I have been a visitor literally since the beginning. My dad and I would share articles back and forth about the rebirth of Apple. Your site brought a lot of joy and excitement to us watching Steve Jobs revive apple. My dad passed away 10 years ago, but up until the end we were always sharing news we read about on your website. He would print off articles and share them back in the early days. Memories.

:) Been here since 2003
:( wish I had bought Apple stock that long ago
You're right.

That’s the first thing I looked at too. I was blown away by the overwhelming negativity on there. Worse than it even is now. Cool to see.
I think it’s important to remember that back then what we all wanted was better, more amazing Macs. We didn’t know we needed the iPod, and it was impossible to see how an MP3 player could be the device which would set Apple on course to yet again be one of the most important tech companies in the world.

Happy 24th Birthday MacRumors!

I was a long time reader before finally creating an account in 2009. My interest in Mac’s and Apple started in late 2004 so I would assume I started to follow MacRumors daily by 2005; around the time of the Intel transition.

BTW, it's kind of fun to do a search of your very first post here on MR.

Mine was back in 2008 about some case for the iPhone 3GS.😁

I seem to have registered purely to be sarcastic:

Oh, youth!

@arn
Thank you, Mr. Arnold Kim! Your work is appreciated.

It is fitting that you launched this website on the same day as Steve Jobs's birthday because this website has the spirit of high-quality and user-friendliness that existed in Apple's products back when Jobs was CEO.

Happy 24th Birthday to MacRumors! :)

MacRumors was founded by doctor-turned-blogger Arnold Kim on February 24, 2000, while he was earning his medical degree, and it has since become the world's most popular Apple-focused news website. Fittingly, we share our birthday with Apple's co-founder Steve Jobs, who would have turned 69 years old today.

MacRumors has been around for many major Apple product announcements, including the iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and more:
(We've had such a long run that some of the images are broken in these!)

Thank you to all of our readers, volunteers, and everyone else in our community. We look forward to continuing to share the latest Apple news and rumors.

MacRumors convinced me to buy my first Mac in 2002, the first of five desktops, one laptop, five iPhones, four iPads and more. Thanks for putting me on the Apple road!

Joined in 2002. Just having switched from Windows to Mac OS X 1.0 on my ibook G3, this site and forum was the holy Grail of tech support for me.

And looking back, my first post was whether I should by an iMac G3 (lamp stand version) or a slightly higher specced eMac g4 with a an actual DVD drive lol.

Happy 24th Birthday, MacRumors! It's incredible to see how far this community has come since its inception in 2000. As a long-time follower of Apple's innovations, it's fascinating to reflect on the major product announcements covered here, from the iPod to the latest Apple Vision Pro. Each launch not only marked a milestone in technology but also in how we, as a community, have engaged, debated, and grown together. Here's to many more years of sharing news, rumors, and discussions on all things Apple!

I would like to thank macrumors and its community since 2015 for helping me to decide what products suit me the best, and whether or not i should wait before i buy.

I check your website daily. Although my background is in something else, I really enjoy all the conversations and posts.
Thanks

Happy Birthday, MacRumors. This is a very fun place to visit each day!

P.S. Those comments on past announcements are so hilariously dated. Gave me so many chuckles. In response to the iPod announcement, someone said “Why are they doing this to us?” lol. 24 years of people being offended by new product announcements. Endless entertainment.
