I guess it's ok, so long as it doesn't carry over into another topic where you hit multi/quote reply and have to then sift through everything to undo it.

Replies seem to be reliably held in only the thread they were authored in. On other forums I frequent with this xenforo software, the multi-quote function does often seem to remain populated with old quotes rendering it useless.

Looks ugly.

Once you start reading the messages it looks ok, but the main "Spy" page takes up too much room to show each new post preview. I liked the old way of showing many new posts on the spy page but now it looks like each new post is almost 1/2 to 3/4" on my screen with lots of white space around. They need to trim that down a little. I want to see more at a glance.

It's just a shame that Mac rumors forgets about it's own name.
Even in the new overview, Macs come second, under the iOS , iPhone and iPad news tabs. Yes I know this is where Apple makes a lot of money, and is where a lot of recent developments are, but this is Macrumors, so lets give them the ranking they deserve on here.

Good, I seriously hate vBulletin although it functions well they seem arrogant. But why choose XenoForo specifically?

Some of it is personal preference. Xenforo seemed the most natural progression when migrating from xenforo. Discourse and vanilla were more different. IPB is probably closer, but I didn't hear good things about it.

Thanks ... Really not - still can't see it...

It is there.

Not sure yet which width I like.

Click "Mark Forums Read" in the toolbar near the top. You'll be presented with a choice to mark the current forum read or all forums. Similar to this screenshot:

Yes, but, that first option marks all forums under that category as read. In the previous design, you could mark forums as read individually.

*EDIT*: Nevermind, I must have been looking at something else. It works as expected.

The thing that I dislike most is that short posts still look huge on the screen. there's a lot of empty room. I don't like it cluttered, but giving a one line response so much room seems slightly awkward.

I agree, a 1 line response is probably equiv of ~5-7 lines. Lots of extra scrolling.

Also, the notifications don't take you to the correct post 8 out of 10 times.

Not a bad update. Too much like iOS7/8 for my liking but good functional improvements.

As I’ve just chimed in over 400 posts late am I the only one that’s looked at the maths?
20,000,000 posts spread amongst 800,000 members, that’s only an average of 25 posts each?

It shows too few threads per page now. That's my opinion. On some forums when busy you can have dozens of threads within a few hours but now I have to keep navigating to see more.

In honor of the redesign, the new circle avatars and the fact that my Apple Watch finally arrived the other day I finally changed my avatar after two years. I designed an iOS looking blur over the iOS aurora wallpaper and it has an Apple Watch ring around it. Went through a few design comps before settling on this one. Used the San Francisco typeface and everything. Left off the "Ceramic Back" and serial number so it was close to being legible at a larger point size and added my username; which is actually a play on my initials, last name and the word mac and not because I think I'm some kind of Apple royalty. Haha—I've always wondered if my username comes off as pretentious; but it's just my last name. Anyway, on the one hand I like the clean appearance of the Apple logo in the center, but on the other hand it kind of loses some personality by looking somewhat generic. I'll have to see if I stick with it. I might just put the words "DUKE" in the middle. Or maybe some kind of illustration? I designed a monogram logo for use in my freelance business that might work there as well.

The "content area to post area" ratio is way too small. Especially the report, like, quote and reply buttons are very big. Also, the buttons are shown below the signature, which makes the area taken up by irrelevant information even larger.

- Make buttons smaller
- Make signature less wide
- Use remaining space to place the button so that posts are less tall.
