I checked Apple store in regent street, the reseller in Selfriges and also John Lewis in oxford street and they had no stainless steel stock (Apple store has hermes though).

Seems like there’s massive stock issues in the UK at least. I’ve pre ordered from apple but my delivery estimate is Oct 26 - nov 3.

I’ve been stalking the Apple site every morning for the 40mm SBSS Series four and no luck :(

Apple updates the store inventory every day at 8am local time. I was able to secure my 40mm SBSS by checking for inventory right at 8am on Sunday and nabbed the watch. I did have to drive from Seattle to Portland and back in order to pick it up though (6.5 hour round trip). I saved on the sales tax though. :)

I did note that iStock lagged a little compared to checking the Apple website like a freak. I saw inventory of the 44mm's show up right at 8am but iStock did not send me a notification until 30 minutes later at which point they were gone. Not the worst thing though as I did not want a 44mm anyway.
This would explain why I can never find one in stock in portland, but might be able to find one in Boise, Seattle, or Spokane.

I can't seem to find a 40mm SS (silver) with sport loop. I've been checking since launch. I think I might just have to order online and wait the month.

I've seen many 40mm stainless steel models in all three colors arrive at my local stores this week, but no 44mm silver stainless steel. I wonder what's behind the shortage.

There are almost no Milanese gold SS in stock around Vancouver, bc. Even tracking for a whole week since I really want the Milanese version.

I’m interested in getting the gold milanese but I jumped on a gold stainless watch that popped up locally with the sport band. Thinking about it after the fact, I’m ok with it because I know the gold Milanese band will be available separately in a month or two but I’m not sure that sport bands with a gold pin will be.

After a solid week of monitoring, including stalking Istocknow and the Apple store physical locations (i was in a mall today and visited the store at 10:30 AM and then again at 3:00 PM with no luck), I gave up and ordered a SS Gold 44 with Milanese Loop from Target for delivery this Tuesday Oct 2. I figured the $10 shipping charge was more than worth my time stalking Apple for three more days. Let's hope they come through. While I would have preferred to buy through Apple and get the benefit of their no-hassle 14-day return, sorry, but their inability to adequately stock the Atlanta area with this model even one day out of the last 7 made me turn to a secondary source. (Not like that actually cost Apple anything - they still made a sale.)

I lucked up and got an SS silver 44mm at the Apple Store in Nashville, TN. Even the Apple store employee was amazed that I found one since he was waiting on his order as well. Istocknow was the reason I got the notification and was able to call immediately. The person I spoke with said it was the only one available in a 250 mile radius of that store.

This is kinda crazy. I’ve been stalking Chicago areas stores for 4 days straight and not a single 44 SS silver has shown up. At the moment there’s not a single one showing on istock on the planet.

I only waited a few days after the initial S0 launch to find a 42mm SS in store. Then I skipped S1/2 and bought an S3 last spring, well after launch.

Was SS availability this scarce right after the S2/3 launches? Could there be some issue with the SS model? Even 40mm ones have all but dried up over the past couple of days.

I couldn’t find a SS 42mm Series 3 for a while last year. I got very lucky and found one at a Best Buy Mobile one Friday afternoon. I have no idea when Apple stores started getting them. The yearly shortage of stock is getting a bit old.

Yeah aluminium and Hermes seem to be about but SS are barely trickling though if any. It may be that they are struggling to meet the online demand which is approximately 5 weeks delivery time

Fulfilling online orders makes sense, but you would think that aluminum sales would be greater. But those are plentiful in stores. Maybe they’re a lot easier and faster to make, or Apple made a ton of those before launch.

I have been doing the same thing with no luck lol (also in Chicagoland). Lets hope they get some more soon!

I'm still waiting on my silver SS 44 to ship - confirmation email is +20 minutes, pre-order day.
. Damn! If you're not seeing movement then I won't for some time. 44 SS MLoop confirmation email +2:01 pre-order day.

I got lucky and snatched a 40mm SS in Pasadena yesterday. I’ve been seeing istocknow alerts for Pasadena, Glendale and Thousand Oaks a few times last week. They only had another one that was reserved.

My preorder is coming on Tuesday and I will return it to the store immediately. Probably in Glendale.

How did you order a 44 SS from Target? I swear, their app and their website only lists a 40 SS as even being an item they offer. No 44. Am I missing something? And the 40 SS isn't even available to back order. It simply won't let you put it in your cart.

I’m seeing the same thing you are on Target’s app & website - no 44mm stainless steel models available for sale. I went back and double-checked as soon as the other dude said he ordered from there. Nothing.
