Still not as exciting as past MacWorlds :(

ChrisN

Agreed..

Late with the banners, none to really try to read something into (too much stretching for the "small talk will be big" thing - especially since the banner is not Apple's)

No Steve

Laptops were already released in October

Ipods were released in September

Scant unbeleivable rumors of iwork/ilife revamps (cloud)

Mini and Pro - pretty much neglected for a while. Only some talk of a mini revamp.

So - I think so far it is safe to assume:

Iphone nano - or some other iphone news

talk about iwork/ilife

Status update on Snow Leopard

Hopefully some insight on what happened with Steve and why this is the last Apple Macworld appearance.

Does not really sound like much to me. although with all that is talking about touch patends and the appstore - lets hope maybe a tablet this year. But personally, I have not really seen or heard much that has been wishing and checking my account balances to see if I will be making a purchase.

Basically.

Why can't we get some spy shots taken by some people that have some actual skill, or with those with better than iPhone cameras.

One day, there just might be a spy shot that is not only convincing, but in focus as well.

Classic! Thank you - that is one funny post.

Well, MacWorld 2009, at least. Since there won't be an iPhone nano, we'll have those to deal with for some time.

You know there'll be an iPhone Nano Skil! It will be available only for Sprint and Verizon as well.

Honestly, the only thing I hope to see at this MacWorld is an update to iLife and iWork. Maybe a new little thing here or there, nothing else.

I do not think anything spectacular will occur nothing has in over a year all it will be is the much needed iMac and Mini updates.

Will John Mayer be there?

The 7-9" iPhone-based tablet.... it'll be called.. get this:

iWalk!

HAHHA remember that? :D

i don't know what it more disappointing. that AppleInsider felt the need to post this total non news. Or that MacRumors felt the need to repost it.

I sincerely apologize for what I'm about to say.

Apple is going to announce the new PowerBook G5!
WOOOOOOOOTTTT!

Sorry again... If I didn't do it, someone else would've. :p

All my dreams come true! I am going to sell my car to buy it! it's big enough to ride down a sloped street right? Great for winter sports, keeps you warm when you're sitting on it!
I KNOW that's what is under the sheets, I just know it! Thank you AJ, thank you for taking a peek... oops! peed my pants...

not at all.

hidden banners simply mean that they don't want you to know what is going to happen and they know that their people can't follow the confidentially agreements they might have signed.

that's it.

wait... are you saying Apple's not going to unveil ANYTHING!? What?Say,What?

It's very disappointing that Macworld 2009 will be the last (at least with Apple, anyway). This is the most exciting time of the year for me.
There are a couple of moderately interesting rumors doing the rounds, but I really wanted an Apple TV update. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Mini and Pro - pretty much neglected for a while. Only some talk of a mini revamp.

the only items left are the desktops. there is likely to be some talk with them. even if it is just that the imacs are getting the same graphics as the laptops, plus the new display port and a release date for the adapters to use the LED with older computers.

Iphone nano - or some other iphone news

or not. a handful of overseas case sites listing 'iphone nano' is proof of nothing. and I don't see it happening. perhaps a 32GB phone coming up, but no iphone nano is my assumption

talk about iwork/ilife

doubt it has to do with 'the cloud'. improvements on imovie's tools, numbers and such perhaps but I don't seem them being ready to take the apps online given the trouble that the current mobile me is still having

Status update on Snow Leopard

agreed. and perhaps a first look.

Hopefully some insight on what happened with Steve and why this is the last Apple Macworld appearance.

the only comment from Apple about Steve is likely that folks need to shut the F up about his health, it's none of anyone's business and he's not doing the speech cause he's not the only person at Apple with a brain and it's time for the world to get that through their collective thick skulls -- which they have basically said several times already

and they already explained why they are pulling out of Macworld -- they don't need it anymore. there are other and better ways to do their announcements. the "lets rock" and notebook events being a prime examples. add to this that Apple hosts the WWDC barely six months later, sticking with MacWorld makes little practical sense.

Honestly, the only thing I hope to see at this MacWorld is an update to iLife and iWork. Maybe a new little thing here or there, nothing else.
Unfortunately, I think you are right.

interesting. can't wait for the keynote!
Likewise.

But it just doesn't seem the same without Steve giving the Keynote.

Since this is their last one, maybe Apple will have a few tricks up their sleeve.

wow OMG OMG its a guy wearing a headset.. OMG...just one of the production people now why can't one of those white covers "accidentally" fall off :p

I think the most likely thing is that the preview of Snow Leopard will use the new versions of iLife to do some multimedia processing.

Two for One.

Besides, what better way to show off the new speed than iLife?

My question is who puts these banner-covered signs up?

Never in MacWorld history has any of them thought to peek behind the banner as they put it up?

The format is interesting. All thin horizontal banner, no long hanging banners that have been fairly common in the past.

How about a Mac thini
