Same here!Snagged a 44mm SS gold at BB.
If you put your mind to it...
I think Apple makes far less SS to be fair.It was like this last year for the stainless steel but not the aluminum. Those were easier to get.

The stores near me had a big influx it seems. I was surprised to see availability at two stores on Tuesday. Then early yesterday morning I noticed many stores had the 40mm SS with sport band in stock but thought they'd sell out fairly quickly. At 11:30am I went online (Apple Store) and they were still available so I ordered one for in store pick up, got it that afternoon. I'm not sure about the 44mm but after there being zero stock the past while near me every time I checked I was surprised to find the 40mm suddenly in stock and enough quantity to still be available mid-day.
My guess is tomorrow along with the Nike+ stock. Maybe it arrives in store today. Keep a look out.8:06am here and not seeing anything on iStockNow, Apple's site, or Target. Bummer, hopefully they get some stock somewhere sometime today...
I was able to do the same thing...YAYUH!Just got mine two days ago at a Bestbuy in MA. 44 MM SS Gold

I have a SBSS but I have this special feeling for the Silver. Have to decide to return my SB my Saturday.. ugh. I do love it too but that SS Silver can't get outta my head
Much like the Max everyone wants the biggest one abailable. My local Apple Store just got in about 10 different models 15 minutes ago.. all 40mm though. Ugh. Where is all the 44 stock? Must be the much more popular choice.
I do
Hmmm. I kind of wanted to try one out before deciding.I have a 44m SS that I'm trying to exchange for a 44mm Space Black... haha

They definitely have SS in stock at stores, regardless of what iStock says. Although when I looked at iStock a few days ago it did indeed say they had several SS available in various stores nearby. No SB though, from what I could note.

It's all part of the fun I guess...It's really bad, I agree. I would have THOUGHT there would be at least some 44mm Silver Stainless someone near me by now (Philly area). The stores all around here and NJ are just not getting stock (I check that iStockNow page every morning, few times a day.) Im not sure if it's 100% accurate or what.
Few 40mm Silver SS with the milanese loop, that's about it. Bigger selection in Manhattan of 44mm SS Silver - BUT these are Hermes watches. I don't need that
I'm STILL tempted to simply exchange my 44 SG Alum. Few more days until I can return it...then just place an order on Apple for the SS Silver - then wait the long 4-5 weeks until it arrives.

Heck, I tend to believe you. I have an Apple Store just a few miles away, I'll stop in and just ask if they have one. Maybe call around at the others. The Apple site - even if I wanted to order it now for pick up..I can't that site shows "Unavailable" as well for the stores in my area.

LOL, I hate this. And I'm leaning towards when your thinking also. I have until Sat to return mine...get the full refund back. I SWEAR if I don't return it, and I DO see 44mm Steels pop up my this coming Monday - past my 14 day return, it would upset me
Even though I have the 44m alum, I love the watch, seeing the photos of the SS...I'm obsessed with it, I even think about it while 1/2 asleep. It's really starting to bug me. (I may need therapy!) lol
It's all part of the fun I guess...
Stainless is definitely the way to go. I just don't trust myself and the Ion-X Glass. The Sapphire is nearly unscratchable. 3.5 years with my Series 0 and not a single mark even after mashing it on brick walls, doors, and any number of other surfaces.
If you plan to keep it for at least 2 years, go for it

The hunt CAN be fun for us geeks (Im a geek I admit...lol) But yes the wait, low stock. Not being able to buy a 44 mm SS ANYWHERE (Best Buys, Apple, Verizon, ATT, etc etc etc) 2 weeks in, it's no ques. frustrating. With Xmas coming up real fast, this may become even harder to find, with a longer wait in online ordersFUN? fun for who? people don't want to wait 2-3 months to get a new product!
