Quite nice actually. Don’t like the gaudy "NEW" signs above unread posts and the colours are a bit meh, but apart from that I quite like it.

Edit: Emoji test ❤️

Hm only the heart works from the 10 I just tested.

This sucks. I can see individual posts but I can't browse forums while at work.Stuck on old IE and I can't do anything about it. Also each character takes seconds to appear while I type.

Ugh, it wasn't broke, but you tried to fix it anyway.

The old forum software was living on borrowed time so it was time to update...

Why?

vBulletin is on its last legs and has no future. The version we are on (v3) is many years old and has been End of Lifed (no more updates). Even migrating to vB 4 or 5 doesn't offer a clear path after that.

Xenforo is in active development, and has a pretty strong community behind it. It's also somewhat similar to vBulletin in behavior/feel. There are some less-traditional forums out there, but we wanted to keep a general feel of it as is.

I love Xenforo, but I'm not sure I'm keen on this UI. Much better on mobile though, that's for sure.

Aesthetically and practically, would prefer the
thread window to be narrower (without having
to resize the browser).

Shorter line-lengths are much easier to read.

That's accurate but the problem is that it's really hard to pull off well in a forum setting. There'd be way too much wasted space with the current design in a desktop browser. On an iPhone 6, the forum is formatted well, other than too much vertical whitespace.

Not surprised to see a lot of complaints here since most people on this forum are so conservative. Everything that changes is bad.

Me on the other hand like it a lot. Well needed and well done.

I like this new update on full fledged OSes, however, it's terrible on Mobile. Some refinement for mobile would make it awesome.

Can we please get a option to sort Marketplace threads by "For Sale" and "Feeler" It is very messy right now going through the threads and looking for the "For Sale" or "Feeler" threads as some get left behind on pages.

the forum is very squished in the central column. Is the theme suppose to be responsive or fluid? Would long posts look silly just blocked in the middle with white space all around on my 27" iMac?

I fundamentally like it, although I'm so used to the old site - I currently find this refresh unfamiliar & a little confusing but I'm sure the more I use it the more I'll get used to it!!

Good Job!

I feel exactly the same. Once I am used to the "look & feel", I'll comment with other potential tweaks.

Most of us? It is fine to have an opinion but not one that comes across in such a grandiose and self important way. Just because YOU don't like social media is no reason to belittle others who choose to or find value in those mediums.

As to my opinion on the forum, it takes a little getting used to. In terms of suggestions, I miss the latest post previews that you could see before clicking a section. Can this be brought back?

I said 'many of us'. You said most. Many and most are quite different.

It looks great! BRING BACK DOWNVOTE so we can click thumbs down to the insane number of *******S that use this site including the first comment. Jeez people have some respect for the creators of this beautiful redesign!
