I really wanted to get a jet black 7 plus but didn't want to wait for it to become available. Managed to reserve a matte black 7 plus at an Apple Store 2 days after launch so I went with what was available.

Edit: Don't regret my purchase at all but it did make it harder for me to decide which Apple Watch to buy.

I love my Matte black iPhone 7. I've seen the Jet Black in the store and it looks sharp, but my first choice was the Matte black when ordering and it's still my first choice after seeing both.

I'd say I'm pleasant with the matte black. It doesn't appear to me as attractive or anything. I guess it's a safe choice. I don't regret buying matte over jet tho

I have a mb and wish it was a jb bc it's slippery and jb feels better to hold.

No case for me.

Which is what? Silver? Cause the 'flagship' iPhone has been black since pretty much the beginning.

7 plus in jet black is the flag ship colour and model

Last year it was rose gold

For the 6- any colour

For the 5s - gold

For the 5- any colour

For the 4s- white

Before that I was with blackberry :)

Matte black looks awesome. Stealthy, solid, perfect. I don't like shiny things. The only difference between the matte black and the jet black is that the jet black is shiny. This difference also adds to more fingerprints and scratches. There is no insecurity, I just prefer to have a stealthy black iPhone, without fingerprints everywhere, and doesn't scratch easily.

Seems to me the insecurity is with those like you who purchased Jet Black, and are now regretting it.

Enjoy your phone.

Likewise. Plus, Apple said the jet black is a "seamless" design and looks like one uniform body, can't see the antenna lines...that's a load of crap. I got a really close look at one today and I saw the antenna lines especially on the sides. And it doesn't look like one uniform body to me. Nice phone but it will be better and more scratch resistant next year

Flagship doesn't simply mean whatever is new.
Correct, Not necessarily. But in the iPhone case it's the one used in the marketing material, the key note and the one thats always harder to get hold at the beginning

I mean- giving the jet black a different material and even a different style box - is a HUGE statement from Apple

had the jet black, was too scared to even look at it, got the matte black and i'm happy. it's in a case either way for drop protection mainly.

the jet black i7 is widely available at all the apple stores in my area...

still went with the matte black

I actually miss Space Gray (really silver with a black front). Reminded me of the original iPhone and just seemed nicer overall. Just my opinion of course so no one is right or wrong here.

iPhone Dropped, caseless, (not my fault).

Still love it

No scratches on glass but side scraped a little.

Still no regrets (except now I don't let anyone touch my iPhone).

I canceled my JB preorder that wasn't going to show up until Nov.

On an off chance, walked into a Best Buy mobile while I was out of town this weekend, and they had a 256gb MB available. My fiancé picked up a rose gold plus too.

That said, I'm so glad I bought the matte black. Reminds me of my black iPhone 5, one of my favorite phones ever.

Was originally going to go with Jet Black, but the Matte Black was calling out to me in a bigger way. And I'm glad it did because it is absolutely beautiful. Still loving it. And loved that I got it on launch day with no problems or delays :)

I just picked up my matt black iPhone 7 128gb and love it! Still restoring from the 6s backup through iTunes but the phone looks fantastic! Haven't seen JB in person yet, but I love the matt black finish :)

Edit: While I am really happy with the iPhone 7 I think it's definitely overrated. The 6s was just as good. It doesn't feel faster and the home button is good/bad.. can't really decide on that. The ringtones sounds a bit better due to the stereo speakers but that sums it up.
I don't have my 6s anymore to compare but the screen and everything looks identical. The phone just feels more expensive and has a better finish overall. It's hard to tell where the display ends if the phone is off. Just looks like an expensive piece of art - but that's not worth the $1k price tag (have to pay a premium over here, as it's not officially released here yet).

Overall I only upgraded because I had too and it's nothing to write home about IMO.
