Here. I believe ProClip and Brodit are the same product for different markets? Same products and same model numbers. Not available on the Australian store holdmyphone.com.au, but it’s Christmas Day here so I don’t expect anything for a few days, if not Jan. may be that the ProClip site hasn’t got them all listed yet either.

Brodits international site also has a listing with the various options. This page shows the foots adjustable and works for all model phones. https://www.brodit.com/searchList.h...mDevices=1&mmVehicles=0&deviceModel=iPhone+12
hold my phone has the standard holders on backorder for weeks, they don't tell you that on their website i had to ring to find out, doubt they will have these magsafe holders anytime soon.

Will these magsafe holders work with CarPlay plugged in?

Got this one off ebay, useless junk, was used and marked too. Vent holders are rubbish, seller refunded immediately after seeing photos.

Those are just holders that hold the official Magsafe charging puck.
The magnets in the charging puck will hold your phone but you'll still need to connect your phone to your car via the phone's Lightning port.
So you'll still need a cable going to your phone and you'll need to tape or tie-up (or cutoff) the cable on the MagSafe puck which you won't be using. Seems a waste to me.

So with the proclip you won't?

I bought one of the wireless CarPlay adapters from AliExpress and surprisingly it’s working real well.
Lots of info in this thread.

So all the people saying they can’t use a MagSafe charger because of CarPlay — there is a possible option.

I got one from Amazon and it too is working very well in my car. Glad to have this decently working Magsafe charging car mount.

is there a cliff note version of the wireless carplay? I haven't read up on it.

The adapter?
Little box you connect to your CarPlay stereo instead of connecting your phone. Old version had a built-in USB-A cable. New version has a USB-C port and you use a USB-A to USB-C cable.
You connect the little box and leave it connected. Then you connect your phone to the little box via Bluetooth.
Every time you start your car, the box connects to your stereo and your phone connects to the little box.
Voila! Wireless CarPlay.

Yeah, want the MagSafe ones but myself.

MagSafe doesnt do data so not so good for CarPlay. May as well get the standard ones with data.

Does anyone know a good car cigarette lighter with fast charge (15w)?
Mine came from Baseus but it doesnt work since its too long/big for my car cigarette plug
I have a xiaomi model without fast charge and it works OK (i have to turn in order to get LED, otherwhise it doesnt charge either)

DO NOT BUY THE ESR

I received the ESR Halolock Magnetic vent clip wireless car charger yesterday. So disappointed in it. It just will not hold my 12 pro max to the charger for any length of time. It just falls off during normal driving around town.

I contacted ESR to get a refund and send it back. They responded that they wanted me to send a video of it falling off before they would consider a refund! Total BS!View attachment 1699761
You must have gotten a defective unit. I just received mine today and tried it out...my 12 Pro Max with Silicone MagSafe case sticks to it “like a rock” just like the other person said on here. Looks great too!

I just received my TIMESS holders from Amazon and the vent hooks are plastic and not metal. Way to ruin a rock solid design. That hook takes all the weight of the charger and the phone. Not to mention the constant stress of being tightened to the vent. I sure hope it can hold up.

Buy a nicer mount for your vehicle. One that has a 17mm ball attached or a way to attach one. Then pop the Timess onto it. Problem solved and much better than vent clips.

It really isn’t because the TIMESS is going back. Another good holder but a garbage charger. I drove 20 minutes and my battery dropped 4%.
I bought two of them so I’ll try the second in case I just got a dud but so far it’s looking like the same crappy eBay/AliExpress charger but in a nicer plastic housing.

EDIT: This charger needs more investigation. With a PD 3.0 cigarette lighter adapter it displays the MagSafe animation but the charging is horrible. That was my configuration above where my battery dropped 4% while driving.
Switching to a QC 3.0 charger actually improved the charging (battery went up 6% on the trip home) but it no longer does the animation.
I could care less about the animation but I’d really like to know why they designed it the way they did.

I have this one I use at times when I need a quick charge and not using Carplay. it charges fast.

I ordered one of the baker flush mount cig lighters with usb c one and usb a 2. I need it flush because it goes under a little door and the cable is routed inside of the dash. Should have it this week. I’ll see if I get the animation with either one.

I'm going to request a replacement for mine! But I do have to add that on good road conditions mine stayed on pretty well too. But dirt roads and it did not do so well.
But maybe i have defective unit.

So finally received my third-party knockoff of MagSafe Charger ordered from Aliexpress. My setup is a magnet mount which I had placed the Apple MagSafe charger on (see photo) and then mounted my 12 ProMax with leather case to it. This worked well and was very secure when driving.

Wanted to try a knockoff and if worked planned to snip the cord and just leave the charging puck on the magnet. The knockoff I received looked good initially including the packaging (see collage photo). The charger itself did not have the quality feel of the original Apple. The back housing on the Apple had a quality metallic feel while the knockoff was more of a plasticky feel. Putting it on the magnet mount the knockoff did not have the snap to the mount like the original Apple charger. Mounting the phone with leather case onto the charger did not have a solid lock like the Apple did. It did hold the phone but did not snap in place solidly. On the road it did hold up the phone through normal traffic and mild to moderate bumps. Pulling the phone off the charger however most of the time would pull the knockoff charger off the magnet mount as well. This was remedied by putting one of the steel plates on the back of the charger and it was not pulled off the magnet mount after that. Overall I probably won't be using this for what I intended to do with it.

As for the charging, will have to update this later as I just realized I don't have a USB C charger to connect it to lol.

Photos attached where both chargers are pictured has the Apple on the left and knockoff on the right.

***EDIT*** tried the knockoff connected to a USB C charger and indeed it gives the charging animation.

This is the charger I'm using:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082ZY5GXX/

I installed a hidden 12V DC socket inside my dashboard and plugged this into it. I'm using a UGreen right angle C to straight C cable to go from the charger to the Magsafe charging mount (same model as x-evil-x's).

I bought a TOZO clone on eBay and it’s my favorite so far.
Might even be a TOZO. The packaging is identical to the customer photos on Amazon.

The reviews on Amazon complain about the magnets but mine has the strongest magnets I’ve tried. Even without the orientation magnet it holds my 12 Pro even in landscape mode.
And unlike the other ones I’ve tried, this one actually charges.
Only a QC 3.0 or a USB-C PD charger produce the MagSafe animation but even using a regular old Aukey 4.8A USB-A it still puts out enough to charge my phone under heavy usage (but without the animation).

I’ve tried that one and the Tozo from Amazon and the one from Amazon (has ball socket integrated directly into back of charging disc vs charging disc being connected to a second magnet that has the ball socket) has a stronger magnet
