I legit don't know what I want to buy lol.

The rose gold fanboy in me wants it but rose gold is so 2015 lol.

I am a huge fan of matte phone tbh but the jet black is awesome as well

I also like the both new colors, but i am going for the flagship color as i always do

So what is it, are you staying with your 6+ or you upgrading because you seem to flip flop. In other threads your say the 7 is not a big enough update to upgrade and then in many others you say you will

Less than a year to go until the iPhone 8, which will be more jaw dropping than this poorly manufactured jet black 7. I think Apple thought of the color late in the development process and didn't have enough time to design it in a more durable manner. Also explains why they can't mass produce it quick enough. The rumors were all about a blue color, so when that was scrapped they probably thought of this. This jet black is basically a test run to see what the demand would be and now they know. Plus, I'm sure Apple used this finish as a way to make this phone "look" like a new design when it's not really a new design at all. Beautiful phone but it's so impractical. Apple warns you to put a case on it if you're OCD. Ok, that's not a problem. BUT...then people have scratched it PUTTING a case on? Doing exactly what they were supposed to do? LOL you gotta be kidding me. I'm sure Apple will get this finish right next year and make it way more scratch resistant, since now they know it's popular. The matte black is exactly what the slate iPhone 5 finish should have been and now they got it perfect. It's so stealthy and awesome. Apple's stock photos of it make it look grey and it's not grey at all. I wish I could buy a car in this same exact color, LOL.

How is the JB impractical? That doesn't make any sense! I've noticed that you've been on this negative crusade against the JB for awhile now. Let it go bruh and move to your next crusade.

My JB is indeed a beautiful piece of art and I'm sure the Matte Black is just as beautiful.:apple:

Extremely happy with this color but I use a case. This phone is extremely slippery so using it without protection is not smart. I may get a rhino bumper and screen protector for the rear.

I think I may actually prefer the space gray back. The new all black look just seems old to me. Maybe because I've always had a dark gray or black Caudabe case on my phones anyway, so my phone has always more or less been all black. But even without a case, I was comparing the two and the space gray is more appealing to me (antenna lines aside).

When I first got my hands on a Nexus 6P in anodized black and realized how beautiful the color was, I asked why the hell wont apple make a stealth Black phone that isn't called "Slate" or "Space Grey"?! Im glad they finally came to their senses when it was time for me to upgrade, because it truly is the best looking iPhone color Imo and I hope it makes its way to the MacBooks next spring.

I like the matte black, however I have to keep my phone in a case because I find it quite slippery. I still can't exactly grasp around the hype of the new black colour though, considering I'm certain that the iPhone 5 was initially offered in Black (slate black) before Apple transitioned to space grey.

My phone arrives tomorrow so I haven't had more than fifteen minutes total in play time with a matte black phone, but I really love how it looks, particularly in a black leather case. As opposed to the space grey where in a black case you have these silver pieces sticking out in the mostly black package, it's basically all-black and I think it looks stellar.

I think I would have been happy with the jet black in a case as well, but to me it looks like it's made of plastic and I really don't get the appeal. A friend of mine at work got the jet black 7+ and I just didn't dig it the way I do the matte look.

I would love to see these options on the new MBPs.

For me the hype is because I loved that color before and am glad it's back. I don't like the lighter silver color of the "new" space gray phones.

While neither matte Black nor Jet Black is a new color (we had very similar colors in the Black and Slate iPhone 5 and black iPhone 3G and 4 series), we're just happy that Apple is finally offering a couple of actual black models after three years of Space Gray, which looks basically silver.

First of all i have iPhone 6S plus and iPhone SE (not iPhone 6 plus) and yes i am not upgrading to iPhone 7 plus and iPhone 6S plus will remain my main phone for whole coming year and honestly there is nothing that excites me in iPhone 7 plus except the camera and i am not a photographer, the iPhone 6s plus camera is just fine for me + i am also happy with both of my iPhones overall performance but that doesn't mean i am not buying the latest iPhone,i will get iPhone 7 (4.7) in jet black color and i will pass my iPhone SE to my son

have to admit if the apple store had both the matte and the jet 7 in stock when i got my matte 7 i would have given the Jet black a try. don't get me wrong I LOVE MINE but the jet black one looks awesome as well!!!!

(Both are beautiful and even though it may seem small to many the fact that i don't have to worry about getting water on it is AMAZING!)

My eldest daughter and I have both our phones on my account and each get an upgrade every two years in the normal cycle. Last year, I was due to upgrade my 5S but instead gave up my upgrade to her and got her the Rose Gold 6S+ and I took over her regular 6 which was in silver with the white face. I much prefer the black finish to the face but have found the 6 to be such a good phone that it didn't really bother me too much.

In this year's upgrade cycle, neither of us had any real need for an upgrade but heck, you know you're going to succumb anyway, such is the lure and I am so week :) Really, I would probably have foregone the upgrade and saved £30 or so on the monthly bill, but the dual lens camera and moving from a non plus 6 just edged me towards making the decision to change. Ok, it's because I am week!

I did fancy going back to a black phone and had already decided that I was going to move to the Plus size. Initially, was drawn to the JB because it did look good in the presentation and (shamefully) it was the "new" and "flagship" colour.

When I visited CPW to order, I changed my mind and ordered the Matte Black Plus 256. I will be honest and admit that, at the time, the reason was that the lead in time for the JB &/or 128 was much longer, and I knew that I would really like either of the black phones.

I would have been satisfied with a 128 JB or MB 7+ but, of course, neither were available on launch day.

Since getting the phone early last week, I am very happy that I chose the MB. It looks great and I am going caseless for the first time so slightly less cleaning ;-)

Of course, it's all personal and it's not a case of "my choice is better than yours". When I see a JB in the wild, I know that it is going to look really nice, as will all of the other colours.

I hope you all enjoy your new phones.

Y'all know you want this *ducks*

Yes ,but I really don't care what color it is, every phone I've ever owned is put in a credit card case so the color is a nonissue. Advantage is when I go to buy a new gen iPhone I can get whatever they have in stock, And Not worry about all this jet black versus Matt black nonsense.
My only requirement is a black front, I really dislike white bezels. Imagine how popular a Moto maker type program with custom color combinations would be.

Not a shinny finish guy. Prefer the matte. Just my personal taste. The JB does look nice though, but with a yield of only 60 to 70%, they got to do a better job on the finish. Next years phone should be the one with a more perfected JB finish.

Apple made my decision very easy:I wanted a black face phone and only needed 32 GB. My only choice was the matte black.

If jb were offered in the 32 GB I would probably get the matte still. The easily scratched and fingerprint prone jb would have drove me crazy.

I predict in a few months time there would be a lot of moaning and complaining about how scratched up the backs of their JB phones are.
