Was the magnet on the Aneu as strong as your leather case? I saw a YouTube video where the person said it wasn't.
Its strong, but not as strong. I also wonder if the weight of the case adds into that.

It would be a great case if they could get the TPU right, but it pulls away from the phone everywhere.

I will be back to the leather & silicone today

So anything that will mount that is wired for CarPlay and charge too? If not will get the brodit holder with lightening adapter attached, or maybe try that wireless adapter and belkin but won't charge.

Huh? Will charge too?

Don’t know how carplay works is it wired to the deck? So it takes a usb? that cable should charge also so the Belkin is fine for a holder. You don’t need wireless charging if your CarPlay is wired and your phone needs to be plugged in.

Most cars that have Carplay have the wired implementation where you plug your iPhone with a lightning cable into the stereo's USB port. Some newer and luxury cars as well as higher-end aftermarket stereos have wireless Carplay that uses both your iPhone's Bluetooth and wifi connection for Carplay to run. 90% of the time if you have wireless Carplay you'll also have wired Carplay.

If you have wired Carplay the cable will obviously also charge your iPhone. If you have wireless Carplay you'll only need to plug your iPhone in if you need to charge it.

I meant that CarPlay wireless adapter you can get so you don't have to plug in.

I have one of those. You plug it into your car stereo's USB port and it turns your wired CarPlay into a wireless CarPlay. You pair your phone with the adapter's Bluetooth AND wifi.

These adapters only work if your stereo has wired CarPlay.

I see. I’ve always done wired with a dac back to my dsp. Never wanted CarPlay I bypass my stock stereo entirely. Still hoping Apple doesn’t drop the port in the future. Not a big fan of Bluetooth

I got the Belkin and it works awesome. The phone doesn't move at all. It's on the far right middle air vent on a 2018 Mustang. I don't really care about wireless charging because I have to be hardwired for Apple CarPlay. Found it in Caesars Palace Apple store last week. The person helping didn't even know they had it.

Which one do you use? My dad is looking for such a thing for his car. I don't have CarPlay in my 2013 car so non-issue for me... but he is keen on getting wireless.

I'm using this one:

I like this one because the cable is removable and you can use any length USB cable you want as long as one end is type-C.

So I finally got the one I ordered on eBay for $25. Feels very cheap, also can with an attached regular USB cable. I thought it came with a detachable USB-C but apparently I miss read or assumed wrong. The glossy black gets dirty and is a fingerprint magnet already after just removing from the box. The hold is actually good though, I don’t think my phone will come off of it unless I hit a major bump. I’ll spend some more time with it and see how that holds up. I’ll test out the charging on it on my way home from work. If it doesn’t charge well I could always just clip the cord and just use it as a mount. Edit: I added a metal plate to the back so it could attach to my existing mount. It came with the prices for a vent mount but I don’t care for vent mounts so this is the route I went with.

I just tried to use an old magnetic CD mount and the magsafe charger holds really strong to it. Anyone else tried this?

I've tried to search this thread for a previous mention but came up empty -- anyone intrigued by this car mount/charger like I am? I like that I can plug in the cable if I want charging, but can just use as a convenient mount otherwise. Seems to have the handshake required for 15W, and has the bottom magnet too...
