And now: only 74% own an iPod? Who ARE you other 26%?
That's the 26% who stole their iPods from someone on the subway, so they don't really own them.

And happy birthday Steve. Here's to another ummm... 53 years? :p
The oldest men live to about 114, so Steve has four more years until he's halfway.

I've been a member for five of them. Lurker since Sept. 2002.

I have to say this is the best forum I've ever seen. Not only a great Mac resource but also a great sense of community.

Arn has always maintained a level head when it comes to moderation and has passed it on to the other Mods as well. MacRumors is the yardstick I use to gauge other forums.

Thanks Arn and all the other mods for making this such a great site!

Survey...

Only 74% own an iPod? That seems pretty low - considering the venue. I can see the division between MBP, iMacs and MPs, but not everyone has an iPod?

I would have guessed in the 90's on that one...

Happy B-Day MR!

Guess who is celebrating too...

... a confirmed source ... has given me exclusive news that ... the man who is responsible for releasing the new Macbook Pros ... is celebrating his 53rd birthday. ;)

Hope he made himself a fine present and will release it to us on tuesday to cheer with him :D

I remember finding this site when I was looking for my first Mac - I finally had the money. At that time the rumours were swirling for an LCD iMac. I bought a Powerbook Titanium and shortly after spent the evening watching the Macworld Keynote and the Macrumor's coverage. It was so much fun when time magazine let it slip for the beautiful iMac. Great times. I was hooked.

Anyway congratulations on eight years! And thanks to all the moderators past and present for keeping the forums so clean, free of spam, and an enjoyable read. Also thanks to everyone who has put in the time to help out with answering technical questions the depth of help on these forums in astounding.

Happy Birthday, and congratulations to running such a successful site!

To me, MacRumors has been invaluable over the last two years, as I have relied on it to improve my understanding of Macs and how I can work with them.

A big thank you to Arn and everybody that makes this site work!

To the next eight years (and beyond)!

- Martin

Happy Bday MR! Happy BDay Steve!

jakealdred, I'd watch your YouTube vid, but it seems that YouTube is having trouble. Safari reports, after much attempt, "Safari can’t open the page.
Safari could not open the page “http://www.youtube.com/” because the server stopped responding.".

Oh well. Keep it up Arn and mods and Dr Q and Admins! w00t!
