I picked up one of these in the end - not sure about availability outside of China, but it's worth looking out for. The clip holds perfectly on my vent. Magnetic strength between phone and mount seems good. I'm pleased.

For those contemplating Zeera, I got mine and it's useless. With a glass screen protector on the back, it slides off instantly. I can't use it at all. I tried without the glass screen protector and it's only slightly better. It will hold at first but one bump and it's on the floor. This is with the 12P. I can't imagine the Max holding at all.

The magnetic attraction I see on mine is nothing at all like the YouTube videos. Even without the back protector, it's not very strong on the bare phone.

And on another note, using the vent mount the thing just wiggles like crazy. It totally unstable. I was expecting to use the small fixed mount instead which was the only reason I selected the Zeera over other choices out there. My new plan is to use something else that I can put a metal plate on the back of to mount to the fixed mount that might hold the phone.

So far MagSafe sucks as far as I'm concerned. Apple did a terrible job. They would have been better off putting the magnets only in the mount and a metal ring inside the phone.

Putting in multiple magnets of that tiny size to hold a phone vertically? It just doesn't work very well. Great if it's lying down but who uses the phone like that.

Now I understand why pple doesn't have a vehicle mount.
Do you have the original Zeera or one of the knock offs? I have the zeera I drive a Mini Cooper with a sport suspension that bounces like crazy and my 12P holds tight. I will agree the vent mount is weak but I think vent mounts usually are. I have the MagSafe case on it and havent tried it without the case on the car, but I tried at home and it seems like it works the way they have it on the video. Maybe you got a defective one?

I'm starting to wonder if there's ANY MagSafe mount that can properly (firmly) hold a 12 Max in a car. Surely the Belkin one is Apple-approved and should, but having tried a couple, they all stick but just don't hold hard enough to be confident when I hit a speed bump. It may just not be physically possible? (even without another case/skin/protector, which I think is a bit of an unreasonable expectation -- I'm talking either bare or with an Apple MagSafe case)
I have no problems with the AliExpress ones I got and posted links to a few pages back. They hold my 12 pro max without a case very strong. I tried with a case and it has no problems either(apple MagSafe case). Even after I added felt around the sides and top small corners. It doesn’t grab as hard with the added felt pieces it kinda hovers over the ring and doesn’t leave an imprint on anything anymore. Holds the phone fine.
don’t go with puck style that are larger than the MagSafe magnets or you’ll run into problems. stick to ones that look like the Belkin with the lower magnets and you’ll be fine.

That one looks quite nice. Also interesting to see they list the exact same PD profile as the Apple charger.
If you like that one but are not in China, this one looks almost identical:

I did purchase the original Zeera directly from their store. Took 12 days to get it. It stated on their website it was the version 2. The strange part is when I got it it was a bunch of small boxes with each item in it's own separate box. None of the boxes have any branding on them. No brand name or any reference to Zeera or any place else. You think it they made it it would have their name on it someplace. It seemed like every item was more or less generic.

ProClip has "bare" holders if you want to mount something they don't specifically support:

I'm sort of thinking of getting one that's flat and using a command strip or epoxy to glue the Belkin to it.

That’s exactly how mine came..... that’s weird that it’s not holding how it should! I would email them. I’m also using a MagSafe case... haven’t tried it driving around without a case

I ordered a third party copycat charger to see if it will work similarly so I can cut off the cord. Waiting for it to arrive.

I just received this one

The cord is USB-A so there’s no way I believe that it’s charging at 15W but it does show the MagSafe animation when I connect it.

EDIT: It only shows the animation sporadically. The magnet is good and strong though so for the people wanting to cut off the cord and just have a magnet this isn’t a bad candidate.

I got the 1st gen Zeera from Amazon and I like it so far better than the ESR.

- The vent mount is rock solid in my car (will not move vs ESR could easily be pulled off)
- The charging disc is much more compact than the bulky ESR and the whole setup is lower profile (doesn’t stick out as much from the vent)
- I don’t mind the integrated ball mount (vs the magnetic disc of the 2nd gen) and I’m guessing it makes it more low profile since it doesn’t have the added thickness of the magnet. I don’t see the point of the magnet connector if it will only be used in the car
- Some have commented on weaker magnet strength compared to the 2nd gen. This is what I’ll need to test for a while before fully committing. I don’t have a 2nd gen but it definitely is weaker than the ESR. That said, it doesn’t seem weak enough to fall off (so far) and it’s easier to remove from the mount

ESR definitely going back. Now just wondering whether the 2nd gen Zeera or Teckape are worth trying.

- Is Zeera 2.0 available anywhere else besides its own website? I couldn’t find on Amazon.
- Does pulling the phone off Zeera 2.0 ever pull the charging disc off the mount (since that is also a magnetic connection)?
- Anyone try the Teckape (or others with different brand name)?

Anyone aware of something like this but without the ball mount (just the charging disk connected directly to a vent mount)? I don't really need a ball mount (and it is another point of weakness/play) and it would be much lower profile without one.

It looks like the Tozo and the Zeeera are both just wireless charging pucks that come with their own magnetic vent mounts.
If so they should work with any magnetic vent mount and vent mounts without the ball are easy to find.

2nd gen Zeera is but Tozo (ball mount built into the back of the charging disc) - which is 1st gen Zeera - is not.

Most magnetic vent mounts have just the rubber segments that rely only on friction to hold on the vents and are not solid/durable. I like the Zeera vent mount because it also has a hook that keeps it in place (and works well). So I was asking specifically about whether any of the magnetic vent mounts have that type of hook

I have used the ESR and one I got off eBay. Both hold my 12 Max just fine. Phone doesn't move at all. I don't mount ot a vent however. I have a mount fixed under my dash (2019 Ford Raptor) that just screw the mounts on to. I have the Zeera on the way, but will probably stick to the eBay mount to be honest.

any photos of the one you use?

So I finally got the Chinese car mount. Was glad to see it fit the 17mm ball AMPS adapter. Installation was simple and this path is cheaper than the alternatives. (Around $20 give or take). Pretty satisfied with the integration with the Proclip. The magnets seem strong enough to do the job. Don't care about the charging since I use wired CarPlay.

Thanks for this! Finally receiving mine tomorrow. Might just 3M it to the ProClip instead of using a ball mount.

The MagSafe car mount is the same one everyone has been buying off of AliExpress, eBay, etc.
Do you not use the twist lock nut over the threads and ball to tighten or loosen it? Or you keep it fixed in one position mostly?
also the mount looks aluminum on the sides and back from the pics. What material is on the front? Any rubber soft material outside of the ring and bottom magnet?

I did use the lock nut, just not pictured. Once tighten, it’s sturdy and I position the Mount more towards the driver side.

The MagSafe Mount is aluminum. Decent quality but it’s pretty light. Only part that is plastic is the ball connector.

I’m sure you can use it without a MagSafe case if your case is thin enough. TBH, I am really not sure if the magnets would be strong enough to hold through a non-MagSafe case. Someone else hopefully can attest to that.
