All that said I am sure they aren't gonna be realeasing a media (and for that matter a file server) any time soon. Too bad for them because I am going to get my raid, four bay nas very soon and they are gonna lose my sweet $, I am gonna have it sync everything between my machines, have it always on, and access it any time I want to remotely via the web. So long :apple: suckers....

I don't think that Apple will miss your "sweet $"...

I disagree on the Blu-Ray thing, granted its not a blu-ray thing to show media in 1080p but everyone who I show decent quality HD 1080p on a normal sized TV in most homes are amazed by the difference. If blu-ray is to survive it needs to drop in price on the media and players to replace DVDs.

I similarly disagree, Blu-Ray is much higher quality and offers alot more than digital downloads. you get many language tracks, subtitles, making of and ...
much better sound and video.

now if only the HD tax on discs weren't so high on some titles... something i hope gets better in 2009, when the economy is front and center. rumors of physical media death are sadly greatly exaggerated.

Just wondering . . . when is Apples MacWorld keynote? GMT pref.

as in date, i know the times 5pm gmt just nt the date

I just want some iPhone compatible in-ears Apple !

Oh yeah and a consumer tower, hell has to freeze over someday so why not tomorrow ?

iPhone OS 2.3 would be nice as well, there's a good chance at that IMHO.

Just a guess but...

i think they will announce some good stuff, just to break us to someone else giving good big announcements. When I first heard Schiller would be the keynote I thought, "oh well no big announcements then" but then I thought about it some more.

I hope I wasn't the only one but I feel like a jackass.

I totally though the Keynote was today and was all pumped for it.
Now I've got another 24 hours.

The realisation dawned on me over the weekend, very annoying at the time but now even more time for outrageous rumours to propagate.

I'm waiting for the iphone to get upgraded to 32gigs... what does everyone think the chances of that are? Have read a few things hear and there, but doesn't seem like there is a lot of news on it.

17 Unibody Macbook Pro Removable Battery & iWork.com

Over at 9to5 Seth is now saying that the 17 Unibody MBP actually will have a removable battery.

He is also pointing towards www.iWork.com which now goes to Apple.com, possibly been like that for a while, or pointing towards these apps going to "the cloud"?

Google Chrome is still a little ways off for Mac users. However, if you search "Google Chrome for Mac" you will be directed to a webpage stemming from Google.com where you can sign up to find out when Chrome for Mac is released the minute it happens. Pretty cool!
i don't want to wait any longer!!

I just read that article too. Jeez, at first i thought a non-removable battery was *********. Should have stuck to my guns instead of later asking for forgiveness because I thought I was wrong.

I know what i'm talking about !!

All I have to say is that if they don't upgrade the computers across the board with the latest and greatest tech. I'm QUITING apple.

There is no way that I should pay so much money for something technology that's dated.

I want this...

iphonenano.jpg

I would love for Apple to announce an updated iPhone 3G and an iPhone nano both available in June just as they did the original. All of those who purchased the original iPhone will be done with their contracts by then and an updated iPhone or new nano will keep them in the ATT fold (for good or bad).

I had the original iPhone and it has crapped out so I am in the market for a new phone but not another full size iPhone because the data rates are just too much in this economy. I believe this is the one factor remaining that is limiting the sale of the iPhone. Millions of phones could be sold to new customers if there were no data requirement.

I am hoping for a nanophone that does not require a data plan. For instance any app that normally connects via WiFi, edge or 3g could be data connection disabled in the settings only allowing WiFi access. For those who purchase data it can be turned on.

A new iPhone nano could have all the same features as the current iPhone with bluetooth axed to save space and with 4 and 8 gig models.

To make the nano make sense, the full sized version the iPhone 3G could be upped to 16 and 32 GB with other features as well like a second camera on the front and iChatAV (mobile video conferencing).

Some seem concerned that iPhone Apps would not work on a new form factor and I don't know the tech behind that but it seems to me that Apple has dealt with that situation before when moving to intel and they were very adept at helping programmers convert their apps. It would not surprise me in the least if Apple were to release a tool to developers that could convert their apps to a new screen size in under a minute or something crazy like that (maybe it will even res up for a tablet form factor)

If the Mac Mini FW800 + new Nvidia graphics rumor is true, I'd be half tempted to get one to replace my PowerMac (if I could find FW800 enclosures for my internal drives that stack nicely so it doesn't look like crap on my desk). It sounds like it would be a nice AppleTV replacement for the primary room of my home theater as well, although I'd want to be able to use it as an Airtunes device.

I want Apple to sell the iPhone themselves. I do not want to have to purchase the phone through a carrier.. something around $249 no contract for a iPhone Nano would be amazing.

Yeah like heck they aren't....

BUT the original quote which somehow dissapeared was
so long drama queen...

ha,ha,ha...I am taking lightly what you said hence the laughter, I hope you understand that the "suckers" bit was to apple co. not any of the forums users. Btw, wish I were a drama queen, I am too much of a rationalist...but maybe 4 gbs of data and growing and no file server or nas just some half baked time capsules from my favourite computer co. :apple: can turn me into a wee bit drama queen...gotta keep all those gigs safe man!!!

Welcome to 2006. 2007 if you're that picky.

Ha,ha,ha,ha, great one. :D:D

Sometimes these phones sure are funny...like a couple of days ago when in the thread about the no replaceable battery in the 17" macbook pro, a fella went like: "this will bring the bitching to a whole new level."
