I forgot to check this morning. Did the points get adjusted? Or did I pull a 1 point win for the second week in a row?

It's 109-108 in my favor as it stands right now. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

You know the league manager can add or take away points if there is a reason to or a need.

I'll start the bidding at $20... :D

The league rule for a tie is that the team with the most bench points wins. It's rare, but if the bench scores are a tie then I believe the game is considered a tie and remains that way on the books.

Week 7 Results

This weeks winners are:

Team jessica (3-4) 85 vs. Dallas MSCRIV (5-2) 127

Team thegoldenmackid (3-4) 101 vs. Pittsburgh imaketouchtheme (4-3) 93

Team rhett7660 (5-2) 167 vs. Team Gauchoholics (3-4) 128

Team fireshot91 (3-4) 82 vs. Team wvuwhat (3-4) 88

Team maflynn (3-4) 115 vs. Team jecapaga (1-6) 70

Berlin Pretzels (5-2) 108 - Bench = 74 vs. miller high life (4-3) 108 - Bench = 40

As you can see above, this week's high scorer was rhett7660 who posted 167 points thanks to his power duo of Tony Romo and Miles Austin who combined for 71 points between them. Pretzels and High Life posted our first tie of the season. The highest scoring individual player of the week was Carson Palmer with 41 points and yes he was sitting on the Pretzels bench, which ended up being important due to the tie.

Looks like trade talks are alive and well. You've got a couple of weeks to continue to make trade moves as our trade deadline is not until November 25th. So get to dealing. :)

This could just be because I'm the team that lost out on this, but in the years and years I have been playing fantasy, I have never seen ties dealt with in this way. Just like the NFL, ties should be reflected on the team's record. Why espn does this is just way past me. I mean it doesn't even make sense - half of fantasy is making the right starts, your bench players do not and should not have any relevance at all.

I hear your frustration and understand your point, but I guess I see both sides of the issue. In the first fantasy football league I ever played, not an ESPN league, ties were decided this way. I can't say this is the rationale for sure, but I guess it makes the owner place greater emphasis on having the best overall team possible. This affects how you draft and how active you are on the waiver wire or in making trades. Now I fully understand that bye weeks can do a number on you if a majority of your bench is on a bye, but you've got to pay attention to bye weeks when you draft and plan out your team moves as well.

Just FYI other options for breaking the tie include setting it up where the designated home team wins the tie or assigning certain positions as tie breaker positions. For example whoever has the higher scoring QB or RB's etc.. I think you can also set it up that the tie stays a tie on the record. The way our league is set up now the only way to have an official tie is for the two teams to tie in both starting players score and bench players score.

Sorry you're disappointed, it definitely sucks to lose this way. :(

If it makes you feel any better in another league I lost by one point for the second week in a row. And the killer is that on the Eagles final drive of the game there was a play that would have given me the win, but a penalty called it back.

That's me. Honestly I haven't been invested in this at all since I wasn't able to be home and draft so I got what I got, so to speak.

Sure, but you still have 3 very good RBs, and one of the best TEs in Celek. Why do you need McMichael, who's totally washed up? I don't know why you would even consider making this trade considering what you're getting back.

If you're so hard up for a K I'll be glad to send Nate Kaeding your way for TJ.

You need better WRs, and for a top 5 RB you should be able to at least get 1 top 5 WR in return.

Trade Vetoed by League Manager

What the hell is up with the trade proposal for Thomas Jones. No way should that be allowed.

That's me. Honestly I haven't been invested in this at all since I wasn't able to be home and draft so I got what I got, so to speak.

I've vetoed this trade and the following message has been sent out.

After reviewing the particulars this trade has been ruled too one-sided to be allowed and has been vetoed by League Manager mscriv. I've got to veto this guys based on player values and the fact that it is being disputed by others in the league. I now understand that you are not paying attention Jecapaga and I'm disappointed to hear that. If you are still open to making trades despite your non-interest in managing your team that's okay, but those trades must be legit in order to be fair to everyone else in the league who is paying attention. If you guys can rework the trade where it is more appropriate based on player values then I will be more than happy to approve it. I'm not very strict on trades and usually don't like to make these kind of decisions because it's not always easy to decide player values based on different owner's playing styles and needs. However, in this case I can only judge based on player value because Jecapaga has openly stated that he is not invested and therefore is not even taking his team's needs into account.

Sorry guys, nothing personal to anyone, just trying to be a fair league manager.

Another week of underperforming players for me. At least Forte did something. Cutler, Brown, and Rice scoring under half of projected really hurts.

