Hey, all - checking in to say that I've received my 3/12 order of the Moko today. Overall I would say it's pretty solid. The case doesn't seem as bulky as I'd imagined when watching Youtube reviews. Don't get me wrong - it's substantial, but looks like a nice agenda or notebook. For what I wanted [a safe, discreet way to transport my iPad while I'm on the train], it's perfect. Between the padding, corner bumpers, and the handstrap, I would feel very confident to travel with my iPad.

There is a slight issue with the construction of my Moko that I have reached out to Maroo about. I understand they're probably still processing orders from the sale, but I hope they can get back to me soon.

care to share what the issue is? are you considering returning?

Received my shipping notification finally. It is due to arrive tomorrow. :D just in time for the new iPad. :cool:

me too, finally. turns out it shipped yesterday so it is also scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Sure. There is an irregularity on the front where the two sections are sewn together at a slight angle instead of completely parallel. Thus the bottom of the smaller, leftmost section is narrower than the top. At this price point I would not return because of this, but I wouldn't mind exchanging if possible. Also, my Moko is lopsided in landscape mode but I can't really judge this without the weight of the iPad in it. Will update tomorrow about that and any response I get from Maroo. Other than that I feel it's quite nice and am happy I ordered it.

Edit: Got a response from Maroo in less than hour.

So is this something you want to disclose..there are a lot of Moko's in transit now. It would be helpful to know if the issue is unique to your case or if it is something that effects all cases.

Sorry..you posted the issue as I was asking my question, thank you for describing the issue you have. I feel Maroo is a company that stands behind their products and will insure you are happy,no matter the product or price point.

Thanks for sharing. Hopefully Maroo resolved to your satisfaction. Keep us posted on how it works out once you insert the iPad tomorrow.

It's because of Maroo, I talked to them again today to see what's been going on, and the lady told me that they're shipping them out and then later updating the tracking #s in batches via emails.

I just didn't want to sound an alarm or spread negativity without giving the company a chance to remedy the situation, which they have already stepped up to do. :) Often with reviews I feel people focus only on the negative parts no matter what the outcome so I was trying to be judicious with my wording. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

No harm no foul. When someone mentions a potential issue on any product in these forums ,red flags go up. I personally feel it is best to know if there is an issue unique to a single item or if there is an issue that may involve the product line. This info is important to both the company and the consumer...a lot of companies live and die by what is said about their products in these forums.

From all I have read and experienced,Maroo is a company committed to their customers. I certainly will recommend them to others and be a customer with them again.
 
2 days from Oregon to Maryland...Not likely. Cant trust USPS expected delivery dates they're not like Fedex.

my experience with priority mail has been pretty good. did they quote you delivery tomorrow? then worst case USPS delivers on saturday...

Question about the Moko. Can it support the iPad in portrait mode? I need this for reading lots of PDF docs every day.

I received mine today and examined it pretty closely after reading this issue. Happy to report that mine does not have this issue and the quality is very nice. The only issue I have is whether to use this one or the Incipio Smart Feather with the Apple Smart Cover that I ordered before I saw the sale and that will be here tomorrow.
 
Received my Moko today, looks amazing :) Just waiting for the iPad to get here hopefully within an hour or so now.

Same here. I got the Maroo shipping notice email late last night. It said 3-5 days, so I wasn't expecting it until next week. But lo and behold the USPS knocked on my door this morning with it. :)
 
A few things about the moko

Posted this in another thread about the smart cover function of the mojo case and thought I'd share here:

I have the new iPad and a new Maroo case. I believe my case is the Moko, and the smart cover function doesn't work reliably at all. If i hold it shut it works, but if I let go of it it just turns right back on. I didn't own a smart cover with my last pad so I'm not sure if there is a way to fiddle with the settings so that it works better, but the answer right now is no.

The magnet also doesn't hold the cover closed at all, you need to use the included elastic straps. I'm not sure if the magnet is just too weak to function well as a smart cover, or if it's placement is off.

Luckily I got this case for the 50% off sale price so I didn't expect or need it to be spectacular, I just wanted something that I could use immediately. I'll probably invest in a different case down the road. Other than the magnet problem tho, the case is really nice. The leather feels good and it has a larger strap inside that you can slip your hand into to cradle the ipad so your wrist doesn't get tired.

Some people were questioning if the camera hole was too small or poorly positioned- I guess it was an issue with the iPad 2- but on this model the camera hole is large and in the right place. It doesn't effect the camera at all.

I haven't received any e-mail or the shipment here as of yet. Going to call them up and see what's going on with it.

I didn't get any shipment confirmation either, so I sent them an email. The person who responded told me that he had to enter all of the tracking numbers by hand and that my case had probably already shipped. Lo and behold, I got it today. It's a small company, they are behind on the notification.
