I want to say that I do like my Magpul case, but the sort of stiff button feedback bothered me. I looked back through this thread remembering I saw a suggestion to improve button feedback. I found it in post #201 by chris975d. I tried this today on my spare Black E.F. case I picked up. I have to say it makes a huge difference in the button feedback. If anyone is contemplating trying this I can assure you it's invisible when it's done. My Exacto blade didn't even feel like I was cutting the material. I will say be careful and don't make the cuts any longer then shown in the pictures and don't try and go back over the cut after it's done. Just do one slow controlled cut and stop. I will re-post the pictures. Thank you chris975d!

just orderd a black exec case off ebay, $14 canadian to my P.O Box. Magpul don't ship to canada from their website. When I get it I'll update the "show your current setup" thread.

This is on my shortlist too. Retailers in Singapore sell it for 30sgd. Will probably get one soon.

I know I sound like a stuck record but even on the review copy iLounge has pictures of I noticed a slight gap around the volume buttons. If I bought this case it's all I'd see. I know it doesn't affect performance or use but it would bother me.

I'm not a salesman for Magpul, or trying to tout my own choice of case, but it bothers me when I see criticism as yours above that is not even supported by your reference to iLoung. Here is the link to the iLounge review from summer 2011. The article makes no mention of the volume gap and the photos show no gap.

http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/magpul-executive-field-case-for-iphone-4/

Here is the iLounge photo (orange). and I included 2 from my own black exec case. Mine was bowed when first received, but 'relaxed' after a few days. I also have another Exec and the Field, they fit just as well. the flash issue on the field and exec I solved with a black Sharpie-brand pen.

I suppose even if I had a 'slight' gap ( and there can be seen some glimmer of the metal antenna at different areas of the case, which is normal, IMO), I would not be upset. The reason I have tried so many cases, is that none is perfect. Either by design or manufacturing. The NGP is great, but I don't like the overlap over the screen. A Vulcan just fit very badly, and didn't like the glossy finish. The incase snap-on, didn't protect the top and bottom, and a bit thin.

The Magpul, for me, is overall, darn near perfect for what I'm looking for, and for what I've seen before.

I have to agree with viewfly, I'm very happy with my Magpul case. I too had a gap by the volume buttons but it has worked it's way out. The slimness, feel and protection of the Magpul case is the best I've encountered with the numerous different cases I tried. After I did the button mod as detailed above this case is just about as perfect as I've found. Here are some pics of my volume button area:

My Field and Field Ex. both fit 100% perfect and I am extremely picky about this stuff. I recently got both direct from Magpul.

well its obvious that the case is more or less perfect. There are exceptions, like the wankers touting their case has a slight bowing in spots. Maybe they don't know how to install it. Maybe they stretched the **** out of it trying to get it on. Anyway. When I get mine, i'll update my post in teh "post yoru current setup" thread with a one sentence review.

I put mine on without much force. I go around it and push firmly on the phone with a micro fiber ensuring it is properly seated. I have zero gaps on my field case.

Just got my case(s) too. Fit nicely. Exactly what I was looking for. Coming from a mophie charge case, I have to say, the fit, feel, texture and quality of this Mogul executive case is superb. For $10, can't beat it.

I got my executive case in foliage yesterday for my 4S. This is my favorite case that I have on any of my iPhones. The slimness and feel in hand are great. For 10$ hands down best case. I ordered the black at the same time but it's on back order from Botach.

Do most of you guys just put the phone in without a protector/zagg on the back? I had one my first iPhone but not for the replacement and I think the case fits better.

No back screen protector here. Never see dust in the back either. Only around camera opening which makes sense

I've got a carbon fiber skin on the back. The case fits fine with the skin. I put the skin on after reading about a few people getting scratches from trapped dirt/dust.

anyone else besides me get notice from botach saying they are out of stock? Ordered maybe a couple weeks ago. About ot contact them and see what the deal is, original email said no ETA on restock but if they dont know by now Im guessing they never will and will pursue my refund (ordered orange for me, pink for my wife, both field cases)

Hmm, that's odd on their part. When I ordered my black and foliage cases, they emailed me 2 days later (IIRC...it could've been the next day) and told me the black one was back ordered and wanted to know if I wanted to wait for it to come back in stock or go ahead and send the foliage. I opted to just get the foliage and cancel the black (I didn't want to wait).

They never gave me an ETA on the black being back in stock, though. They seemed really helpful, so they should be able to help you out no problem.

I have the Field case in black. I recently dropped it while getting out of my truck (I'm a Baltimore City Firefighter) from a height of around feet or so. The corner was a little scuffed where it impacted the street, but there was absolutely no damage to my phone. I can't speak highly enough about this case. For the price, it absolutely can not be beat. It holds up marvelously around the firehouse. I'm probably going to order one of the Exec cases as well based on my experience with it. If you're on the fence, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I bought my fiance a pink exec field case (I have a field case) and hers has a slight gap at the vol buttons but my field is perfect. Must be that the exec is a little thinner and Isnt as rigid although they are both rigid. Just my .02. Also she had a Skinomi shield on the back that I had to remove to make it fit this case correctly. I have put a phantom skinz shield on the front and that doesn't affect anything bc the case doesn't cover the front at all. Just a slight lip.

Great story! I like hearing some real world examples. Gives me confidence too.

P.S. The field case is thicker than the Exec. I use the Exec, but also have the field. I noticed tonight that my Field doesn't fit my docks...it is too thick to make good pin contact.

The Exec works fine however with the same docks on my Kilpsch and Apple Dock.

I ordered the iPhone 4/4S black executive case from Botach and received an email that this case is out of stock with no ETA. Magpul was out of stock, so I ordered from Brownells, which is an authorized dealer for Magpul and had the case in stock. The price was $10.00 plus $6.00 shipping and no sales tax in California.

Got my Field Case yesterday from an eBay vendor who sells a lot of Magpul stuff. They seem to have plenty in stock at 11.39 shipped. I think they are named apexcivic

I'm a case junkie and I have to say this is my favorite one.....so far anyway out of 5. The fit is perfect(with a skin on back) and I like the material a lot. It's not a dead skin/lint magnet and gives a good solid grip. It is not bulky at all! So far I've run into two connectors-not-fitting issues. One is my car cable. That thing is massive and I'll probably just Dremel a little plastic off it. The other is my 2.1 PC speaker system that plugs into the headphone jack. That connector is also massive and has had troubles with other cases. Not a big deal though since my old Touch is usually connected to it anyway.

I have a bag full of IP4 cases that don't fit the 4S (mute switch is out of alignment), so looking for a new case. This fits the bill,, just worried about ordering one and having it not fit the 4s.

The site says 4/4s but how can it fit both?
