9CAO Screen

I have the 9CAO screen. I think it's great, but I'm curious if you have compared your screen to your sister's screen. Mine is bright enough, but you must get up to the last two notches of brightness control to achieve a relatively bright screen. I think the colors seem ok.
Thanks

I just got my 13 MBP yesterday and I have a 9ca0 screen. It is much improved over the black MB that I still have in the house.

Just got my 13" MBP with the 9CAO display.

Is there a way to get the text to be sharper?
I have a hard time reading fuzzy text.

9CAO Screen Calibration

Would anybody have a calibration formula that I could add to my screen profiles specifically for this screen.
Thank you

mine is 9CC2.
In the terminal, it is B133EW07 V1.
It seems to be AU Optronics.
Is this one good?

By default the machine is setup for 1.8 gamma, but that's not what the world is. Run a hardware calibration with the settings of 2.2 target gamma and native target white point (the human eye compensates for white point and laptop LCDs REALLY don't do well with white point correction) with your calibration tool of choice and you'll be much happier!

Hehe you're probably coming from Windows. I have bad news for you: there's nothing you can do about the fuzzy text. It's Apple's fonts and they can't be changed.

Well you can change the font smoothing to strong and disable it for smaller letters, but that doesn't help much. (System preferences, Appearance). Or you can run Windows.

You tell us :)

I think it has very good colors, contrast and viewing angles. It's just not very bright but ok. If you use the search function you'll find a dedicated thread about this screen.

Sure there is. Go into Appearance preference and set Font Smoothing to Light. Much more crisp and clear on modern LCDs.

Just got mine today, I got the 9CBD, I havent experienced any bleeding yet that I notice, anyone else have any input on this screen? Also, would you recommend calibrating it? It looks fine to me, but I guess I have never really paid that much attention.. thanks!

another 9CBD registering on the thread! do we even need to calibrate this?? :D

I think you will be surprised by the difference when you do calibrate it .... I was, and now the original calibration that shipped with the laptop looks very washed out.

I have a 9CBD screen and I have not calibrated it in any way. It was beautiful right out of the box. However, when using the classic iTunes visualizer, the colors do seem a little fluorescent, but I don't mind it. I think this is due to the wider color gamut.

My girlfriend has the 9CBD and I have the 9C9E. Mine looked crap out of the box and great calibrated, and hers looked good out of the box (she hasn't even calibrated yet).

i have the 9cc2, find the brightness could be higher, the white background i find a bit pinkish, but colors and contrast stunning.

anyone with this screen that was able to compare it to the other 13 mbp?

are there better 13 mbp screens out there?

i'm using Snow leopard and I tried the steps to find out which display I have but it is not working. Can someone please help me find out which display I have?

Thanks
