Through nVidia GeForce Now.
At the beginning of the clip, for about a second, there's a NVIDIA GEFORCE NOW LOGO on the display next to Monica.
There's also the GFN status screen on the right side of the display, that also appears for 2 seconds.
And as for why... I'd say it was nVidia, showing off the GFN ultra-wide monitor support for both Mac and PC.
If people own multiple systems and I'd argue that most non-casual "gamers" do, then why wait? It's not like it's going to be better than any other version. The port or rather engine is already paid for via a deal between Apple and Capcom. Porting this is about the same as a DLC. In other words, if someone would provide enough money, then most devs are happy to to port to anything. If the money is right, I'm pretty sure we'd have an Amiga version of RE in no time.If people buy a console/Windows version at launch rather than wait for a Mac version that's arguably better for Capcom because they can save the headache and expense of porting the game.
Yes, but how many? Bringing it up in the App Store isn't all too difficult, the important part is how well does it sell compared to other options of distributions. Steam charts would have told us, but Apple wanted it AS exclusive. And don't forget, it had the disadvantage of being an older game that most people interested in the franchise already owned. That's why a day and date release of RE4 remake could be important. It sat at the top of the Mac App Store charts for weeks. It was clearly selling units.
Yes, it was a macOS issue that was solved later with a new version of macOS. Yet, people blamed Capcom and their support had all the work. Given the Apple/Capcom deal, Apple should have hunted the bug down right away and released a patch. I've seen such situations multiple times and the way it was handled wasn't something that should make either side happy. And afaik, the keyboard and mouse issue was a bug with macOS, which was resolved, albeit a few weeks later. It shouldn't happen again.
Microsoft buying Activision-Blizzard still hasn't gone through. There was no OW1 for Mac, there is no OW2 for Mac, no Diablo II: Resurrected either. They haven't cared too much for Mac for years since Activision merged with them.I really wish Apple would dump a whole bunch of money into gaming. I was just looking at Diablo III and I noticed there's a pre-purchase for Diablo IV was available. I got excited till I saw "Not available on macOS". I can't say I'm surprised after M$ bought Blizzard
No one wants to touch Ubisoft at this point. With all the sexual harassment, racism and all the other misconduct there, it's best to stay clear and let someone else to do the cleanup.Sounds like Ubisoft may be looking to get acquired. Again I think Apple can/should take a look at becoming a games publisher/development house.
Lack of D4 has nothing to do with Microsoft. Blizzard jumped the Apple ship long before MS even thought about buying them. It was clear from the very beginning that D4 on Mac would never see the light of day. If Apple wants it, they'd have to make a pretty expensive investment into Blizzard and redesign part of the engine from scratch. D3 on the other hand was designed with Apple in mind from the very beginning.I really wish Apple would dump a whole bunch of money into gaming. Yeah that seemed to be the tenor of the tweet, but I find it interesting Activision has similar (if not the same) issues and yet MS is willing to do the cleanup. No one wants to touch Ubisoft at this point. The Shadows of Rose DLC's dropped for RE8 Mac, came out about 20 hours ago.
So the input issue was Capcoms fault?Nice, that was fast, took less than 2 months. Hoping for more Capcom titles.

So the input issue was Capcoms fault?
The issue was definitely macOS. It was fixed in the latest macOS update (I had the issue). No idea, it sounds like it. It's their game so in the end they have to fix it even if it's some else's fault.

I have the feeling that Capcom is taking the blame for Apple.
The issue was due to a macOS API (for user input) that would crash under memory pressure. Clearly not something Capcom could do something about, except not using the API which would mean rewriting too much code.
It would be weird if it was OS related, as they can't rely on users having updated their OS at the same time as this update. It is likely something they fixed on their end.Maybe. I reacted to them saying "Fixed a bug that caused keyboard/mouse..." as if it was their fault.
It's non-sale price is $50 for RE8 and the Winter expansion. There's enough Steam key resellers that it's not too hard to find one that has it on sale, maybe not as steep but still less. Gamebillet has it for $40 for example. It could honestly be both, that there were two bugs, one in RE8 and one in MacOS, causing keyboard and mouse to stop responding.
Also, Homy, you mentioned that it was $26 on PC on sale, but what's the normal price? Daresay the Mac version'll be more expensivve still, but just to give a better idea how much more it is.
