Thanks for letting us know and disappointed (I ordered one, too, but haven't received it yet).

Curious to see you mentioning that the Zeera has a magnet on the back of the charging disc. I wonder whether it can just be connected to basic magnet vent mounts directly (without a ball mount, which I don't want/need, for a lower profile solution)
Yes it can, and mine came with some adhesive disks as well!!! its a good way to go you won't be disappointed.

that Zeera has a few knockoffs on eBay and aliexpress. I may pick one up. that's all I really need is for it to stick to my current dash mount. I don't want an ac vent clip.

it can use USBc to charge or nothing which is perfect for me to use carplay, I'll need to plug in the phone.

I'm also looking for one that will stick. I have slim vents and the one to the right of my steering wheel is going to make it difficult to put my 12 Pro Max on and be able to see it.

So I bought a "knockoff" zeera from Amazon. It's very similar BUT it won't produce the lock screen animation when charging- therefore not true 15w with the NFC chip. And the magnet is SLIGHTLY weaker. I would be weary of any non-Zeera version unless someone can chime in on their experience saying it does do 15W

I also bought this one from ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/353290876573

I like the look, the magnet is the strongest yet. Despite the description it does NOT do 15w charging either. I think I will return them both and get a 2nd Zeera for my car.

same. Mine arrived today and the magnet is way too weak to drive with, with an Apple leather MagSafe case - and confirming that no, despite what it says in the description it does not truly support MagSafe.

mine looks like this. I'm thinking of removing the magnets, get some strong double sided tape and stick a better mag safe puck to the back of it? maybe I'll need to unscrew and see if the ball could be attached to some of those mag safe chargers being sold.

does anyone have one from Aliexpress that has a good hold?

So I ordered one from eBay. Wasn’t expecting much but was surprised. It was black with white ring, garment ball and spring loaded claw to attach to vent. It surprised me how solid it was. Attached to vertical vent and it was solid and then plugged usb c wire into bottom and other end into usb c power plug. . When I put phone on the plate it locked on and was solid. And to my surprise the magic charging circle appeared. I will attach two pictures but I am completely surprised and happy.

I got mine from here:

It does have a removable USB-C connection. It does have a 17mm ball socket.

It does not have the positioning / orientation magnet though. I can easily spin the 12PM on it though there's enough grip that it shouldn't spin on its own if its in the car.

Using a 20W Apple charger and Apple USB-C cable, it only charges at 3.03W though.

If you are confirming that this charges 15w and shows the circle, I'll buy one now!

I can’t confirm the 15W, I don’t have any way to check. I can confirm with Waze running the iPhone (about 15 min) went from 77% to 81%

And I can confirm it gives me the circle

It looks just like the one I got though obviously the innards are different since mine doesn't activate that Magsafe charging animation nor does the positioning / orientation magnet seem to actually exist in mine.

For those contemplating Zeera, I got mine and it's useless. With a glass screen protector on the back, it slides off instantly. I can't use it at all. I tried without the glass screen protector and it's only slightly better. It will hold at first but one bump and it's on the floor. This is with the 12P. I can't imagine the Max holding at all.

The magnetic attraction I see on mine is nothing at all like the YouTube videos. Even without the back protector, it's not very strong on the bare phone.

And on another note, using the vent mount the thing just wiggles like crazy. It totally unstable. I was expecting to use the small fixed mount instead which was the only reason I selected the Zeera over other choices out there. My new plan is to use something else that I can put a metal plate on the back of to mount to the fixed mount that might hold the phone.

So far MagSafe sucks as far as I'm concerned. Apple did a terrible job. They would have been better off putting the magnets only in the mount and a metal ring inside the phone.

Putting in multiple magnets of that tiny size to hold a phone vertically? It just doesn't work very well. Great if it's lying down but who uses the phone like that.

Now I understand why Apple doesn't have a vehicle mount.

I'm starting to wonder if there's ANY MagSafe mount that can properly (firmly) hold a 12 Max in a car. Surely the Belkin one is Apple-approved and should, but having tried a couple, they all stick but just don't hold hard enough to be confident when I hit a speed bump. It may just not be physically possible? (even without another case/skin/protector, which I think is a bit of an unreasonable expectation -- I'm talking either bare or with an Apple MagSafe case)

I bought the same one from the same eBay seller. Black with gray ring though.
The link is in my past posts.
I initially reported that it doesn't display the magic circle but after seeing your post I checked again with a different power supply and bingo! The MagSafe animation appeared.
Orientation magnet definitely works too.
:)

My Apple MagSafe Charger attached to a magnetic bar in my car works fine and holds onto my 12 Pro Max with Apple leather case just fine.

I ordered a third party copycat charger to see if it will work similarly so I can cut off the cord. Waiting for it to arrive.

please keep us updated on how it works. this was another method I was thinking. for now I have the magnet that came with my dash mount in between my phone and leather case.

I did the same, but it doesn't hold nearly as firmly as my old Xvida qi car mount did. The phone has come off more than once, and rotates pretty freely. Again, this is with the Apple leather case (also tried with an Apple clear case). Maybe I should just change my driving habits :)

But I might just go back to the metal plate and the Xvida mount.

I think the problem right now is most of everything that is available was made very quickly after it was announced to get it out the door for launch and not thoroughly tested.

How would one go about using an existing car mount with an oem MagSafe charger? To ensure charging, would a metal plate need to go on the back of the MagSafe charger to prevent magnetic interference?
