Alert preferences are for your notificaifons on the top right. Not emails. If you look at the Options, it lets you turn off receive email notifications on replies.

Every alert is OFF and email notification was also turned off some time ago.

YET, the emails keep flowing in.

And another one just now.

Unread – from around 2015-05-04 (not from 2015-05-31)

https://forums.macrumors.com/watched/threads misrepresents – as unread – various posts from 4th May onwards.

Posts in those topics were read by me prior to migration.

With an assumption that the discrepancy is a one-off, I'll happily treat this bug as minor and negligible.

(I do not recall a comparable bug in the May 2015 open test environment.)

This option is TURNED OFF in the appropriate place which is Your Account > Settings > Preferences, under Options "and receive email notifications of replies" -- still receiving e-mails...

Are the old attachments in forum posts gone? I've produced a couple of guides and it looks like the existing attachments still appear. Will they be phased out? Is there a way to manage existing attachments in a forum post?

Is there a setting to shrink the format down a bit?
Thanks...

Rofl. Don't blame you. The design needs work IMO, but the features are far better than the old forums! :D It will be fun to play with on some later date. :)
Oh my God. I love these new features. Did you know about the "@InsertUserNameHere" feature? it notifies the person you put after the @

Good work, looks good Arn.

Erm one quick question - how do I change the number of posts. I'm an old vBulletin stick in the mud that likes 80+ posts per page...

First, major congratulations and kudos on the migration. I have done this several times for several companies over the years and i know how hard it can be.. you managed it well, FAST, quickly and without apparently too much impact or pain..

that said, MAN I HATE CHANGE.. what was wrong technically with the old version? was it not mobile friend enough? Was there not enough color, avatars, could one not make the new typical round avatar available? the old version was very fast, it loaded quickly on both pc/mac client and mobile (android and ios, and lastpass and dashlane) and now it just seems like there is a lot of overhead? I wonder what the data impact is? I use it a lot when traveling, overseas where I'm using a bit constrained by a limited data plan and I'm wondering how this will impact it..

also, the last time I saw a site more to THIS platform, they ended up seeing less traffic and losing a measurable % of regular visitors. I'm sure you will be tracking that - and well, there's really no going back

Have you tried the disable all emails link from the bottom of the email?

Honestly, why?

Shouldn't XenForo, oh, I don't know, honor the settings?

The settings are for when you reply, whether or not you "Watch" threads going into the future. I think you had existing "Watched" threads before you turned it off going into the future.

That would explain the behaviour at this end.

Just checked out the mobile version on my iPhone 5S and it looks so much better this way.

They still used vBulletin 3. I think the last update happened in the beginning of 2011. I heard that vBulletin isn’t as good as it used to be, with version 4 and especially 5 being less stable and polished. They would have had to move on at some point anyway, especially with many developments in mobile browsing. I suppose that they used this opportunity to switch to another platform.
