a release date for the adapters to use the LED with older computers.

Would be Nice. although, I already went out and bought a 19-inch LG and am using my mini-DVI to DVI adapter. Only problem with my rigup (LG Monitor, separate amplified speakers, 7 port USB hub, etc) - all the darn cables. with the LED I could eliminate half the cable clutter

doubt it has to do with 'the cloud'. improvements on imovie's tools, numbers and such perhaps but I don't seem them being ready to take the apps online given the trouble that the current mobile me is still having

Well, I do not want to start another rash of posts, but I do not know what your talking about ... After the first few weeks, Mobile Me was acceptable to me - minus a couple of down times; now it is better, no problems from what I can see. I mean if I do anything in the cloud (web app), bam instant push to my mac. if I do anything on my mac - well, there is that timed thing, but we are only talking a couple of minutes. I have mine set to sync automatically. and my Entourage calendar also sync quite well. I let my busysync/busymac and my syncman trials expire for my Gmail, but that worked well too (could sync gmail and mobile me to have backups of each other and it did not matter where I made the change) Are the remaining problems an iphone thing? Cause even my iweb website hosted on mobileme has been good. I have not used idisk per say (am not one to have my documents floating around an internet), and well with only one mac (the mini is my wife's and she just uses it for music and internet); I have no need for back-to-my-mac.

Seriously I want to know - because there is a rumor  (maybe a joke) about the iphone nano coming to sprint. I always wanted to trade my year old centro for an iphone, but I have a sprint contract.

the only comment from Apple about Steve is likely that folks need to shut the F up about his health, it's none of anyone's business and he's not doing the speech cause he's not the only person at Apple with a brain and it's time for the world to get that through their collective thick skulls -- which they have basically said several times already

and they already explained why they are pulling out of Macworld -- they don't need it anymore. there are other and better ways to do their announcements. the "lets rock" and notebook events being a prime examples. add to this that Apple hosts the WWDC barely six months later, sticking with MacWorld makes little practical sense.

Chill out dude! I see your point. I was not refering to his health. I was referring to a statement of why all the news at the last minute and maybe a little information on the future direction of apple. especially since it seems they are coupling themselves more with microsoft (exchange support, running windows in bootcamp, rumors of web apps, etc), and all the focus on consumer products. Pro users have been miffed recently. I am not a professional video or photography by any means, but I use my mac every day for many hours doing that as a hobby for people.

Finally a MacWorld when we don't know every little detail. Goodness. I'll love to be surprise this year. Maybe i should stay off this site until the 6th, huh? ;)

I'm actually hoping that Snow Leopard starts shipping this month, along with new versions of iLife and iWork. Maybe a new version of the iphone firmware too?

It seems so long since Apple has released software. I think it would be nice for their final appearance at Macworld to be software focussed.

A new iphone firmware would be nice and so would SL but I doubt it will ship.

I think that the only software move that would be exciting enough to be the centerpiece of the final Macworld would be the ultimate software move - Apple announcing that they are freeing OS X from being on Apple-only hardware and would allow OS X to install on any hardware. Since I don't think that's going to happen any time soon, then a software only Macworld would mean a boring Macworld to me.

If the iPhone or any version of it were ever on Sprint's network I'd be more excited to NOT have to pay full price for a damaged/lost/stolen phone. Getting a new one in the mail within a week or sending the damaged phone in for a new on immediately would be a HUGE plus for lots of intelligent buyers.

Other than that the bill would be much more reasonable, and the 3G speeds much more consistent and faster.

Not to mention the already happening rollout of WiMax.

I wish that could be a picture of Jobs. I hope he gets better and is at the next big public event.

Just another thing... Who took the picture of that white banner? Maybe they could have taken a peek while they were at it.

Looks like Paul Otellini

maybe...

Still not as exciting as past MacWorlds :(

I am getting excited, but it is just so depressing not to have the Stevenote :( I am dying to get some info and see what happens. Is Steve really ok? Is he sick? Is he really going to retire soon now and fade away? Say it ain't so Apple :( I will never have my dream of seeing a Stevenote live realized now it seems :(

Pretty sure it's just Random Tech Guy. Actually pretty sure I know the name of this guy but I'm not saying. Black collared shirt is standard Random Tech Guy apparel at these rehearsals though, and if you look at his head, he's wearing and Clearcom or RTS headset, which is what the crew uses to communicate with each other, and the "talent" (Jobs, Schiller, etc.) NEVER wear these, even in rehearsal.

Well you know Al Gore did win an Oscar for his Keynotes so it wouldn't be a bad choice... ;)

What about: >Snow< Leopard and thus a white banner... Or maybe apple is investing in education, and invites kids to paint still somthing. :)

Well i can still wait three days, dont worry too much about it. If there is something special, it won't run away. We will see, we will see, we will see...

Maybe the banners actually have the iPhone nano on, but it's so small that you can't see it?:D

I hear ya, the last few days are the meanest. Several times now we had all the details one or two days before the event spoiling the fun, almost impossible to do but i'll try to steer clear all the news sites until the event.

I heard that Steve jobs isn't doing macworld because he had to take on another job due to the recession.....

Can' wait till "Frito-Lay World 2010"

Maybe already been said but....

White = Snow = Snow Leopard

or perhaps just enhanced ilife 09 - (desktop, iphone & web based etc)

...there's not many white hardware products left except for basic Macbook, Airport, Time Capsule & iPhone (presuming Mini will go black/silver)...

update: damn! just an iPhone Nano - boring...

I think (hope)

I think that there will be lots of goodies for Apple to show us. Apple is going to go out of macworld with a Bang.

i also think that the reason for the dropping out of macworld is due to Steve leaving apple or stepping down as CEO.

i still think that there is a chance steve will appear in final keynote to say goodbye. :apple:

I'm guessing the "even the small talk will be big" slogan is hidden behind the white banners as well.

Packing up today and heading out to SF tomorrow. Looking forward to spending a whole week at the LMWE. ;)

OMG if Al Gores the new CEO then we'll have IRecycle and ISolarPoweredPod!! And the only reason we'll get much wanted blue ray drives given to us by Apple is so we can all watch his film in high definition!! :apple:
