Yes, I use the "New Posts" link all the time. Was looking for something that I missed earlier this morning and didn't see the "Today's Post".

+ of there are no new posts there is a notion for "recent posts"...maybe that's what he's looking for.

I suppose the closest thing to a 'Today's Posts' are the 'Recent Replies' in the box on the right-hand side of the main forums page. Though it's not quite the same as what you're looking for.

Gone for a week and come back to a new site! I really like the new look, matches the flat look on my Apple devices.

Just a question: could the the hidden INSERT tags be moved to the toolbar, as they don't take up much space and add additional steps when not necessary?

The same could be asked of course for the alignment button.

Anyway, it just came to my attention when using the QUOTE tag button several times in a row.

XenForo used to have that stuff in the tool bar but moved it in one of the later releases. Seems to be OK hidden since those features are not used a lot.

I can understand the Spoiler, Code and Strike-through options not being used that often, but the QUOTE feature is used quite often by many.

With the improved ability to highlight then reply with quote or multi quote, even the stand alone quote feature won't be used that much. That's what I have experienced.

Any chance at maybe making the post report button red. Or some other color so it stands out better?
I feel the need to second this, more than once I've accidentally hit the Report button when I meant to Like a post. Perhaps change the icon color to red?

It was red during most of the testing phase, I'm glad it was made less distracting.

It should be moved somewhere more out of the way though. I liked where it was on vB.

I agree move it to the left. And maybe make the icon bigger, It is so small I can't even make out what it is.

It was on the left side last week and it had the "Reply" text in the button. They moved it over to the right and removed the text. I can just hear arn now.. "make up your minds", lol.

a way to quickly get to the reply field without quoting (already requested)

I'd like the red down arrow
… to make visible the reply dialogue beneath the last post on the page.

Already there's a grey button for 'Go to First Unread'. That grey rectangular area could be enhanced. Something like:

First unread ↓ Most recent ↓↓

However, the red down arrow does not appear when I point to where it will appear.

It's necessary to both scroll the page and then move the pointer before the arrow appears pointing down to the end.

Also, some redundancy (a minor issue): the red down arrow offers to go down when it's impossible to go down.

+1

Red should be used only where a thing demands attention, or where there is truly a problem. Not every post demands to be reported; not every post is a problem.

maybe make the icon bigger

I prefer consistent sizes.

The current problem is the gimmick: the circle.

Instead of a too-small white exclamation mark without emphasis within a dark circular background within a transparent rectangular (square) button with rounded corners, I suggest –
  • a consistently-sized exclamation mark with emphasis (bold) ! within the button
– or more simply, plain english – without shouting, one word (an initial cap, no exclamation mark):
  • Report
Logic, consistency

If designers or readers will argue a case for the exclamation mark to remain reduced, non-emphasised and encircled, then (for consistency) those people should also argue:
  1. for the pencil icon to the left of a SHOUTED UPPERCASE WORD to become reduced, de-emphasised and encircled
  2. for the double quotation mark and/or plus sign to become reduced, de-emphasised and encircled
  3. for the reply icon to the left of a SHOUTED UPPERCASE WORD to become reduced, de-emphasised and encircled
– argue for all three of the above.

I don't imagine anyone winning an argument for that set of changes to be made.

I doubt that the choice of a circular exclamation mark was intended to be gimmicky, but in this case: that's how it's perceived.

Not sure what's going on with the watched thread icons. When I click new posts I'm getting lots of threads with the little eyeglasses which indicates I'm watching the thread. But, I'm not. In the attachment there are three that show up (there are more) but I am not watching them. Is the software putting the watched thread icon on anything that you view? That isn't right. Add to the list? :D

Check to see in your Preferences, Options if you are set to automatically watch any threads that your create or reply to.

Further to this issue...when I go into the actual forum the same thread that is shown as being watched after clicking the New Posts button does not show as being watched inside the actual forum!
