last year I remember that the Apple Stores do not list online having any units unless the stock goes above I think 5 units.
I might give my nearest apple store a call at the weekend and eee if they have any stock.
I checked online today and dates are still slipping. It’s go to be production problems as well as high demand
Well, Target came through for me. SS Gold 44mm w/ Milanese Loop ordered Saturday 9/29, delivered to me at 10:00 AM Tuesday 10/2. I admit I was a little worried that it was all just a glitch in their system and they would cancel the order or send a 40mm.

Yup. Got excited when Canada went green for an hour yesterday.
I was able to get a gold SS from from Best Buy, I would recommend checking their site as well for availability.

Dunno if it’s a company wide policy but my local store in Chicago won’t give inventory info over the phone. Not sure if that’s a security thing, or if it’s because they’ve had whiny entitled customers make a scene when they called to check stock then came to the store to buy and the item was sold out. Either way it’s a lame policy. I’m a big boy. If you tell me something’s in stock and I make a trip to the store to get it, I know the risks. And a thief isn’t going to call the store to ask about inventory and then come rob the store for the 2-3 watches they have on hand after a launch.
Visited the Toronto Eaton Centre a few times to check out the SS and fell in love with it {had S0 Al and now rockin' S2 Al - going SB SS}.. no availability so ordered online.. late October / early November delivery..

Unfortunately, not for the one I want - 44mm Silver Stainless Steel. Crabtree in Raleigh had a Space Black 44mm steel watch come and go within 11 minutes.
I'm gonna take off a filter, just so I can see some green on that map 
Edit: the only 44mm SS models I see out there right now are Hermes editions. That's too rich for me.

I actually went in to that store as well earlier to make a return and they only had the gold SS in 38 mm. No other SS models. I guess someone went in and bought that one too. The employee I spoke to said they been getting very few SS watches but should start getting more soon (not sure if thats official though or just that person’s opinion).

Have a SG Alum and am mostly sold on an SBSS. Stopped by my closest Apple Store on the way to the airport today to buy another watch band and asked if they had any in stock and no dice.
With my window up on Friday as well, looking like I will be stuck with this one till next year...
