ya not to point out the obvious but i am...

the small talk(iphone nano) will be big(amazing, features.....)

sorry for pointing out the obvious....haha

So - too early for predictions?

Like a new and improved iMac? (minor tweaks to the form fator. Mostly the guts. Nothing teribly noticeable)
Or iLife '09 that is so smart that it can recognize you.
Or the convergance of the Mac Mini and the AppleTV?
Or the iPod Nano which can do everything the regular iPhone can do...within reason. No GPS, camera, or ability to download apps. (Basically a PDA phone). Why? Because it will sell for $99.

And maybe...just maybe...we'll get some unannounced speed bumps to the Mac Pro and the iPhone. But those are mostly wishful thinking on my part. I don't look for the Mac Pro to get any significant updates until the summer WWDC. And the iPhone...well...I'd put that one at 50/50. NAND Flash prices are steadily declining. On the other hand, Apple may want to build in some larger margins to brace theselves for a sluggish 2009.

"Even the small talk will be big"

Refering to the iPhone Nano?

It is more likely to be the MacMini as it will boast a brand new build up from the ground with a new and IMPRESSIVE graphics card compared to its size. This and the new Processor and more ram will probably make it as impressive as the first time they introduced it back when it was amazing how small a computer Apple could produce.

This is what I'm aiming at, I think they'll re-introduce the Mini with a lot of powerful new features.

Personally I think that maybe they'll (if fortune shines on those who want a tablet) introduce that long awaited tablet to compete with the MiniLaptop craze out there. Personally I'd love one if I could get one as a second computer for my on-the-go work, both academic and professional.

But that's just me wishing it will become that and naturally an impressive introduction to the fully awe inspiring Snow Leopard. (meaning it's got to be faster than a bat out of hell before it's even going to make an impression on any common user out there. It's the few who use it for heavy work such as HD video rendering and 3D images.) Either way, if they can impress the common folk, they'll have a good update, maybe even justifiable to ask the $129 for it again. Personally I think they should ONLY ask $69 for it and accept the fact that it's just a tune up and not a full featured brand new environment. Sure it's built from the ground up but still... try to explain that to the common user and make him or her buy it for $129. That's a hard sell.

Whaddya think?

And the fact that it's not Apple's banner, so it has nothing to do with Apple, hasn't gotten through yet?

I don't think so... I mean I don't think people get that part. But I think most people are hopeful and wish for something great like in the old days when Stevo introduced the iPod for the first time or the iMacs.

Again, tension will build and rumors will fly left and right... by come Tuesday, we'll all either shake our heads like we've done so many expos ago, or jump up and down like a crazed teenage girl seeing her idle blink at the masses.

Whatever may come this Tuesday, I'm sure, Apple will eventually have some kind of effect, good or bad, depends on Steve's presentation or lack there of.

Maybe we'll get all emotional and sad to see Steve leave or angry if he seems defeated. Etc... we'll have a ton of emotions going on after the show's over.

Here's for hoping for the best and wishing Steve a goodbye if he leaves or doesn't want to participate in the expos anymore.

Thanks for the excitement though, it was fun while it lasted Steve...

THINK DIFFERENT

Product : Mac mini
Recommendation : Don't Buy - Updates soon
Last Release : August 07, 2007
Days Since Update : 515 (Avg = 188)

Ouch... that's been a while... didn't know it was THAT long ago... I am sure something quite special will either be reborn into this wonderful little beast or this is where we'll have to say goodbye to a wonderful little machine that's served so many users over the years.

sorry for pointing out the obvious....haha

here's obvious and pointed out several times.

it's not Apple's banner, it is an IDG produced MacWorld banner.

has nothing to do with what Apple may or may not say.

Those are the desktop line of Nehalem chips, called Core i7. The Mac Pro uses the Xeon line; server chips. Code name: Gainestown. We don't have an official name for them yet, so I don't call them Core i7 because I've heard rumors that that might just be the name for only the desktop chips.

Makes perfect sense, thanks. Perhaps we should sticky your post, haha.

sorry guys, just a little off topic note/question thing:

If apple were to do a slient update of the 17'' MPB's, would they do it on the 5th or 6th?

Just a question :p

Is IDG playing with us?

This seems to tease the two least likely possibilities I have heard leading up to MW:
  1. iPhone Nano
  2. macbook teensy-weensy or whatever the netbook would be called
The explanations for these are as follows:
  1. No way. Not Happening. Don't get me started.
  2. I don't see apple doing this unless they can do it as big as the iPhone:D, or at least the air:(. At least not until Steve-o's back in town.
My guess: IDG is trying to prove they can stir the pot and pack it in without Mr. Jobs. So far, it's working!

Did no one read the first post. This sign is a MacWorld sign and most likely has nothing to do with what Apple is or isn't showing. This isn't remotely similar to the air ads. Sorry, still no nano.

For those who keep trying to remind people it is just an IDG banner save your breath.

People want to believe that an iPhone Nano is coming. Let them! Nothing will be more satisfying then the sounds of crushed hearts. :D

Sincerely,
Steve Jobs ghost

At least the title on the front page was changed. It was misleading before... (in a Gizmodo-douchey kind of way)

They should have a huge mailing envelope like they used for the MacBook Air announcement and Steve Jobs could jump out and say how thin he is :D
