nope no help. I have LTE data only and that helps a lot.
10.2 hasn't fixed the issue for me.Well...this is pretty depressing that so many people have the exact same problem and Apple has no fix for it. Of course to get a fix...Apple would actually have to acknowledge the problem, which hasn't happened yet.
I saw that 10.2 was released...it's probably too much to hope for this but has anyone noticed if the update helped?
I have an iPhone 7+ JB 128gb on at&t and I have very little (if any) BT issues. Other than the occasional skip, No issues in my car, or headsets. Nothing more or less than what I experienced on my 6+. That is not to say others are not having the BT issues. I wonder what could affect certain phones while not affecting others?
I noticed yesterday that one of the songs in my playlist gets to the last 40 seconds of the song then goes out, but the timer still counts down just no sound from the song. It's only on this one song as far as I've found anyway, and I thought it was something to do with the Bluetooth feature, but nope. Any ideas?
did your iPhone not come with the normal headphone jack adapter? And with no headphone port on my new future phone, I have no other way of listening to music or even audiobooks.

I had the same problems with my iPhone 7+ until yesterday. My wife and I upgraded our phones in October through AT&T. We both decided to go with the Plus this time. From the first day, I had problems with the phone dropping calls frequently and poor bluetooth connections. She had no issues with her phone. Whenever I tried to stream audio, either in my car or in the house, there was always some skipping. Sometimes it sounded like an LP playing at the wrong speed. Wifey also noticed I sounded more muffled when using the bluetooth in the car. I put up with it due to a lack of time and hoping that a software update would fix the issues.
I was working the New Year's weekend. I had several phone calls Sunday night into yesterday morning. The last call I received was about 5:30 A.M. At around 6 A.M. I got up to go round and my phone was dead. Weird as it was plugged into the charger. I figured it just locked up. Tried to power it up...nothing. Tried a hard reset...nothing. Dead. Fired-up iTunes and connected the phone....nothing. Luckily my wife was off from work so I was able to transfer calls to her phone. I ran to the AT&T store. The "tech" there couldn't get it on. Had to take it to Apple. The nearest Apple Store is in a Mall about 40 minutes away. I get to the store and there is a 3 hour wait. Awesome. Wander the mall for a bit and get a text about 2 hours into my wait that I've been moved up. I head back to the store and check in. I wait about 15 minutes to meet with the Genius. I explain all the issues I had with the phone and what happened in the morning. He runs his whole battery of diagnostics and concludes the thing is dead. He gives me the whole story about how he's never had one just die like that, etc, etc. He then replaces the phone with a brand new one.
I have been using the new phone all day today, including with bluetooth. This one does not appear to have any issues so far. The wife seems to think the calls sound much clearer over bluetooth in the car than they did before. We'll see how it goes. I realize that it could all just be coincidence, but it does seem like there is a hardware issue with some of the 7+ phones.
I just wanted to post an update to my original post. I was able to replace my original iPhone 7 Plus AT&T phone (A1784), with an unlocked one (A1661) and all the problems I had with bluetooth breaking up went away. Moreover, it appears my cell phone reception improved (slightly) in areas where I normally did not get reception. I cannot say that the problem was the chipset and not some other issue with my original phone, but I am finally happy with my purchase.
I know. I'm..cautiously optimistic! Interestingly, I thought about going that route when I first upgraded to the 7+. We are on a family plan with AT&T Next. We also have the kids on the plan. It just seemed like to much of a hassle with all the different upgrade dates, etc. I probably should have gone that way in the first place. Fingers crossed.
Another reason to suspect the chipset causing the problems. *sigh*
Here's what I'm still dealing with, 103 days after my case was opened.
I use my Jabra Rox and Jabra Clipper, different Bose BT speakers, harmanI have never experienced any skips or disconnections at all.
Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!I use my 7+ in my car to listen to music daily. I am on at&t and have yet to experience any skips or drops with BT. At home I have a sonos one, and there too I have no issues. At work I stream to a BT speaker and played Christmas music all of December and never experienced any issues with BT. I also have a pair of AirPods, and no issues there either. Not sure why this would be affecting some phones and not others.
Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I guess we are the lucky ones. Happy happy!
Aaaw, I never had the chance to get the AirPods. I left US on Nov 16. Will be going back on April. They're not yet selling the i7+ here and so with AirPods.
