users via poorly rolled out software? Again?

Tomorrow, is officially Intel Mac's death Day... With macOS 27 apple revealing, it will mark the end of Intel Macs! what a journey especially with OpenCore Legacy Patcher. I cannot begin to Thank Every single Developer That has worked on OpenCore Legacy Patcher, your Work has made many Perfectly working Macs That were thrown in the trash but OpenCore legacy patcher revived them all! have a Good day, and God Bless us all, and A special Thank you to educovas for his amazing work!
