I like the printable version.

Puts the scale of the thing into perspective.

The bezel is perfect.

Lol

It's my daughters birthday tomorrow. I walked into the living room tonight and told her that I couldn't wait until tomorrow and I wanted to give her an early birthday present. You should have seen the look on her face. :D:D For a minute, she thought it was real.

She thought it was a funny joke and wanted to keep it. :):)

Cheers.

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm gonna take one to work with me on Monday and watch my boss drool over it. When he asks if he can see it, I'll be like "Sorry, I'm under contract not to let anyone else use it."

Take that you cubicle nazi!

Amen to that! Well said.

Any developer thinking about making a new app or adapting their current iPhone App to the iPad -- and really, which iPhone developer isn't? -- made at least an ad hoc physical mock up themselves. I might upgrade my own using this nice little pdf.

I also used my MacBook with the simulator running and sort of held it up by the screen. Tried out the keyboard which is going to be pretty good for people who type the right way. Though, I think everyone will probably have to look at the keyboard to use it most of the time.

I would like to have the actual back more realistic to test out how bad it will rock back and forth when used resting on a table.

BTW, this is not a news site. lol. It's a rumor site where people come to speculate and imagine possibilities and apparently hate on dreamers. If you didn't get stories like this every once in a while, you might forget. :D

This is awesome, I already made four of these and sold two on ebay at a $2500 buy it now price each. I'm going to list the other two now, I can't believe people think these are real.

I'm waiting for the iPad 2 version.

Combo drive.
USB 1.1 port.
1 mp camera.
NuBus port.
Click Wheel colored like a spinning beachball.
Micro DisplayPort with three adaptor cables.
Yellow, flickering display overlay for iMac users.
Dented aluminum bezel for MacBook Pro users.

Hello I am an iPad addict.

Hello, iPad addict

I am already addicted to the iPad and all that is printed or mentioned or even thought about in the minds of everyone.

I must confess that even before the ink was dry on the Announcement Event with His Royalestness and Most Wholey-ness Lord Jobs, I had pen to paper and had drawn the size of the most magical iPad onto a piece of construction paper left over from grade one almost 59 years ago (I was saving it for a REALLY special magical revolutionary occasion - and this was it!).

I used my EXACTO knife kit, a stainless steel straight edge and a bezier curve analyser to guarantee that I was using the Golden Mean to make all of the correct sacred symbolic magical cuts and curves.

But alas my addiction got the better of me and I was not able to fashion the internal components - including the dropout for the missing camera - and all I experienced in reality was a plethora of paper cuts and a massive case of the shakes. Which makes it truly worthwhile that there was no camera installed.

Today, I have downloaded all of the linked true-to-iPad illustrations and after painstakingly cutting and GlueSticking the various components (it is so nice to have the processor onboard now) I have plugged it into my adapted keyboard and am waiting for the battery to fully charge.

So far I have only been able to use two screens but I am sure once I can sync it to iTunes, I will be able to fill up that 1.24 TB with ease! What an upgrade!!

Thank you for listening. :D :p

PS: Can't wait for the origami posts! There are some great ones on instructables.

OH, for real news that you don't usually see on Faux Gnuz try:

speaking of things that don't flow at all, can anyone provide a scenario that would explain a designer approving the iPad's reported "wobble-back"?

I just don't get it. I can tolerate it, if i can find some--even remote--explanation. In the absence of that, it's infuriating.

to make it easier to pick up????

I would call it an amusing exercise, I would say some people here are taking things too seriously for a Saturday. What do the whiners do for fun? Anything?

Well i just printed one for the kid that is getting one. Had to do it at 90% - my big printer needs ink.

Heck, this would have been better to wrap up than the silly picture collage i gave her on her birthday!

90% scale only saves 19% on ink. For rough figures, I assume it costs $5 for photo paper & ink for B size paper (roughly similar to A3)

See, ss957916: there's a funnier way to make the same point. :)

A witty rebuttal is certainly much better than a vile one. Usually easier to win over someone that's on the fence.

Actually said 8x11 which made it an even more insane statement. I tried to stoke the fires with this on page 3, but clearly we are the only paper dorks in the room:)

I knew there is a difference. I don't actually use A4 paper though. Still, I wonder how many pople could tell the difference without seeing the two side-by-side. Unless you have the eye for it, the difference isn't that noticeable if you're not taking measurements.

The Taiwanese one appears to be a better mock-up than the one with two separate sheets. It tries to mimick the physical curves on the corners and back rather than just be a plain rectangle.

Something I never want to hear!

It's smaller then I imagined!

that's something I never want to hear.

Actually though, I cut out a piece of paper to size on the 27th to see how big that really was, so I think it could help you get a feel for the size. This is kind of a fun post.
