So how does one place an order? By phone, email or do I have to go in the store to do so in person? Thanks!

Do they give you a confirmation sheet that shows the model that you ordered?
If this latest news about two separate allotments is true and not just the ramblings of the confused clerk who answered the phone...honestly, I don't even know how to end that thought.
I ordered via Apple Store app on 4/10, 12:02am PST. The result? No movement with my 42mm Bright Blue Leather Loop. Waited in line at Maxfield for 7 hours on the 23rd and turned away with no more 42mm SS after the first 60 customers.
Went to Maxfield on Wednesday and preordered 42mm SS w/Milanese, overcharged $350 (they still haven't corrected their mistake) and now I hear inventory is not being immediately directed to those who have preordered.
As someone else has said, cluster**** it is.
Had a very kind friend (who deserves a promotion) just put in an order for me: 42mm SS WSB. Haven't seen anyone mention WSB yet for 42mm SS at Maxfields. He pre-ordered (pre-paid) around 6:40pm PST.
I have an order in with Apple for an Edition, but it won't be here until the end of May. I have called Maxfield and they won't say anything unless I am in the store. I live about 2 hours away and don't want to drive all the way down there for nothing. That is why I am asking my fellow MacRumors fans, if they are there, to please ask about the Edition. Thank you.
I guess she wasn't very specific on what they going to get tomorrow?I had a follow up call before they closed earlier to find out why they handled the preorders this way. The rep I spoke to was very forthcoming and sheepishly said, "honestly, we kinda screwed up our shipment delivery today and didn't process the preorders."
So they basically took care of people who showed up to buy watches on the spot. The good news is that they had plenty of stock leftover well after they closed, likely watches for preorders that weren't processed. In addition, they are to receive a large shipment tomorrow, though she didn't know which models it would include. Finally, she was confident that they'd be able to cover a large amount of preorders tomorrow.
As someone had mentioned, it will be on an appointment basis. In other words, you have to line up (assuming there's a line) to set an appointment, at which time you will get to either buy (if in stock) or preorder (if unavailable).
That being said, good luck to everyone tomorrow and may the force be with you.
They said they're getting the Editions, but you'd have to pre-order and they'll get it in fairly soon.

what did you order?
This just gets more and more screwed up every day.
Agreed! Fingers crossed we get "The Call" tomorrow.
Nice! I'm hearing those come like in 1-2 days
Anyone else order a 42 SS BSB in the last couple days?
