Just picked up the Belkin mount from an Apple store. Seems sturdy enough with a naked iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Curious little thing. Let me know if you end up ordering. These are $15 from Ali too and I’m wondering if they actually hold as well.

knock offs are starting to appear. This one is Belkin knock off and charges too. I’m thinking about ordering one.

Good video. Too bad he didn’t test driving with no case as I don’t use one. Seems to be very solid. There won’t be as much shaking like in your hand with all that force. i don’t see phones falling off this at all.
Can you take the back vent mount off?
I don't want to mount to the vents. Just want to lay it flat on the dashboard.

I drive pretty fast and take turns hard. No issues yet. Seems fine with normal bumps so far.
Can the Belkin be changed to other mounts types? Is it a standard ball mount?

Well I ordered one. It comes the 7th. If you get yours before that I will be real interested in what you think of it. I don’t use often and as long as it keeps the phone topped off it will work for me.
I have the ESR halolock for my Pro Max without that orientation magnet and it holds the phone perfectly without any rotation whatsoever. It is also much better looking than the belkin one: it is smaller andit is black, which blends much better into most cars' dashboards
Charging is not a must for me. I have a cable charger if the power from the ESR Halolock is not enough though. For me, the most important part is the mount function. In any case, I am absolutely sure the 7.5 W will charge the phone while it is being used, if anything because charging with that poser is much faster than discharging over the day with heavy use of the phone.

Except that it looks absolutely hideous and the cable is always in your way as it cannot be disconnected. My ESR blends perfectly into the dashboard (same color) it is rather small and the charging cable can be disconnected as I don't need it 90% of the time I'm driving.
Well I debated and debated and finally decided what the heck and ordered. Supposed to come on 7 Dec.
Check availability about once a day. I’ve been just seeing one month ship lead times till I saw them available nearby suddenly one day. Same thing with HomePod Minis.

Did it show up as available in store for you or did you just walk in? I’ve been seeing people picking it up and mine isn’t supposed to get here until next month so I’m considering just picking it up in store. But on the app it shows out of stock, which I believe is due to a lack of appointments for pickups. But when I called the store to ask if they had it in stock, not only can I not reach the store itself, but the person on the phone told me they see the same thing I see. Debating just driving to a store to see
I ordered this one. Coming from China so might be awhile. It comes with a vent mount and sticky desk mount also.
Just ordered this from eBay for $20. Should be here in a week or so. Gonna shave the back nub off and stick it to a ProClip with a 3M pad.
Will post a review, etc. when it arrives. Definitely not using the charging portion because of wired CarPlay.

Also curious on this too. If the ball can be seperated from that holding piece it should work if it’s the standard ball size
