I was there yesterday mid afternoon and all they had in the 42MM was white and blue sports. My friend was there in the morning and he got a 42 black sports. I went back this morning and they came out and said all they have today is the 42 blue sports and the 38 milanese. I pre-ordered a black sports. Hopefully I get it soon.

They also cut off all the known resellers. They would not allow them to buy anything today and said they will not be allowed any future purchases. So that really cut down the amount of people in line.

How did they know who the resellers were? Just knew their faces? How'd they know they weren't buying multiple ones for family and friends? Interesting.

It was VERY obvious who the resellers are. I could tell immediately. Plus I think they have been there everyday since the on-sale started. To get a ticket to be able to buy a watch you must show your ID and they enter your info into an ipad. So they can tell how many you have bought. They offered me $75 to go in a buy them something. I wanted the watch for myself, so I declined.

Ok so here's the skinny: they "highly encourage" those who want SS models to order them except the Link and Black Link models. They said for me a 42mm BSB that I ordered would not be too long of a wait. They confirmed they have priority and a relationship w/Apple to get them faster. They said the trend on SS is about a week wait but not to hold them to it. They were super nice and professional

What did they mean by that Link and Black Link comment?

I'm here now 3:45pm and there are 5 people with appointments and others not on the list and hoping for walkin. Guy said all appointments are booked for the rest of the day-till close at 7pm. So I'm just waiting too.

How many "others not on the list" seem to be there?

See that's what bothers me about this whole appointment system. Even if they only had ONE representative doing any kind of work with the watch, they're trying to say it will take them until 7pm to help out all 5 of those appointments? Sounds absolutely ridiculous to me. It literally takes 3 minutes to create a pre-order and make the payment. Maybe 5 minutes tops for a runner to get one of the watches for in-store purchases.

Glad I have the watch, but this whole release has left a sour taste in my mouth. I prefer the overnight line for the iPhone 4 when we had a "beer" pong table set up outside Old Town Pasadena, a magician doing tricks with my 3GS, and everyone having a good time.

Could you ask about Space Black Link preorders and if there's any update?

LOL, they cut them off today!? Only two weeks after they've been steadily supplying inventory at over twice the markup on eBay. LOL Good job Apple! That'll show 'em you mean business. Nice business partners you've gotten yourself into bed with ...

I was there twice today. Once this morning to set up an appointment (Maxfields is always by appointment to buy anything I think). They announced as soon as they started that they only had 38 SS Milanese and 42 sport with blue. That's all they had. I didn't bother staying for an appointment since I don't want either. Later in the day I was in the area again (around 2:45) and I stopped to ask if they had anything else. They did not. The people in line were for 3:00 appointments. The people for later appointments will show up later obviously.

Maxfields is useless call wise. They have an apple person and he is the only one that knows anything. Calls to the store were absolutely met with incorrect answers. They told me on the phone that they unequivocally had 42 SS models which they have not had. They told me later in the day that they've received a new shipment today after the time I was there in the morning and I should stop by. This was also incorrect. The apple rep told me they will receive stock on an unpredictable basis and the only thing you can do is order one or make an appointment to see if they had anything new.

Badly done on Maxfields part. There is no reason the lady that answers the phone can't say 42 sport with blue and 38 SS Milanese is all we have but that's how they handle it here.

I also talked to the apple guy about the link bracelets. Apparently they got "one or two on launch day and have not seen another one since."

I would take everything Maxfields says with a grain of salt.

They are instructed to be completely vague about the line outside, and which models they have available so that they get people to line up outside (creates attention/advertising for the store for people in the area). Once you wait in line, and you finally get inside, you almost feel pressured to buy something since you spent time waiting.

I was there the other day, and they told me the same thing: we have Sport Blue 42 mm, and 38 mm milanese. By the time I got in the store (1 hour after they told me they have 38 mm milanese), they only had Sport blue left, but "possibly" a white sport 42mm.

It's just an absurd mountain of lies and vagueness intended to get people to line up and buy or order something.

It would be extremely easy for them to tell you the stock over the phone since this info is readily available to nearly everyone working the watch section.

I don't know if this is the case. Maxfield is a well known high end fashion retailer with an elite and discreet clientele. It is typically visited by Hollywood celebrities and others valuing their privacy when buying $1,000 t-shirts and the like. I can almost guarantee none of their regular clients have been showing up since this Apple fiasco started ...

Attention and advertising is definitely something they are not looking for

OK, I read this thread and decided why not. So I headed over and got there at 11:45. Was given a ticket then about 2 minutes later given an appointment time of 3 p.m. .

Unfortunately I had a bunch of things to do today and couldn't stick around the area for several hours nor return later. I will say the security guys and the guy giving out the appointment times were all very nice.

Side note, like always when in that area you run into some entitled "douche", there was this fedora wearing beard sporting skinny dude who walks up and starts saying to the security guy, yeah Alex told me to just go inside, security ask him what Alex, and he states the Apple rep, he told me to just go ahead and go in. The security told him, you'll need an appointment first.

Hahah shut down!

Happy dance. Just got a call from Maxfield! My 42mm Milanese is in! Pickup tomorrow because there's no quick way to get there even though it's only about 10 miles away.

So, it was a 6 day wait. All in all, pretty good. Prettttyyy good for you Larry David fans.

Have my SS brothers in waiting also received The Call?

No call for the SS yet. But you JUST got the call? Maybe they did get some shipment in after all and are going through them. In any case, enjoy!

Thanks! Yes they called right before my post. I was surprised because I was expecting to hear from them around 11 o'clock in the morning.

Hey guys, those who went down, do you guys think there's any luck getting a 42mm Apple Watch Sport on the same day as getting an appointment? I'm not particular about the color though. Thanks!

Sigh, no call today for the 42mm ss bsb here either. Didn't realize they got mid day shipments though. I work literally 10 minutes away so even a late call would work for me for a same day pick up.

Yes there is. I had my neighbor go down yesterday around 5.30pm. She just walked in, no line, no appointment. She picked up a 42 MM Sport blue.

Wow, after several weeks of waiting, I feel like I need a cigarette (and I don't smoke).

Received "The Call" as well about an hour ago and braved rush hour. Thankfully, I like exploring side streets and Fountain Avenue was moving freely. Parked in their lot, hopefully for the last time, walked into the store, exchanged receipt with the cool guy who remembered me, darted home, and now my son is all a twitter trying to convince me to do an unboxing.

Anyway, I'm happy to have my 42mm SSw/Milanese finally in the house! Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting.
