How can anyone give this article a negative? I just don't get some of the people who view this site. Oh well... congratz anyway Macrumors! Great site and FWIW very good articles. I always go here to catch up on gossip and late breaking news about Apple.

If you were around in the early days of this site, you may understand how this could be considered a negative.

I owe a lot to MacRumors. Following the forum has kept me up to date with what is going on at Apple. When I bought my first Mac and had a problem with it I made my first post here asking for help and it was answered almost immediately. I have received a lot of useful tips and helps since I joined for which I am very grateful.
I would like to thank those who run and contribute to MacRumors. I am always impressed by the level of knowledge and skill many members have and which they are willing to share with others on all the topics discussed on this site. I also enjoy a lot of the humor and banter.

Cheers!

You guys are the best, this is the site I refresh a billion times a day. I love the countdowns you guys put for all the keynotes that are gonna happen. Can't wait for the next one. The live streams from Apple just make it even better. Keep doing what you guys are doing. :D Congrats!!

I had enjoyed MacRumors for many years before I joined as a member. It was the buyers guide that got me hooked.

I actually get most of my Apple news here first.

Great work and congrats to all the staff at MacRumors.

I also only viewed the forums for a couple years before becoming a member. I don't recall why I eventually joined, I guess I just really liked the community and the topics discussed.

My posting frequency have dropped over the last couple years, but my viewing has not. I still enjoy this forum as much as I did when I first discovered it.

A graph showing the intelligence of the forums members, however, would go in the opposite direction. The amount of "LOOK AT MY NEW MONITOR!" and "should I buy an iMac or MacBook Pro" threads on these forums is just ridiculous. I remember the good ol' days of intelligent discussion and meaningful posting. Now it's just full of bottom feeders and ADULTS that post pictures of things that they buy. ADULTS.

Even if only a fraction of the 0.5 million members post something useful it's worth it to me. These posts show up in Google searches after all.

Congrats MR!!

OH in mod forum: Thank goodness only a small percentage of them actually post. ;)

The following members, listed by user name, have been logging in or posting for over 10 years: 63dot, balloons, barefeats, bigjohn, CompUsed, curmi, dsma, Ishan, jeremycrandell, kainjow, Mark Colangelo, mdntcallr, michaelrjohnson, nodttiurp, outZider, stukick, tviolation, and vanguys. Congratulations!

Crazy, I've been here like forever and I only recognize 4 of those user names.

Well I feel dumber after reading your comment. Are you an "ADULT"? It's hard to tell with the whininess of your post.

Congrats to Arn and the team, hell of a job. Always growing, changing, evolving. Year after year macrumors only gets better and better.

Congrats to everyone involved in the macrumors community. This is a good day.

Congrats!

Maybe the Mods could come up with a ten year badge for active users who have posted for more than a decade.

Congrats, MR!

A great site with great people. My hat's off to your success, Arn and the crew.

congrats guys! You've done an excellent job reporting rumors and news for the apple community and are often times my first stop for news on the subject.

Your forums have been helpful in deciding what kinda of computers suit me best when to purchase and when to wait and help when things have gone wrong.

Looking at that chart it looks like your growth is accelerating exponentially! It's gonna be interesting what will happen as Apple continues to grow.

How can anyone give this article a negative? I just don't get some of the people who view this site.

I think that those who rate this article negative are just people that don't like the idea of a big forum, the prefer to stay with a small and 'exclusive' forum.

It's not the quantity that matters

Not looking to rain on your parade but seriously the quality of the postings is in direct correlation to the rapid increase in membership.

I have stated this before - you need to manage your membership to ensure the quality remains consistent.

For example those who consistently post negative to every single post need to be thrown out - they are contributing nothing but hate to the genuine members who love this site.

It's becoming increasingly frustrating having to wade through posts from members joined in the last couple of months with their inane, childish troll comments.

I cannot be alone in thinking like this.

Not sure how long I have been a member, but I know I have been reading this website for years. It is simply the best as it is fair, well thought out, and brings together the smartest of the smart. Thanks.

I have 3 Mac websites tabbed in my browser at all times. Of course MacRumors, Xlr8yourMac, and MacInTouch. Between the three, there is no other better resources on Apple products and technical details in the world.

Some members simply troll the forums for no apparent reason.
