Become a MacRumors Supporter for $50/year with no ads, ability to filter front page stories, and private forums.
For example those who consistently post negative to every single post need to be thrown out - they are contributing nothing but hate to the genuine members who love this site.

It's becoming increasingly frustrating having to wade through posts from members joined in the last couple of months with their inane, childish troll comments.

If people ignored them, either by glancing over their posts or putting them on their ignore lists, or even better, reported others who break the forum rules — using the report button

— this place would become even better.

Tough moderating draws complaints but pleases others. Permitting a free-for-all also draws complaints but also makes some happy. The current balance works for most here... by everyone being part of the solution, not the problem, trolls and those who feed them would soon be starved of the attention they seek.

Some members simply troll the forums for no apparent reason.

Attention seekers mostly.

Wait a minute
are you saying
losers come here to troll
or post drivel
so they can
have attention?
I don't believe it
now or ever.

Not sure how long I have been a member, but I know I have been reading this website for years. It is simply the best as it is fair, well thought out, and brings together the smartest of the smart. Thanks.

I have 3 Mac websites tabbed in my browser at all times. Of course MacRumors, Xlr8yourMac, and MacInTouch. Between the three, there is no other better resources on Apple products and technical details in the world.

Although I agree with you, it's this kind of mindset that garners such hatred for Apple and Apple users. They say we think we are better than everyone else simply because of the type of computer we use. This is more than likely true, but let's just keep that to ourselves from now on ;)

Congratulations to all. As a new member within the past year I have found this site educational, informative and fun. Keep up the good work!

I made my account a couple months ago and I love this website. Congrats, Arn!

I have never used the Buyers Guide, but it does have a great record of Apple's products.

I was just a couple days from being the 500,00th!

Congratulations MacRumors! Keep up the speculations!

Wow, the release of the iPhone really helped this site in 2007. No wonder why there's so much iOS coverage.

Congratulations, MacRumors! I remember when this site was just a technical forum for telegraph operators in the 1890s.

Not to mention, iOS is one of the best things to ever happen in terms of helping the desktop/laptop Mac OS X platform! First by boosting Mac sales numbers/mindshare, second by bringing in new Xcode developers, and third by the Mac inheriting iOS features. All three of which will only keep increasing.

Yeah, to all of those people who get mad about iPhone news...an iPhone is an Apple computer too! As long as you jailbreak it :)

Congrats on the milestone. I haven't been active in the forums for a while, but I do come to read the articles just about every day.

Keep up the good work.

[edit] I just noticed the link in my sig is still active...

WOW,
That's impressive.
Good job guys. You deserve it.
I used to follow Appleinsider a lot but the last couple of years I turned to MR. Your site is just cleaner and easier to read.
Keep the good job going.

I had enjoyed MacRumors for many years before I joined as a member. It was the buyers guide that got me hooked.

I actually get most of my Apple news here first.

Great work and congrats to all the staff at MacRumors.

most people do this... it's weird how long people lurk before they join. Hell,I have a friend who refuses to stop lurking.