Oh, I hate you all . Gah, I need a new RB. Any trades for any of my current RBs (Preferably Shonn Greene), and TEs?

You've got four solid WR's and two starting QB's. If you want a quality RB you are going to have to give up more than scrap running back's and TE's. I made you a trade offer earlier in the season that included good RB's, but you didn't want to give up Fitzgerald. In fantasy you have to consider people's needs and think to yourself if you would be willing to make the trade were the circumstances reversed. Don't give up, you've got good trade pieces, but you will have to sacrifice a little bit.

No, if the starters scoring results in a tie then you look at whose bench scored more points to break the tie.

Barr08, I actually feel really bad for you. I was checking scores as I watched the end of the game and thinking to myself that your game was a close one, but it's over now because surely the Saints will just kneel down and run out the clock. I couldn't believe they ran it with Mike Bell and that he had the ball stripped. Sorry GMK, but I was actually hoping Barr08 would pick up another point with a Roddy White pass in the final seconds because it was just too cruel to consider a second week in a row tie that would result in a loss. :(

Stay tuned... Week 8 Results and mid season stats are coming up.

Week 8 Results & Mid-Season Stats

This weeks winners are:
Dallas MSCRIV (6-2) 131 vs. Berlin Pretzels (5-3) 107
Team wvuwhat (4-4) 97 vs. Team maflynn (3-5) 95
Team fireshot91 (3-5) 68 vs. Team rhett7660 (6-2) 129
Team Gauchoholics (4-4) 74 vs. Team jecapaga (1-7) 37
Pittsburgh imaketouchtheme (4-4) 68 vs. Team jessica (4-4) 72
Team thegoldenmackid (4-4) 119 - Bench = 66 vs. miller high life (4-4) 119 - Bench = 10

As you can see above mscriv posted the high score of the week with 131. Sadly, miller high life lost for a second week in a row as the result of the tie breaker rule. As you said yourself, what are the odds! The highest scoring individual player of the week was a tie between Chris Johnson (thegoldenmackid) and Aaron Rodgers (maflynn) who both scored 37 points. Unfortunately for maflynn Rodgers was on the bench.

Well, we're half way through the actual NFL season and we are just over half way through our fantasy season with 6 weekly match-ups left before we start the playoffs. At this point:

- Mscriv and Rhett7660 are tied for the lead of the Mac Division at 6 - 2
- Berlin Pretzels is leading the OSX Division at 5 - 3
- Miller High Life and Jessica are tied for the lead of the iPhone Division at 4 - 4

There are 3 teams in our league with winning records, 6 teams in our league at .500, and 3 teams in our league with losing records. Mscriv has the highest scoring total thus far with 1016 total points scored. Jecapaga has the fewest overall points scored with 632. The Gauchoholics have had the most points scored against them, 934, while imaketouchtheme has the fewest total points scored against a team with 758.

If the season ended now the six playoff teams would be seeded like this:
#1 Mscriv - Division winner (first round bye)
#2 Berlin Pretzels - Division winner (first round bye)
#3 Miller High Life - Division winner
#4 Rhett7660 - Wildcard
#5 imaketouchtheme - wildcard
#6 Gauchoholics - wildcard

The first round of the playoffs would be Seed #3 vs. #6 and Seed #4 vs. #5. If this is confusing to you then you can check the league rules. Basically, ties in the divisions and wildcard teams are ranked by overall points scored. The three division winners are automatically in the playoffs with the top two teams winning a first round bye. The remaining three teams are wildcards.

I wanted to go over this to make sure everyone understood and could ask questions if they needed.

Just for fun. At this point in the league:
- Matt Schaub (wvuwhat) is the highest scoring QB, and overall player, in our league with 198 points
- Adrian Peterson (rhett7660) is the highest scoring RB in our league with 160 points
- Reggie Wayne (berlin pretzels) is the highest scoring WR in our league with 153 points
- Dallas Clark (mscriv) is the highest scoring TE in our league with 119
- The Saints (imaketouchtheme) are the highest scoring defense in our league with 103 points
- Lawrence Tynes (rhett7660) is the highest scoring kicker in our league with 70 points
(All of these high scorers were drafted by their team owners)

I know there was a trade vetoed recently in the league, but don't give up hope. There's still plenty of time to make some deals as our trade deadline is not until November 25th.

If you have any questions or thoughts then feel free to post here or send me an email. I'm still having a blast and feel we have a great league going. It's truly anybody's game as close at the divisions are. Maybe next year we'll all throw in a little cash and award the league winner with a new iPod or something. After all, it is a MacRumors league. :D
