Are y'all going to keep doing this every month? Because if so I'm going to buy everything right now and try to compete. ;)

We'll do it again. :) And there are many other communities with challenges like this too... :D I am part of about 5 challenges currently. Look forward to you joining us!

I may be big and slow but I have heart...like Rocky. :p

Seriously though, it's been six years since I was last involved with any kind of real sports, so I'm going to be...a bit slow off the start, but maybe by next Spring I'll be able to hang with you guys.

Just logged on to Nike+ and all my info has been wiped?!

Luckily, my ipod still has all my run history, but I'm not sure if all my goal and challenge info still exists... could anyone tell me if I'm still showing up on this challenge?

Many thanks,
M

They said they were upgrading their servers last night or something...I may not be a tech guy or anything, but I do know a thing or two about computers (as well as customer service) and it all seemed very poorly implemented.

But rant about Nike's failures as a tech company aside, the information all came back up today (apparently around 3 EST). So go check again, you should be good to go!

(And on a related note...the problem wasn't that the data was gone, just that the end user couldn't see it...my data never left the MacRumors challenge, but when I logged in it said I was a new user.)

Well, best workout ever....at least that is what Lance Armstrong told me. I posted another 3.14 miles, and I am still way behind. I guess we lost our founder, he has not posted any miles.

Maybe liketom is running about 10 miles a day, but waiting to sync his ipod until the end of the challenge, to which he will rise to the top!

Below are the standings...I didn't have time to put the pics together this time, so they are in three different pictures.

:D yep i adding all my data up for one final push but it's no where near you lot

25 miles  good on you

Yeah, most of my miles are walking, although with Flowbee's running schedule, I am now running for 3 minutes between walks. It is working out good so far, although it is getting a little cold.:)

I am certain to come in on the bottom rung, but it sure is fun.

Congrats on getting to the second week. You're absolutely right to not be focusing on the physical challenge yet. It's all about conditioning for the first 6 weeks. There's plenty of time for challenge later on.

The jump to 10 minutes was a big one for me. I remember being totally wiped out the first time I ran it. Surprisingly, I was able to get through second 10 minutes after the 5 minute walk. Now I can run 10 minutes without breaking a sweat (which comes in quite handy sometimes when trying to catch a bus). It's amazing what a little conditioning can do. :)

well, in fairness (and as i've mentioned before), i'm not exactly starting from scratch. i'd occasionally run 2-4 miles in the past, and play indoor soccer twice a week... but with your schedule i wanted a fresh start, to ramp up gradually and get into a routine that wasn't overbearing and that i could sustain. i ended up only doing 2 of the first week's routine because of a crazy few days, but am looking forward to sticking through it and building conditioning, breathing, etc...

and yeah, there's definitely something to be said for the first bit of running being toughest. i always found mile 1 to be much harder than 2 or 3...

Beware of NikePlus spam! I just had one in Italian to my website address rather than my Nike + address. Dunno what it does or what the purpose is, but beware anyway...:p

I'd buggered my shoulder, so had been off the running, but it's better now and so will get back on it next week. Think I'm trailing a bit though. Oh dear.

I was wondering what happened to you Lau, you got off to a good start!

Keep at it and don't worry, I'm sure this will start again in 30 days :)

I am in week 2. Not so bad thus far. Not looking forward to next week, but thanks for the encouragement Flowbee. I'm sure I will be running marathons in no time.

I'm in! I am going to pick up the Nike Kit tomorrow at lunch, and I'll log my first run tomorrow after work. I've got some ground to make up it looks like!

Any other challenges going on? I'd like to do a most improved week to week challenge, for some of us out of shape guys. :)

mrgreen(at)infojunkie(dot)net is my email, which it looks like you need to invite me!

Looking forward to this!

Does the next challenge start on the 18th? Is this going to be the case going forward? New challenge on the 18th? Or will you standardize it some other way? I don't have my nano yet and I have a surgery on the 1st that will lay me down, but if there was one on 12-18 then I'd be in.

Well, posted my first run... boy am I out of shape! Did ~1.5mi in 20min :( alternating running and walking for 5 min spurts. Uploaded the data the system seems pretty slick, although I wish it was an offline component of iTunes. Set all my goals, so we'll see how things go!
