I am probably one of the few to say this, but thank you for having a light theme!! I find dark modes hard on my eyes so this was the first thing I looked for.

color coding coming back

I think that the header of each section should be the same color of the content.
Example: The Mac section is red, thus, the header and the bar on the forum general page should be red as well, instead of blue. But it is just an opinion about aesthetics.

By the way I went to the main page and I was flashed by the white background. Are you planning to go Dark Mode on the main website as well? Thank you.

EDIT: OMG!!! I wrote this (but didn't send it) from my Mac and this message is already on my iPhone, ready to be sent. What kind of -cloud- sorcery is this???

EDIT 2: Did you read my message before being posted?? Because the header color thing is already done!!

Seriously, if I had a webpage, I'd like to have a forum like this one. This is high tech guys!

Going back to the main MR page ( light ) from the Forums ( dark ) is startling to the eyes. I hope, the front MR page is also set to auto-detect soon!

Switching to the light theme for now as well.

Another minor annoyance is the alignment of forum polls. In the previous version, the responses were centered across the screen... with this version, they are left-justified... just seems odd and out of place.

Colour coding looks great with dark mode. This is now possibly the nicest looking forum anywhere on the internet.

On the New Posts page/feed would it be possible to swap the location of What's New and New Posts? I know there is a separate New Posts button all the way to the left in the main header, but muscle memory keeps having my click What's New instead of New Posts in the second section. Perhaps I'm the only one affected by this, and if so, I will adjust. :)

Looks great everyone! One thing I noticed is that I am now seeing threads made by ignored users, still not seeing their posts within the threads though. Not sure if this is by design but thought I would point it out.

The buttons on mobile are less prominent.

Requiring a "prefix" when posting in iOS 13 forum is incredibly lame. In fact, the whole "prefix" thing is lame, annoying and actually pretty pointless, IMO.

Could you make it user selectable to enable or disable the mostly useless prefix / tags in front of every thread?

It doesn't exactly help readability at a glance. They don't have the same width so the thread titles are all over the place.

Only if you enter on the last page of posts. If you enter on another page, it leaves the thread as unread.

Handy tip.

I was used to seeing the thread read indicator change when viewing any page within a thread. I guess I can get used to this new trigger.

But I love the speed increase. In Australia, this forum was so slow, but it’s so zippy now. 🙏

Is the “original poster” notation on posts made by the thread author now gone? It seems so. I’ll double check that. 🔎 I found the notation (somewhat) beneficial while reading through a thread.

It is the little blue circle icon just above where it says Staff Member in this screenshot.

Eek.

I'm all for under the hood improvements, but this is, to me, a significant step backwards visually.

Really, I’m not one to complain, and I already mentioned I can understand that things change sometimes for the ‘better’ (Subjective word) to make the website more dynamic and fluid. But this new version to me is... broken, there are some nice things that were added on, altogether, it’s messy, seems half baked in some areas and I actually prefer the ‘dated’ version of the previous Xenoforo. However, there are some nice changes with adding dark mode, the website is more responsive when navigating to different forums, attachments don’t take nearly as long to upload, etc, but overall, this new update is a hard pass for me, but I still enjoy the website itself and members who are on here that are knowledgeable. It is what is.

Can't disagree... it's been 3 plus days, and I am still struggling to find my way...

Yeah, I’d like to consider myself tech savvy, but just everything is so cumbersome and scattered. I can appreciate some of the changes made, but somebody nailed it in an above post, it seems very ‘Facebook-ish’ the way this is set up now. Sometimes change is needed, but it’s not always for the better, in this case with this update, I feel it almost kind of degraded the website simplicity/navigation some what, even if it means others don’t share my opinion. But what saves me from leaving this website, is there is a great amount of members who are knowledgeable, and I’ve learned a lot from others, so that retains my loyalty, I guess I’ll just have to adjust to how things are.
