Looking good so far on the iPad! Later I'll be checking things out on the computer, too..... Lots of time, energy, thought and hard work went into this transition and I think you guys did a terrific job! It will take members a day or so to really acclimate to the change, but this is off to a good start!

Am I missing something? The forum name that shows what forum the post is in when viewing new posts seems to be missing (was last column on the right). Usually it is obvious from the title but not always. I used this a lot to skip over posts to forums (like Apple Watch) that didn't interest me. Can we have it back please?

It's there. After the thread title. In a light font - hard to read.

Not being able to exclude forums from the New Posts search is kind of a non-starter for me. So far, haven't found an alternative in the forum software yet...

I see it under the title

When I open a thread I'm automatically taken to the last page/post. Being that there is already a "Go to First Unread" button next to the page list, I don't need this functionality to be automatic. How do I go to the first page/post automatically?

I don't know why but the skin feels incomplete. Borderless posts, colour palette that looks like it's a background placeholder. The switch to Xenforo might be an improvement at the backend, but the appearance for me leaves a lot to be desired.

That being said, it's not my baby but I'll probably learn to accept it.

Clicking on the time/date will get you to the first page

On VB there was a 'Top' button, or link, at the bottom of every page that when clicked automatically scrolled you to the very top of the page you were viewing. Will there be something like that again?

I'm having trouble staying logged in. Then when I click on the log in button, it gives me a warning that there has been a security issue and asks me to refresh the page. When I do that, nothing happens.

That happened to me once already. I cleared out the cookies and cache for macrumors.com and it fixed it for me.

For those three or so in this thread who have asked about number of posts per page and received no answer…this bugged me so I went looking for an answer.

Apparently, this appears to be the one foible of Xenforo. In order for the forum software links to function in a user friendly/SEO form there is no stock control for the user to change the number of posts per page. Xenforo links to the post on the specific page and not the post specifically (although you get the link from the post number) so allowing users to determine their own posts per page would throw links off. Apparently Xenforo devs are quite defensive about this deficiency too. So, the new wonderful forum software can't link to individual posts but the old software can.

The administrator of a site has this option, but it's system wide, not specific to any user. The default is 20, apparently we have been allowed 25.

Apparently, as well, there is a third party addon or plugin available that allows this, but presumably that has not or will not be installed here.

Point, then click the magnifying glass icon.

Wait a moment. Whilst that icon moves aside, refrain from moving the pointer.

Observe the actions menu icon (a cog) where previously there was a magnifying glass.

Without moving the pointer: make your second click – on the partially obscured actions menu icon.

The routine above is somewhat peculiar.

The subsequent dialogue, which drops down beneath the actions menu icon, should be reasonably self-explanatory.

When I scroll on my iPad Air 2 I see a small red box with up/down arrows at the bottom right. This box is temporary and seems to be displayed again if you scroll a bit.

I don't see subscribed threads or recent posts? Very difficult to navigate imo
Subscribed threads is now "Watched" threads and should be a menu item below the main tab bar.

Thanks. I think I figured out my issue. Has to do with a browser plugin.

Wow, MacRumors has had an iOS7 makeover.
It's very white and bright. I found the old boards much easier to navigate and threads easier to read, but like everything we'll all get used to it.
I do appreciate the background work that goes into these kind of places though.

*Why do iOS emoticons not work?
