I'm confused, what's different from Wild Life and Solar Bay? These are cross-API benchmark apps.
Wild Life is too easy of a benchmark for modern PC hardware so you get crazy high scores that don't really mean anything. Same for Solar Bay (which is worse because it is only RT reflections no GI or Shadows).

Plus I am hoping they combine the scores (PC/Mac) on the general browser instead of segregating them (you cannot search the general browser for macOS scores).

That's assuming there will be a macOS app, not just an iOS app.
"Steel Nomad will be our most demanding non-ray-tracing benchmark and will not only support Windows using DirectX 12, but also macOS and iOS using Metal, Android using Vulkan, and Linux using Vulkan for Enterprise and reviewers."

I sense a softer tone by Linus towards Apple?

Their whole company's arrogance / witty meter went for a down turn after their PR fiasco weeks ago. I myself liked watching their content if only for the entertainment aspects, but it is true that they keep getting facts wrong which frequently happens with Apple related videos. I guess they sensed the need to adjust a bit.

Uhh...didn't Return to Monkey Island release September of last year?
It's splitting hairs a tad.

It released on Steam for Mac September last year, but seems to have received a Mac App Store release in June this year.

RE8 was in the final 3 for last year, but lost to Inscryption. (Although it would pick up a few awards at WWDC 2023.)

What is the end date for each given year's awards? We are getting RE4, Death Stranding, and Stary, all are on App Store this coming December lol.

I'd guess it's late October or early November. A quick look through the past shows the announcement roughly mid-November, and the actual winners announced late November/early December.

Given that the actual award is a statue, a flight to Cupertino, and a phone call from Tim Cook, there'd have to be some organisation there.

When the Mac Studio gets promoted to M3 Max… I won't be able to resist. Seems like the M3 Max is just too good.

Same here, but maybe if the price was too high for me, it could be the factor that made me pump the brakes until M4.

There’s a narrow window that I’m able to justify working within. I’ll pay $2000, but I won’t pay $3000.

Any news on RE1-3 coming to Macs? 4 is good and all, but 2 Remake is still my favorite in the series.

Code Veronica hasn't been touched in a long time on any platform so no

As for RE3R...yeah no. You don't want that on macOS. That game stunk bad and was a massive downgrade compared to the original. 3 Remake butchered Nemesis hard and was rushed due to COVID and focused more on a multiplayer mode that died in less than a year.

I think its silly apple hasnt released a Pro version of the Apple TV for gaming... Hopefully its coming soon.

With what software? There's hardly any games available on tvOS that would justify doing that, because once you release a "Pro" version of the Apple TV, people are gonna ask what's the point since it'll cost as much as an Xbox Series S, or a Nintendo Switch, or a Steam Deck, or a PS5 Digital Edition, all of which have much bigger (and better) libraries while also being able to be used as a streaming box.

Need I remind you of the Apple Pippin?
