any spy shots not taken in an elevator are obviously fake...

This will be the third macworld since i've joined MR.

Visual Merchandising

I used to work for Apple Retail... It's fairly common to receive packages from Visual Merchandising. It could be anything from window displays to new shelves. A box that size could easily just be new shelves, shelf hangers, acrylics, etc. Nothing major to read in to.

oh, we only saw what they wanted us to see

if that screen was showing the ultraportable (Macbook Air, or whatever) it would have been covered up much better.

Garageband is nothing significant for Macworld. Maybe they're just having a workshop on it or something...

The GarageBand pic is from the 'booth' so will just be Apple's classroom, conference type things, not the keynote. So I guess you can calm down somewhat on trying to figure out the significance of Steve using it.

yes, I didn't see your comment earlier....that's what i was just trying to say

It could just be the photo, but the menu bar appears to be quite big... Tablet Mac? :p

Or it could just be that they're connecting the computers to the projectors, and haven't corrected the resolution settings yet.

A camera on the face of the iPhone isn't practical unless you are in love with yourself.
Must be an "in-the-air" finger sensor, mouse type, pointer thingie.

Everyone is missing the obvious connections between "AIR" & "GARAGEBAND".
Apple has created a touch sensitive wireless "AIR GUITAR".

Is this is Apple's new AIR device.

http://www.beepboombop.com/?p=66

It's a wireless NAS

500GB or 1TB
802.11N Only
Bonjour Networking
iTunes & iPhoto library storage
Any Apple wifi device can stream from it & sync with it
$399 & $499

Well that picture is obviously photoshopped. I doubt someone would get his hands on the original photoshop file (see all those layers in the top right?) used for the apple site. An Apple professional would at least have saved and named his file (not "Untitled 2"). Also it's too geeky for a consumer product. Ask your family if they know what a "NAS" is.

what confuses me..

What confuses me is this picture:

mwsf08sabato41.jpg

because of the red sticking out from the top of the tarp

And this picture:

because on the lower right hand side there is a small banner which clearly says "system software" when you zoom in on that text and then a strange brown logo....

What could this mean?

What it means is the top lining of the curtains is red and the brown logo is for the company setting up all the audio/video equipment.

You're actually looking at the Apple booth not the keynote area.

Then why would they have such a huge banner for "system software?", and the reason the red is so confusing to me is because that color doesn't come to mind when I hear the word "air".... :)

And I knew that this was in Moscone west, where apple's exhibit would be found, which leads me to conculde that this is the bannor that is all about the new product.....

You answered your own question. Why would they have a huge banner that everybody could see?.It's called advertising.

It looks more like a red lining on the curtain to me, look how it bows in the middle with the curtain and a black line can be seen accross where it sags.
