A phone with a plastic screen and a crease in the middle? No thanks, I very much dbout apple would do that either.

I still don’t really understand what problem foldables solve. Plus you pay even MORE
They might not solve a problem for YOU but they are a different form factor that others appreciate… personally, I’d be very unlikely to get one.
If Apple wants to grow their iPhone business, they have to offer more than the current lineup, both actual and rumored

It's about time. The guys in the US pay way too little for it. We got raped in Europe for years now. Now it's time for you to enjoy this feeling paying 1500 $ for a normal iPhone.
What bogus, you get “raped” in Europe cause your governments charge 20% VAT/sales tax plus invents more taxes every year… and every company, Europe or US or elsewhere always adjusts for currency fluctuations…

I don't think $100 is a major price hike. Considering the increase in what we pay for food in restaurants and other retail sectors right now, it's not significant.

Aside from USB-C, there hasn't been any significant innovation in the iPhone for several years. I'll buy the iPhone that comes after apple Vision has been released. Probably some game changers in store there.

People never want to pay more
That’s human nature
However give us the features like Full screen iPhone with underscreen camera and watch how fast people pony up
This year $100 increase is about all people will pay

People do stretch their finances to afford nice devices like iPhones and if these price increases come to fruition, maybe it’s time more people truly thought about the impact of upgrading their phones too often? Apple are not concerned about their users getting into debt or the effect on the environment of too many smartphones being manufactured and consumed.

Remember people, we don’t owe Apple anything but they owe us everything. Keep your phones longer, buy older models and really affect this companies bottom line.

If the Pro Max comes in at £1299 for 256Gb I’ll still be getting it. If I currently had a 14PM I’d probably not bother but I got the Pro last year. I am starting to tire of the new phone every year though and may go for when it runs out of updates

???

£ GBP & € EUR price seems to go up every 2 years, so why wouldn't this year be any different when the 15 series is predicted to cost a lot more to assemble per unit?

Maybe the US will get their long overdue price increase like the rest of us. At least it will feel like the rest of the world isn't subsidising US customers for a change.
Apple seems to price Europe based on the exchange rate at the time, with taxes and generally rounded up. I’ve also seen them lower prices on the occasions when the euro has strengthned against the dollar.

When the iPhone 14 was released the euro was really low, at the bottom of a slope where it lost 20% of it’s value. Now it’s come up 10% in a year meaning in theory they could keep existing prices in Europe even if there was a 10% hike in the US.

Same here, my reason for upgrading is mostly type C, and the bigger screen. I plan on keeping it for 10+ years, hoping rumors are true that it’ll be fairly easy to replace the battery.

annoyingly I accidentally dropped my series 4 Apple Watch last week and it now has a crack, but I’ll wait for next year since it’s getting a redesign before upgrading. Zero reason to upgrade it right now outside the new crack in the screen.

Personally, I just don’t get why so many people buy these devices every single year, there’s so little reason to upgrade most of the time, it’s always small, iterative updates every time and when the prices seem to creep up all the time….why?
Yeah I don’t see the reason to upgrade for small changes. How good does a camera have to be for social media post and phones are plenty fast now. It wouldn’t hurt if apple didn’t go to 2yr hardware and concentrate more on software updates

I would rather buy 14 Pro if it's also available with type-c as was rumored previously.
I’m still hoping (but not in any way actually expecting sadly) for a surprise iPhone 14 mini with USBC to replace the 13 mini in the lineup

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could see a "major price hike" compared to their predecessors, according to DigiTimes' senior analyst Luke Lin.

iPhone-15-Pro-Colors-Mock-Feature.jpg

While the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are expected to maintain their pricing similar to the current models, the Pro models could see significant cost adjustments due to their new titanium chassis and periscope camera technology on the larger model.

The price increase comes amid a broader softening of global smartphone demand projected for the latter half of 2023. According to Lin, Apple has ordered between 80 to 90 million iPhone 15 units for this period, a downturn from the 90 to 100 million units placed for the iPhone 14 models last year. Leading the order share is the iPhone 15 Pro Max, followed in succession by the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15, and the iPhone 15 Plus.

Previous forecasts suggested the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be at least $100 more expensive than their predecessors. The iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at $1,099, meaning the iPhone 15 Pro could start at $1,099 to $1,199 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max could start at $1,199 to $1,299.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple was contemplating raising the price for both the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Analyst Jeff Pu has also said that the iPhone 15 Pro models could be more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro models. He believes the iPhone 15 Pro will be priced starting at $1,099, up from the $999 starting price of the iPhone 14 Pro. The entire iPhone 15 lineup are widely expected to be unveiled at Apple's "Wonderlust" event on Tuesday, September 12.

Lin added that upstream supply chain information indicates that Apple will increase the display sizes of both Pro models next year, mirroring other rumors claiming that the two devices will increase from display sizes of 6.1- and 6.7-inches to 6.3- and 6.9-inches.

I only care about the iPad Pro I’ve always upgraded every year since 1st generation. Phones aren’t that interesting anymore. To me that is.

The iPhone pro max 15 is the most ordered phone by Apple. If this is their most expensive phone, it should have the lowest share of sold iPhones. The standard iphone should be the most sold iPhone.

combine that with a love for big high end phones in a lot of areas in the world and apple will keep rising the price and trying to differentiate.

Would be nice if the lower level folks got the same dollar increase as the fat cat sitting in the big office. After all, who's actually doing the work to create the sales item?
I can assure you most people at Apple aren't hurting for compensation. And if you're in the iPhone division you are 100% not hurting from compensation.

Every vendor and supplier just keep pushing us and pushing us to see how far we will go before we decide to spend our money elsewhere, or not spend it at all.
Who is responsible? The governments that print money and give it away? The workers that demand more money, causing manufacturing and services costs to go up? Apple supplier costs have gone up — shouldn’t they be allowed to pass that along to their customers? Because the supplier had to pour billions into new plants and processes to meet demand, and they reasonably passed that cost along. There are many moving pieces to the puzzle.

Unforunately with Apple, it seems that the sky is the limit, people will just keep buying

Not in Europe, device sales are down. The price elasticity of demand is holding up though I think revenue wise they are similar.
