These must be in hot demand both SS and aluminum. No store within 200 miles of me has them and the ship date on the one I want is the end of October. Is this normal with the watches? I’ve never had one, but I didn’t realize they’d be hard to find.

Well, one of us got it... I had it in my cart, everything filled in, hit "Place Order" and then nothing. Page reloaded and there was no confirmation page, no confirmation email, nothing. But my bank's fraud dept. did text me to confirm the purchase, so I confirmed it and then still nothing.
No. Just the normal Apple site. Just hit buy and then check store availability. It was there.
Just checked now - not available - just got lucky I guess.
44 SS Silver ordered within minutes of preorder going live. Have a October 5-12 delivery window with no movement yet. Even got in line at an Apple Store and they only had 1 44 SS silver. Frustrating...
This is the way it has been with every new Apple Watch release.
I guess I'll try my luck tomorrow. If I can't find a Space Black 44mm by Friday morning, guess I'll be sticking with my Stainless Steel for a year...

I ordered my 44 SS Silver within minutes as well, had a Oct 6-14 delivery date but it shipped theee days ago ... still waiting on it but supposedly it's on its way.

Same here. Lots of aluminum watches and even some 40mm silver SS watches, but no 44's. I'm about ready to give up for now and try again in a few weeks. The daily trickle of watches is getting frustrating.

It was like this last year for the stainless steel but not the aluminum. Those were easier to get.
I've been checking both apple and best buy daily. Hubby finally decided he wanted an apple watch, so i placed an order for one for him at apple but ti's got a oct 15-22 delivery... and i ordered one from best buy... but who knows when that's going to even ship!? Ugh!
I ordered mine and got it on release day (40) but then I ordered another one via discover deals (before they excluded the new items) and it even shipped way early and arrived the 24th (I returned it unopened) and i had placed one from best buy at the same time i placed hubby's to take advantage of points there and that one even arrived!
