Yes this vent mount isnt the best, i have two cars, its sightly better on first car but my iPhone 12 Mini (even worse if you have 12 PM) on support has tendency to lean back

Go on dash mount / suction pad / cd slot
The magnets of this holder are pretty strong, i would personally keep it and attempt to fix it to another holder mount

I haven't tested those kind of dash mount

I did test this one, but hook has been broken due to my multiple testing (i over tightened lol)

It will depend of your own car, if you have good spot for dash mount, you can go for anything with ball mount (its standard)
For vent mount, opt for those which you can tighten the hook/arms

CD Slot:

sadly it's not useable for me. just keeps falling off

dunno if the vents in my merc are different or what

I got this : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VHX1R9B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And, while the magnet ( w/o a case ) is amazing, the clip that goes into the vent outright sucks ( tried on my Lexus RX, M5, and Land Cruiser )

Looks like I may have to just get the Belkin car mount from Apple and use a wired charging solution...

Looks like it might have one of the generic ball mount so you could replace the vent mount part to something that works better

Here is Aukey magnetic vent mount, even if its an advertising, you can clearly see how vent mount with hook seems to be more sturdy than that vent mount provided by iButliv / Hatalkin and co
Once tightened, it doesnt move at all, its one of best vent mount i have experienced (keep in mind the hook seems to be little bit fragile, do not remove and tighten a dozen times in a row like i did, once tightened, do not touch it anymore)
Anything with hook and knob to tighten will help holder to avoid leaning up/down
Belkin Magsafe car mount has even worse vent mount solution
(from 8:20, it goes up and down and too shaky)

Anyone tested the strength of the Satechi ”MagSafe” charger?. Would like to stick it on the cars dashboard but would the magnet hold it steady?🤔

Official Magsafe magnets strength is really weak
The one with hook vent mount, i did similar test, it did fall off after 10 seconds, its fairly identical
I can confirm my model has the strongest magnets out there

Magsafe car strength

Official Magsafe < ESR Halolock < Magsafe with hook vent mount < My Magsafe car mount (i provided many Aliexpress/Amazon link before, its commonly sold out there)

Using this with an official Apple MagSafe charger my phone loses power while using GPS and listening to a podcast via phone speaker. The phone also gets warm and dims the screen and I am using the 14.5 beta so along with the screen being on for navigation could be the issue.

Anyone else experiencing similar either with beta or the regular release?

It most likely the magnet issues between Magsafe Apple charger and your existing magnetic mount (if its your own setup)
Watch the video above, the guy said an official Magsafe charger on existing magnetic mount will give very slow charging speed due to the interference

My MagSafe isn’t attached to anything magnetic. Just a plastic holder.

I had same usage, GPS + podcast (Airpods Pro)
Neither my phone loses power nor it dims the screen
However its pretty warm when using wireless charging
It could be charging issue with very slow charging speed but its unusual

Ordered the ball head, thanks so much for this tip. Hopefully it works with my ESR mount
Yeah, it takes time to be delivered, typical from Aliexpress
Anyway i highly recommend to only buy this support but not using included vent mount, its crap

This one has better vent mount, its hooked on the air vent blades and you can tighten until to find resistance through rotated wheel

Or that one as well

I can answer my own question. Holds it really good mounted in the car.

Followed the link on your YouTube page and ordered the Lisen vent mount. Impressive and nice. I cant wait till I go for a ride to check it out. I love the way it folds up when not in use. My main issue was I didn’t want MagSafe charging because I use CarPlay so I need to be hooked into the car’s system by direct connect to achieve CarPlay on my Avalon’s screen. The Belkin vent mount was good but I actually like the appearance of the Lisen better as well as the security of the vent and phone attachment.

Small tip when you are going to fix into your vent. Put it on the last vent, in this way, that small plate behind the knob will sit on your dash board area
Also maybe add some foam on the curved hook, its quite fragile (made in plastic), i ve broke mine after tightening too much

Since I mostly like to use it in landscape mode, (CarPlay map in car’s display turn by turn on phone), any hints to keep the phone from sliding out to the left other than a slight angle? Thanks again for the hint on this gem (mount)

If you are looking for a cig lighter, that tiny one is pretty good
Look at this size! Smaller than my Airpods Pro case
I love it
Baseus, it costs me less than 10 usd (around 7/8 usd, depending from which seller)
Sold on Aliexpress

Similar with Aukey (2 two ports, usb-a + usb-c)

You got ESR holder right?
Try my Magsafe holder, it doesn't slide at all once its well positioned
(i gave amazon links before, and it does exist in black which may fits better in most of car)
No I followed the link on your YouTube and got the Lisen. In portrait mode it is great (hides the CarPlay display a little). When I rotate it to landscape mode, it seems a little loose on holding the phone so I tilted it up a hair and its fine. Since I want to use CarPlay a MagSafe charger is not in the cards for me. I do have the Belkin MagSafe mount from Apple, its also works well in either portrait or landscape mode. However attaching to the vent is ok, but you need to push hard to get it to seat right, and there is this white brick sitting on a black dash. The Lisen folds up smoothly and is black and low profile when not in use. BTW thanks a lot for the lead

Yes its same for me, when rotating it to landscape, it can sightly move
I know what you mean
My guess, due to the form factor of Magsafe holder and mount itself (still a vent mount)
The pressure and the weight and holder + iPhone on the air vent blades are maybe too much, that why it seems little bit loose when you rotate it
Apple Magsafe, ESR are rounded, circular, so it can rotate just by iPhone itself
The drawback is it can rotate by itself or sightly
Windshield with extended arm, dash mount with adhesive 3M with metal ball mount, CD slot mount
I also ordered my Magsafe holder in black this time (i like silver but it doesnt fit in my dashboard, its too instrusive lol)
I m myself undecided about which mount to pick

My car(s) are pain in the ass, on my first car i have very few spots for dash mount
Both of my cars have CD slot right in the middle, bit low for my taste (6 inches lower than my air vent)
I think dashmount and CD slot are more suitable for what you want (landscape)
Cool thing about Magsafe holders, its universal and standard (except for Belkin and Apple Magsafe which isnt designed to be a car mount)
Free feel to test multiple mounts and see which one seems to be the best for your

Bought this...

It's a clamp that you put your existing MagSafe charger in.
