the bundle is poorly packaged. i don't see anything in there that's worth a dollar. :D

Multiple Macs?

Anyone know if the serials for these apps can be used across two Macs? Some of the utilities would be useful on my iMac and Macbook Air, but I'd prefer to know in advance.

Couldn't find anything in the Macupdate FAQs about this.

My question is: WHICH of these apps is NOT being sold in its latest version, or will soon undergo a major update?

I doubt 1Password will reach v4 any time too.. its a great app if you don't already have it.

TechTools 5 is also on one or two other bundles at the moment.

IMO - this bundle is great for 1password and Parallels and Techtools also.

Got 1Pass already, so my money is on Civ IV, Parallels (although I don't care about Windows) and perhaps DVDRemaster 7 (I have version 5)...but TechTool is already on v. 6, right?

Sweet, my free trial on 1pass was about to expire!

So I just ordered, and got like 10 invoices...

*Goes to makes call to credit card company*

Will the price ever go down?
Whill the bundle ever go on sale like couple days early?

Cue the moaning about a sales post

Personally its not a bundle I would buy as I've already got a number of the items listed. 1Password seems to be in every single bundle so there should be very few people without it by now!

QFT.

I have 1Password from the bundle I bought back in '04. I can't believe Civilization is in a bundle.

Once again, the only thing that I don't have that I like is Techtool Pro, but I've gone almost 6 years without the need to update my PPC only version . . . so meh.

Better Finder Rename

I'm surprised no one's mentioned A Better Finder Rename yet. I love that app. Great for renaming *ahem* media files and such in bulk, as well as other such operations.

I second the "I just use VirtualBox" sentiment for Parallels. Never had need of TechTool Pro but might be nice. I'm almost sold on 1password.

How long do these usually last? I can't decide right away...

I usually see these and never but them, but 1Password and the two DVD burning programs looked interesting enough for me to pull the trigger. Especially since I'm using MacTheRipper and Popcorn to do these currently and both are PowerPC programs. If Lion doesn't have Rosetta, which doesn't seem likely, I'd have to find alternates for both programs anyway.

Pretty sure it says 14 days (too lazy to go back and check), but I think divvy is only for the first 10,000 buyers.

Caution about TechTool %

If you're one of the people who bought one of the new MacBook Pro's with a Thunderbolt port, you won't be able to use the bootable DVD with TechTool Pro 5. TechTool Pro 6's disc will work.

I saw that divvy was only for the first 10,000 .. noticed 6,000 sales already and bought. Not through MacRumors though, you guys were waaay to slow to post the link! i checked back 3 times, it still wasn't up so i pulled the trigger. Shame because i would happily have given you the referral ..

You should. 1Password is awesome. If I didn't already have it I would purchase this bundle. It's basically like buying 1password and paying 10 bucks for 10 mac apps. Awesome deal

1Password is invaluable. I bought the family plan, so I can hand out licenses to a few close family members.

I use dropbox, put the 1password keychain there, and bam! all my macs have all the latest up-to-date passwords protected by 256-bit AES security.

1password even has windows support now (Mac 1p is better)... so when I'm on a windows box, I also have access to my password data.

Dammit - wouldn't you know it. I just last week upgraded Parallels and 1Password. The only other app I might want is TechTool, which granted is a good deal here. I've heard horror stories about v5 trashing people's machines though...

I've been a VMWare Fusion user for a while now, but I'm tempted by this bundle just for Parallels, which I've heard has better performance and integrates better with Mac OS X.

I downloaded Fusion about two years ago to run a VM that was given to me and found it horribly buggy. Perhaps the version I ran just couldn't handle a VM running on an external drive (and it was one created with VM Workstation on a PC for whatever that's worth), but it consistently locked up on me and at least once required me to restore my VM image from a backup. Performance was also rubbish compared to what I was used to with Parallels 5 (might have even been v3 I was running at the time; I skipped v4).

After that experience I swore off Fusion (I do use VM Server occasionally on my Linux box but prefer VirtualBox) and have stuck with Parallels. I recently upgraded to v6 (as I mentioned above, sigh) and it's even faster than v5.

I think VMWare makes some great products, but in my experience they have some work to do on the Mac.

I also can't run Parallels very well with 2GB ram, I use Bootcamp anyway.

On an Air? I think you'd be fine. Until last week I was running Parallels on my 1st-Gen MBP and it only had 2gb of ram. It wasn't a speed demon, but it was adequate enough for my MBP to be my primary work-from-home machine. With the speed you get from the SSD in your Air, I think your 2gb of memory would be okay. You can always download the demo and give it a shot...

Of course Windows now runs insanely faster on my 2.3ghz quad-core i7 with 4gb of memory :)
