Just wondering if anyone has quick charge problems with their ESR Halo? Doesn’t quick charge for me very well. Bought new usb c cable and adapter but no change. Might need to look at another one…..

I'm surprised, 40+ pages into this thread and ~7 months after the 12 series launched, we only have maybe 1-2 "Made for MagSafe" chargers that actually go to 15 W.

MagSafe cases, yes. USB PD car chargers, yes. Made for MagSafe car chargers? 🦗

I imagine we'll be waiting until 2022; maybe the silicon shortage is causing delays as MagSafe hasn't taken off nearly as well as I'd thought. I'm hoping to buy one that is:

  • an official Made for MagSafe charger (type-C only, alignment magnet, animation, full 15 W, etc.)
  • Fits in a CD slot
It looks like "Made for MagSafe" chargers haven't really hit the market—yet.

Mine seems to be more maintenance rather than charging - I don't get out of the car with a full battery.

Each of these drives were about 1 hour and roughly 10% charge - albeit with navigation on the whole time and streaming music over BlueTooth.

Ball mount hook fixation for vent (metal hook, 17 mm standard ball mount)

I got this since few days, for the price, it worth every penny, its fully compatible with my Magsage holder
Much more stable than anything else (on the vent), i can turn the Magsafe holder in many orientation side (landscape/portrait)
It also extend the holder further away from the vent which is good for avoiding overheating

With the new MagSafe accessories starting to arrive, I am interested to see if there will be phone mounts for a vehicle that will allow the use of the MagSafe magnets without having to add additional magnets to the back of your iPhone or case. I don't really care about wireless charging in my vehicle since I have to plug it in for CarPlay to work anyway, so as long as a magnetic mount will work, I'm in.
Before MagSafe was a feature on the latest iPhones I’ve had magnets around my home and in my car to randomly mount my phone, with a plate installed on the case, but if I want to take advantage of the MagSafe accessories none of my magnets are now strong enough to attract whatever is inside of the MagSafe cases.

It seems I’ll have to convert or replace all of my magnets to a MagSafe form

Everything is vent, vent, vent. They have all damaged my vents. Where is the MagSafe windshield mounts??
One of the reasons air vents get damaged is because people don’t know how to install them properly and because they bought the poorer quality ones. The other reason is because they adjust them after they tighten them then the vent snaps lol.. common sense to loosen it first to adjust angle then tighten after.

It's unexpected, but it looks like a tough cookie to crack, apparently as not one exists. My suspicion: it needs some special IC that's only made at 1-2 factories that are all overbooked.

iOttie recently released this overpriced $49.95 MagSafe charging "Velox" car mount and, lo and behold,

A MagSafe iPhone accessory designed for the technology of the future. Velox Wirelessly delivers up to 7.5W of power to your MagSafe compatible iPhones. USB-C car charger included.

Sigh. You're probably right.

with my old 12W one i was on a 30min? drive and i think i got only 20% in from like 60-80? it also could me more the size of the battery.

which product was that for?

If you have an iPhone 13 Pro (not the max), beware if you're buying the ESR HaloLock car mount. I received mine yesterday via Amazon (third party seller), and I'm kinda peeved and annoyed that I received the older iPhone 12 car mount package. The listing clearly shows and states it being the newer iPhone 13 car mount, and I paid accordingly.

Fortunately, the older iPhone 12 model IS compatible with my 13 Pro Max since the taller body of the PM has enough camera bump clearance away from the mount compared to the 13 Pro (which isn't compatible). I'm relieved mine fits, but I'm still irked that I paid for, and expected the newer model. Messaged the seller to see if they want me to return it (on their shipping dime), or if they want me to keep it with a partial refund.

*TL;DR: If you're buying an ESR car mount for your new phone, make sure with the seller that you're actually getting the iPhone 13 version if you're paying for that, ESPECIALLY if it's for an iPhone 13 Pro (not Max).

Is there actually a 13 version? When i searched most vendors lazily lump 12/13 together.

ESR Halolock older version works with iPhone 13 but not 13 Pro and Max
ESR Halolock newer version works with any 12/13 iPhone series
That pretty clear when you visit official product homepage website

The FAQ on their website says the older version does work with the 13 Pro Max, but not the pro. Can confirm, I’m using the older version for my 13 PM lately.

That review was taken from the MCTOPZO MagSafe CD slot, linked here.

This IC shortage cause was also quoted as the issue by a Moment employee on /r/apple a few days ago, but was later removed. The question was, "Why are all of Moment's MagSafe accessories just mounts? Why no MagSafe chargers?"

So everyone else is stuck with 7.5 W Qi charging + MagSafe magnets: still good, not quite the 15 W wireless charging we expected.

Sorry not read all forty pages, but just want to ask.....does a case with its own magnets attach to a MagSafe more securely than than a bare phone?

I have just got the Spigen mount for the Apple MagSafe charger, and not impressed with security of connection with the bare phone (iPhone 12 Pro Max). Didn't fall off in a quick test drive but feels like it would, and phone rotates from vertical. Would a case with its own magnets be more secure?

Thanks
