I'm also having a problem with washed out flash pics with a foliage color case. Purchased directly from Magpul's ebay so it has the enlarged camera/flash cutout.

As you can see in the picture, cut-out looks off-centered. (It looks like its a little lower than it should be.) So I'm wondering if this may be the problem.

My friend liked my case so much he ordered the same one, but his cut-out is also off-centered like mine.

Wondering if everyone else's cut-out is off-center, or if maybe I got one from a bad production batch.

Looks like the field case is the one to get, thicker lip for lay on the table and larger camera cutout.

Don't get me wrong.. I think the Executive Field is an EXCELLENT case.

Build quality is top notch. The four little ridges on the sides naturally fit your fingers when you are holding the phone. The material is a bit denser than your typical made in China case, and gives the impression of more durable protection. The front lip protrudes just enough (like a millimeter) to give it sufficient "lay on the table" protection. The power & volume buttons may look "bulky", but are surprisingly sensitive enough so very little pressure is needed to activate. And the foliage grey color looks great on my white 4s. Only problem I have is with the flash/cutout.

I had actually ordered a different case from a very popular company, but unfortunately its been almost 3 weeks back-ordered as they need to await shipments from China.

Ordered from Magpul USA, and received in 2 days! So now I'm giving the made in china case to my gf (when it eventually get here).

Problem is the orange case allegedly gets the flash washout, ie. needs larger cutout plus black diffuser around the camera hole

All the cutouts with that shape are off.

There are some of these on Amazon too, 3rd part sellers, I saw em as low as 9$ + shipping. Im getting another orange one :)

I ordered a foliage one and waiting for it to arrive. Hoping my pics won't be washed out. What about a DIY mod to darken the area around the camera hole? Something that looks like this?

I'm no photography expert so please chime in - could we just color the inner area around the camera cutout with a black marker? What would it take? Or is the issue that the cutout just isn't large enough?

in theory it should work because the reflection someone here posted of the orange case shows a slight orange tint. I don't recall someone doing that before so you'd be the first.

My case hasn't arrived yet, I'm happy to try once I have it. In the meantime, anyone willing to try this simple mod and post back?

It works. I just tried it with my orange Field Case and it took away all the orange tint that the case had been giving low light photos.

Not sure, just going off this picture from earlier in this thread. Good to read all the good feedback about the product.

Might be a dumb question, but is the case on the right the black Magpul or something else? Looks fantastic on a black IP4 and seems like it would be great for protection as well.

Hi guys, so last Friday I decided to finally order a case for my 4S and I decided to get the magpul executive field case, because the price was right, and it had been receiving great reviews here. I ordered the case last Friday and I finally received it today (about and hour ago)

Here are some photos of the case I got.

I like the case, but I don't love it. You definitely get what you pay for here. It's thin and it looks great, but I couldn't imagine it giving a lot of protection from a drop. The plastic give me this weird feeling of being constantly moist, I dont know what thats all about.

Also, as you can see with the last photo the case I received doesn't have the perfect fit, if you look closely on the left side of the phone there is a slight gap. Now, this didn't happen because I took the case off numerous times. I took these photos immediately after receiving the case, and this was the first time putting the case of the phone.

Overall the think its a pretty good case, but it isn't the best out there. IMHO.

yeah the reports of moistness on the black glass/inside of case worried me a bit, I believe they're posted earlier in this thread. His solution was to remove the case and wipe down every now and then.

I've dropped my iPhone on my cement garage floor several times and just KNEW it was toast but survived without a scratch every time.

Can someone help me out with these colors? I want to get the one described as Gray or the one at the bottom of the image below. Its seems like one is brown/beige, and the other two earthy colors are both shades of green. Which is the one that most looks gray? Is it the Foliage? Appreciate the help!

As far as I know, Magpul doesn't offer the gray/silver case anymore. It used to be listed as a color choice when purchasing on their website, but it's not anymore. It's my favorite color of the case. Glad I snagged a few of them when they were still available!

I believe it is foliage..there's another thread on here where someone matched the names in a picture

I received mine today and it has the same deformity on the left side. Leaves a small gap that I really am not happy about. Anyone else have this problem? If so, did you contact Magpul about it?

thats one thing that I really, really hate about case and this phone that they don't fit perfectly. If my don't fit perfect, their going back

Even with out the phone in you can clearly see that the case is defective! it comes out, with the phone in, is still comes out same way. Is there a hot water solution for this at all?

Well got the case I ordered. Dont really like it.

Its not fit snug (especially around the volume controls)...which is going to let dust enter.

Does feel wet and just dont like that.

So, I have one for cheap and will offer it up in the marketplace.
