macOS Tahoe Finder Bug Underscores Apple's Slipping UI Polish

I believe, the creator of that blog article has already reported all that stuff repeatedly.
I think this still looks better than this abomination Apple came up with now.
(I didn't like how out of place it looked at the time too.)
They're not reading the feedback submitted to them either

MacOS Sequoia is a finely polished and mature operating system. On the other hand, MacOS Tahoe is a clumsy, anti-ergonomic and visual step back. Personally, I also think the System Settings panel is a big step back in last years. Once we had nice, easy to navigate, horizontally oriented Mac-designed panel that Monterey used. But I kind of swallowed that as a sacrifice in order to bring about convergence of control panels in Apple's ecosystem. However, that's just the tip of iceberg as Tahoe is unnecessary departure from the nice, minimalist interface that still puts usability first.
I installed it on a secondary drive out of curiosity, but soon gave up and went back to the Sequoia. What I noticed immediately was how much slower the entire system was, apparently due to the new exaggerated graphics effects. And it's not like I have a slow Mac, not so long ago I paid for it like I bought a new mid-range car. Of course I'm disappointed.
What Apple could do now is to add an option somewhere for a "legacy GUI look" so that those of us who don't bow to visual kitsch can work more productively and comfortably. Something like this certainly wouldn't pass if Jobs were alive.
It's even more frustrating that Apple is pushing reminders to upgrade to Tahoe daily, almost as if they're desperate that people aren't making the transition because we've realized that Tahoe isn't a mature product.
Now it's time for Apple to take a break from unnecessary OS "innovations" and release a new MacOS "Snow Leopard", a version of the system that has nothing obviously new, but just works faster and without bugs. Well, that would be a day! It's time for Snow Tahoe! 🙂

Keep hiring bad and low qualified workers, Apple, keep getting bad and low quality work, Apple. There were a TON of highly qualified workers at Apple but they chased many out just because they hit 40 years old, etc and wanted to hire new ‘cheaper’ employees. Maybe Apple will learn from their mistakes and the software side of things will one day improve.
Honestly some people have too much time on their hands. Tahoe has been rock solid on a M1 MacBook Pro and a Mac Studio M4 Max for me. Running multiple VMs under parallels and lots of software development tasks. Nothing is ever perfect, but an odd quirk like this is a ‘get a life’ bug.

apple doesn't have a public bug tracker like almost every big tech company, there's no proof they know of any issues.

I've been seeing a more annoying bug ever since the release of Tahoe 26.3 beta 2, and it happened again this morning, after I installed the latest 26.3 release last night on my 16 inch 2021 M1 Macbook Pro Max: If I leave the Macbook running overnight, sometimes I find in the morning that it's restarted itself, and it's sitting at the login screen. When I get to the Finder, there's a message saying the Macbook restarted due to "an issue", and the usual crash reporter window also appears with data for debuggers at Apple. Regular crashing like this hasn't happened on any of my Macs or Macbooks in years (until now, that is).
OMG I thought it was just me, this has been utterly infuriating the hell out of me - I have to resize the Finder window to like 70% of my 40" ultra wide to make the widgets appear above the scrollbar.
They do have forums where people can report bugs.
I've seen the issues I have mentioned multiple times, so Apple should know about them.
I was able to leave tabs open for over an hour without disappearing so maybe they fixed that bug.
The other two still exist, maybe fixed on the next update.

I've seen this many times too, but it's not new with Tahoe. I think I've seen it with the last version of macOS too (Sequoia), and maybe Sonoma before that. But I've found that if you're persistent and keep wiggling and moving the pointer, while dragging an item, onto the folder icon, eventually it sometimes works and lets you drop the item into the folder. But sometimes not! If you come back to it later and try again, sometimes it finally works. At least it's consistently unpredictable.

I think you miss the point: Apple or any other corporation will do (4) if it does (1) - (3), particularly if (1) includes new products and service that sell well. It’s not a design studio. It’s not a social service organization. All we can do is hope that it returns to making big bucks by offering superlative products.
Hmm … been resisting Tahoe, since if it's anything like ios26, I'm not interested. But the column width adjusting to file names? That's a loooong overdue and welcome fix. Hopefully it'll also happen within apps like FCP.
Disappointing to see such bugs. Hopefully Apple will fix it soon and we will not have to wait till macOS 27 is released.
I was using small utility XtraFinder for years back in time just for this and when it stopped working without SIP disabled (which you don't want obviously), I started using Forklift as a Finder replacement, which has this functionality. Later I found that auto-adjusting the column width to the file names already is in macOS. At least in Sequoia. You can turn it on in Terminal or with the help of maintenance tools like Onyx...
LOL. What? Apple's entire reputation as a business has been built on design starting when the original Mac rolled off the assembly line 42 years ago. It's a tent pole of the brand's value proposition. The product looks good, the UI looks good and is friendly. Go back to the launch of the original iMac, the first presentation of Aqua and OS X. Trust me, there was more effort put into the design of OS X 10.0 than engineering effort. The iPod clickwheel didn't just naturally come into being. Watch those Steve Jobs presentations and you can tell the level of obsessiveness that went into design of all those things. A good deal is showmanship, sure. But it's their Why, it's their brand promise, it's their very definition of a "Superlative Product."
Saying that Apple isn't a design studio is like saying Mercedes isn't a design studio, can make cars that look just like Toyotas and the only thing that matters is that they drive ok and still sell for a luxury price...
Consumer's (and shareholders) have brand expectations that are built over years and decades. No corporation can just decide to not care about one of their biggest differentiators and expect their customers to just wait patiently until they stumble onto the next hit.
Liquid Glass either does or doesn't live up to consumer expectations for a product from Apple. A company the consumer expects to have a design studio philosophy and refined attention to detail. It's as simple as that.

The music app is on macOS is insane half baked… it still chugs and has hiccups the longer it is left open during the day without restarting it.
Sometimes simple actions like add to a playlist doesn’t work.
Sometimes it’s possible to add a song twice and sometimes it does ask for the “song was already there, want to add it or skip adding this second instance” prompt.
The have concepts like “play next”, “play last”, “add to queue”… the last two are redundant but they appear in different instances.
Sometimes I’m listening to a song and just can’t restart it from the beginning with the “rewind” button (depends on the type of playback if it entered infinite mode or in station mode). I drag the time slider to the beginning.
The “next/history” songs panel just overlaps over the right side of the UI (if browsing album tiles, some of them will get half occluded)
Sometimes I can’t tap the the shuffle songs or the infinite songs buttons, can’t remember what happens exactly, but “they get gone”.
Annoying because on iOS it seems to work so much better and so much more pleasing to the eyes. Apple Music on macOS still feels and looks just like iTunes of the yesteryears.
I have some issues with the Music app.
1. Shuffle will bring up the same songs regularly. I have playlists of hundreds of songs and shuffling will do the same subset of them with a few less played ones here and there. This has been a longstanding issue going back to the 2000s though. Shuffle in iTunes/Apple Music has almost always been not random.
2. Searching for songs is generally poor. If I'm looking for a specific song, there are many times I cannot find it by searching. It exists in Apple Music, but I'll have to find it by going to an artist page or some other way. Searching is better on macOS than iOS, at least.
As for your raised issues -- I seen some but not all of them:
1. I don't have this happen. I have Apple Music up all the time (on my Mini it's been open for a week now and I can play and stop music without anything happening like you're describing on a base model M4 Mini)
2. I've seen that a few times over the years. It's not a new glitch.
3. I've not had this happen in at least 3 or 4 years, but it's also happened to me.
4. I don't use that feature much so cannot comment.
5. I've not had this problem. I can always go back to the beginning of the song that way.
6. That's an issue.
7. That's never happened in my usage.
