Apparently if you hover your mouse cursor over the stop icon it will tell you how much you have downloaded and how fast it is going.

That is not intuitive in the slightest. There's plenty of space to put a download percentage and mbps readout. This isn't a small phone screen it's a desktop. It's been how long and Apple still hasn't improved something as simple as that?

It is incredible how barebones the MAS is compared to it's iPhone counterpart, yet Apple is now buying exclusivity deals for that horrible storefront. I'd rather use the Cursed Fortnite Launcher than this, and I hate Epic's store too for how barebones it is, to the point I play Fortnite on PlayStation 5 instead of PC just so I don't have to deal with that launcher.

Interesting! The Swedish production company Extra Ordinaries teams up with Fallen Leaf to bring Fort Solis into film/TV.

“Fort Solis is the kind of clever science-fiction tethering on the brink of science-fact that will stay with you long after you step away from the screen. Each character in the small cast brings a unique perspective and depth to the story and we can’t wait to bring its gripping narrative, cinematic setting, and stellar cast to life amidst the thrilling backdrop of the Martian frontier.”

Maybe they’re doing some reputation rehab, in case they’re is ever a recall on the device. “We told you so!”

Something seems amiss.

I mean, of course you shouldn't be directly inhaling cooling vents from computers. That's just common sense.

The bigger question is why are you inhaling from the vents of electronics.

Yes, but it seems that only Valve is putting out this advisory email about its handheld device.

Why not Nintendo? Sony? ROG?

It came from a meme. People made jokes about sniffing their Steam Deck exhaust after getting them. It's like how Nintendo said not to lick Switch carts.

Because Valve sometimes directly reply to fan emails. Gabe Newell is known for this. When the first Decks were shipped by Gabe Newell himself he told the lucky few to shoot him an email at gaben@valvesoftware.com (which you can still use to this day) to let them know what they thought of their Decks. They actually do read the emails people send and sometimes reply to them

And a fan sent an email saying how good the Deck's fumes smelled, to which Valve directly replied "Please don't do that."

Huffing the Steam Deck cooling vents has become a meme lately (don't ask me why I do not know) so it shouldn't go without saying...please don't. You'd think we would learn from all the stupid Tiktok challenges that keep coming but apparently not.

Context time for the licking Nintendo Switch game cards. Since a lot of kids under the age of 6 play Nintendo games there was a fear of infants swallowing the game cards. So Nintendo applies a chemical formula to the boards of each Switch cart that makes them taste absolutely horrid to discourage swallowing the carts. When Nintendo fanboys learned of this they started a challenge to see what the horrible taste was.

What can I say? Our ape brains were not meant for instant access of information the internet provides.

Nintendo has rabid enough lawyers to handle any potential suit and I’m sure Sony and RoG will send out an email when they sell some units.

@Irishman Lawrence Yang who's the design lead on Steam Deck (and also formerly worked at Apple) is now roasting the cooling vent inhalers

Looks like Sean Murray likes the air too. Apple better step up their game and improve the cooling air smell for the Macbooks...oh that's right the Macbook Airs don't have fans so they can't...
Oh for god's sake.

There's five websites for you to blabble about the goddamn Steam Deck.

For me, the only goddamn thing I want to hear about Steam is Valve actually going "HEY, HERE'S OUR PLAN GOING FORWARD ABOUT MAC SUPPORT', not some guy talking about huffing fumes.

Legend of Keepers for Mac is free on GOG. It is 64-bit.

Escape Simulator: Among US DLC is also free.

The performance is also exaggerated and it’s a mixed experience like Crossover with games working for some and not working for others. You can check reviews on ShareDeck, Steamdeckhq or Protondb. Several games like Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, God of War, Hogwarts Legacy and Resident Evil 4 run at 30-40 on low/medium with many settings off. There is already a large thread about it here but still we keep hear about that deck in almost every discussion as a solution to everything.

Who needs Diablo 4 when we get this on Mac for free? Just compare the boss fights. Diablo 4 looks so messy with all the distracting scores and words that show up and cover the action making it hard to distinguish the characters and the action. And this is just in Alpha stage.

Lil game play on Grid Legends, no audio as I used QuickTime to do the screen recording.
HD is still processing. It says 30 minutes remaining...

Yeah it was on my mind last night. That is more or less what everyone at work uses to stream their gameplay.

Now OBS is available on Steam, but the Steam version requires Steam to launch it. It's usually recommended to just download OBS standalone. The only benefit to the Steam version is it has automatic updates.

You can also simply use BlackHole to record audio with QT. It's a simple plug-in.

But OBS' captures are higher quality than QuickTime. Not to mention it's recordings save a lot of file space compared to QT's which means faster uploads. If you're capturing gameplay, you ain't using QT, you're using OBS. It's the standard for capturing gameplay for a reason.
