Anyone else find it funny that regardless of sunday Wichita State OR George Mason are going to the elite 8, that fact makes me smile, GO Missouri Valley!

I don't think the big ten was bad this year, I saw plenty of big ten teams/ games and the teams failed to win on the road.

It amazes me that they even go to the second round.

They only thing I am happy for right now is that UCLA and Washington (even though they are my arch rival AND I had them losing yesterday) and possibly Arizona (even though I have them losing today) are continuing. This means more time to show that the Pac-10 is not a weak conference. It was no MVC this year but everyone always seems to put us off as a weak basketball conference.

Oh and that Gonzaga is playing well too. More recognition for Washington (the state, not the school).

I actually laughed at this :p

My fiancee, who is not a hoops fan, walked into the room, got this funny look on her face, and said "What the..."

I asked her what was wrong and she said, "Brad Pitt?" I hadn't noticed it, and the announcers hadn't yet either. To a hoops fan, of course it's obviously abbreviations for Bradley and Pittsburgh, but an outsider's first thought is likely something entirely different...

Well I had my 'Heels losing in the regional final to UConn. The only good news for my bracket picks.....All my final 4 are still alive.

I was a perfect 8-for-8 yesterday. Payback is a b!tch today, though! Two of my Final Four are gonzo! I liked Georgetown coming in, but not enough to get past OSU... Big mistake. :(

This Nova/Zona intra-Wildcat battle is pretty intriguing. Shakur bought a three-point shot somewhere, and that Allan Ray is something else... Man.

George Mason was very impressive against UNC today. Great D, clutch outside shooting, and they had that one guy who could finish down low and took Hansborough out of his game. Nicely done, even though it means one of my Elite 8 teams bit it...

I've gotta disagree! After seeing the way the fourth or fifth best team in the Big East just dismantled the Big Ten regular season champ, and seeing the way most of the Big Ten teams got ripped in this tournament (Wisconsin, Michigan State, Ohio State and Iowa) -- yeah.

Just not much talent in the Big Ten this year -- they're much more midmajor in 2006 than the MVC.

I doubt I'll be going too far unless its upset city. I lost two of my final four today so I might be capped right now.

All I can say is "ouch". The end of last night, I wasn't so bad. Then came Sunday. It was a good day, with the exception of my bracket predictions. I only dropped -243,000 in overall rank. Half of my final four have exited, stage left, tail between legs and all that. What the hey, go Memphis. :D

John Capilari has gotten a lot of criticism from outsiders, but the facts are he's delivering what he promised whe he came to Memphis. He's graduating more students, putting more fannies in seats, and taken his team in the sweet 16 for the first time since 1994. Memphis will reap the result of some good recruiting over the next year, and should remain a national force to be reconned with

I didn't mean any disrespect to Memphis at all. I doubt they will be taking Bradley lightly after beating Kansas and Pitt but it won't be an easy game at all. Personally I'd be shocked if Bradley won unless they can get good guard play, something they were lacking today. Bennett was non existent and Sommerville couldn't seem to find his shot. If the guards can play the way they did against Kansas and Wichita St. in the MVC tournament then it could be a good game. O'Bryant is also going have to play the way he did today. He can be as dominant as he wants to be but he's be prone to stupid mistakes periodically if he doesn't stay focused. It was good to see him stay out of foul trouble and he played stellar defense today. I guess we'll see Thursday.

Stop being modest, Bradley all the way!

Another slightly OT comment. But special thank to emw and the OP's for getting this set up for all of us to play around with. It's been a lot of fun, even when getting ones' butt kicked. :p

Keep a close eye on Tre'Von Willis when he matriculates to Memphis next year. That kid can really light it up! Watched him play some AAU games because he was on the same team as the Lopez twins. He shoots it well from three and is quick to get into the lane.

Some thoughts on the tourney thus far...

- Officiating has been attrocious. Especially the Pitt/Bradley game. Calling it extremely close at some points, and extremely lax at others, the mystery technical on Gray, it affected the course of the game. Although Pitt overall didn't play well enough to win, unfortunately.

- I'm extremely unhappy with the telecasts. They'll break away from the game you are watching to show you early action from the other games, but when another game is close and about to finish and your game is early and not close, they won't break away?

- Conferences. Big East with 4 of the Sweet 16, ACC 2, MVC 2. What happened to the Big 10? I think it may be stamina with some of these teams. If your conference is tough, and then you play a tough conference tourney, you may not have much left for the NCAA's. Winners of Big East, Big 12, and Big Ten conference championships, all out in the first round. Duke's still in it, but let's face it, their conference tournament wasn't nearly as difficult competition as the other top conferences.

Tied for 1st after the first 2 rounds! Yay Georgetown and WVU for being my two lowest seeds correctly predicted. Anyone else correctly pick an even lower seed? How about the guy from Bradley? :) I've got six of my elite 8 still in it.

I agree that the officiating has been suspect at times, but the T on Gray was warranted. He spiked the ball and it bounced way over his head. Even though it was in frustration at himself rather than the call, the officials have to call that.

It's great to see Bradley hanging in there even when they're obviously nervous. If they can calm down and get in the game we have a great chance (Of course it also helps that Memphis isn't playing their A game yet either).

Do you think these Duke players flop as much in real life as they do on the basketball court?

I'm just imagining them wandering around campus, flopping.

God. And someone has to fire Jay Bilas. Is he drawing his salary from CBS or from Duke?

So glad the Madness is back. I was bored the last few days.

Then you obviously haven't been following the NIT or the women's NCAA tournaments. :D
