I drive pretty fast and take turns hard. No issues yet. Seems fine with normal bumps so far.
How does the back feel, is it soft or hard? Looks aluminum but I know it’s not. Don’t want this thing giving micro scratches on the back of my phone without a case. Lots of vibration in a car I’d think it would be moving a little possibly.

I should receive mine pretty soon (from Aliexpress)
Do you all using a magsafe case?
I bought an usb-c to lightning cable (short one), on Aliexpress, they didnt specify if its lightning or usb-c

Something weird is going on with my set up ... it looks like when I attempt to charge my phone below 80% or so, it’ll go in and out of charging and really drain the battery.

I’m guessing the magnet on my existing car mount is doing something to the MagSafe charger when it’s below 80% and it’s trying to draw too much power? I tried it with both new USB C chargers at 21W and 30w car chargers. Even tried a different car outlet, same experience.

As soon as I removed the MagSafe away from the magnetic car mount, the phone started charging just fine.

If anyone could test this with a similar set up let me know. Thinking of starting a separate thread for visibility! Curious to see other people’s experience.

Did you place the MagSafe directly to your magnetic mount, or did you place a metal plate on the back of the MagSafe, and then mount? I placed a large metal plate on the back of mine before mounting and have experienced no disruption in charging.

I have not placed a metal yet as it all worked great when I first tested it. That was my next thing to try out. But when you have no disruption in charging, are you below or above 80%?

Above 80% or so, it actually charges just fine. Today was my first time using it below 80% to charge and the battery drained so quickly and it never charged. The charging symbol would go in and out. And I’d lose battery life. I’m going to try the metal plate next. According to Apple one needs to:

Place your MagSafe Charger face up—as shown—on a flat surface, clear of any metal objects or other foreign material.

So many requirements for MagSafe apparently but my next thing is the metal plate.

The lowest percentage was at 68, with a steady charge. The metal plate on the back of my MagSafe pretty much covers the magnetic mount head, so there’s not much chance of interference.

Thanks for your help. I’ll use the metal plate next time I’m in the car. Just found it so weird that is wasn’t charging one bit after trying a few things. Hopefully the metal plate I have works good enough!

Has a slightly rubber like feel.

Anyone know if these wireless charging mounts will cause a burn in on the Apple cases like the MagSafe charger?

I don't think they really burn. Its when you twist the magsafe around all the time its rubbing into the case. If you get a mount that has the locking lower magnet this shouldn't happen. At least that's what id imagine.

Keep in mind, my answer is all speculation here. I would say that it is perhaps possible, but much less likely. The reason MagSafe does that is the heat produced from 15W charging. Assuming you get a 7.5 or 5W charger you should be good. If it’s a crappy charger with no cooling, then maybeeeee you might start noticing it but then again it’s unlikely

how hot you think these chargers get to wear into a case like what ive seen? Not sure if its heat seems rather weird. Haven't messed with one so I don't know how hot the back of the phone or case feels.

Found both the vent mount and OtterBox aneu in the same apple store. Heading out shortly to pick both up, as I ordered both immediately. Hopefully, the mag safe in the aneu is as strong as it needs to be

Quick follow up to this. Looks like when you put a metal plate between the MagSafe and the car mount, this allows for the phone to charge when below 80%.

Seems that all of the magnets without a plate cause some interference.

If it’s coming from China (as mine did), the China-US is part pretty fast and the biggest bottleneck seemed to be customs
So how many days did it sit "in customs"? My tracking shows "last mile local post" for the last 4 days? And the USPS tracking shows "tracking info received" but no item?

Update hone with both. The vent mount is great, the Aneu is going back. The TPU is loose all over.

Will stick with the leather as to use the mount the case needs MagSafe.

Found the Belkin MagSafe vent mount in one of my local Apple stores and quickly ordered for pickup on Black Friday. After using for a few days, I’m loving it. Magnet seems pretty strong and haven’t noticed any movement, although you do have to make sure it’s lined up properly. It’s not hard to do, I stick it on and it mostly hits the right spot, but a couple of times I had to nudge it over slightly for the right spot. It is a little tricky to turn to landscape mode at first, but I think that’s just because its a little tight out of the box and if you just try to turn by turning the phone the mount doesn‘t turn, but after a couple of days it seems to be loosening up a bit. I just try to grap from around the and moving the mount as well.

edit: I’m mostly using it with a California Poppy leather case on my PM. Tried it once naked, seemed to stay connected well.

Gotcha. Well I guess that makes sense. Again, magnets are stronger when you try to pull them apart perpendicular to each other, rather than slide them parallel. For the sliding style action, you'll want as much friction as you can get like a silicon case coupled with the silicon ring on that charger.
I use the ESR mount with a leather magsafe case and the phone is firmly stuck to the mount. It does not move at all.

Question for Belkin MagSafe Vent Mount Pro owners.

Can the vent clip be removed and the body attached with a ball mount? The photos suggest that there is a ball mount there but not exactly sure. I have a ball mount system (Ram) and I'm interested in using a MagSafe phone mount connected to the ball/socket system.

Was the magnet on the Aneu as strong as your leather case? I saw a YouTube video where the person said it wasn't.
